Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • A Dalek shoots at the 1st Doctor and Susan. They are not hit, but the blast reflects on the Dalek and it explodes with green sludge. We see the body of the dead dalek, writhing with tentacles.
  • Lightning strikes and almost hits multiple characters. We see a charred corpse which has been hit.
  • Cybermen fire guns at characters and cause explosions. The Master is almost hit.
  • On the chessboard of death we see the Cybermen try and cross it, only to be struck down to their deaths. The Cyber Controller tries to make the Master go first to show a path across, only to be shot by the Master. The Cyber deaths are slightly gory, with some alien blood.
  • The Raston Warrior Robot impales several Cybermen, beheads another, takes limbs off multiple ones and stabs a few Cybermen to death. Famous for being slightly gory. Some alien sludgy blood.
  • A firework is shot at the Yeti.
  • A character is shot off-screen, no blood. Their body is dragged in to the Time Lord council.

  • Some wine in the TARDIS and in UNIT.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • This episode, especially the extended 25th Anniversary Director's Cut version, is quite dark and scary.
  • The whole Yeti scene is quite scary.
  • The Raston Warrior Robot is demonstrated to be TERRIFYING, with abilities to teleport and kill absolutely anything it likes, mostly anything it sees.

Violence & Gore

  • Several characters are picked up by a time scoop. No damage occurs apart from to Tom Baker and Lalla Ward.
  • Cybermen try and bomb the TARDIS, with a casket containing the bomb. This fails tremendously.
  • The Yeti causes a landslide but the protagonists escape.
  • Borusa is turned to stone.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Borusa wants to have immortality, telling undead Time Lord President Rassilon this. Rassilon turns Borusa into a gargoyle, living and seeing but frozen, on the side of his tomb. This is quite traumatising, even to the characters!
