Robert Redford and Barbra Straisand have good chemistry and its believable they could fall for each other, however the plot drags out and is boring.
Too much feminism and it gets in the way of the romance. I don't mind a lady being active and caring politically, but when you sit down for dinner and can't stop talking about your causes, it gets frustrating to watch!!
Maybe that's why Mr. Redford turned down the movie on 3 separate occasions! The love story is bland!! It's so hard to want these characters to be together when she put political causes over her husband, and he just doesnt care to fix any issues.
I personally believe Barbra is a better singer than actress, as I didn't care for the 76 version of A Star is Born either. The title song is fine and touching, but the movie just is not.
This is probably my least favorite Pollack-Redford collaboration, and I have not seen Havana yet.
