Quick Change (1990)
7/10
Bank Heist
28 February 2024
In New York City, a man dressed like a clown robs a bank and closes his hostages in the vault. He negotiates with the veteran Chief of Police Rotzinger (Jason Robards) by phone and demands a helicopter, a powerful motorcycle, a bus and a monster truck. In return, he would release one hostage per item received. When the helicopter arrives, he releases a man that cries all the time. Then the motorcycle and the bus arrive, and he releases a couple of tourists. However, the hostages he has delivered are his friend Loomis (Randy Quaid); his girlfriend Phyllis Geena Davis; and himself, Grimm (Bill Murray), who is the mastermind of the heist. Now they are ready to leave New York City and fly to the Fiji Island. However, Loomis is a little slow and jeopardizes his getaway plan, and they have many difficulties to reach the JFK airport. Meanwhile, Rotzinger and the NYPD are hunting them down.

"Quick Change" is one of the funniest comedies from the 90's, when it as very easy to get lost in New York City. Bill Murray is hilarious, but Loomis is very stupid and the reason of the most havoc in their getaway. The conclusion is corny, with the pregnancy of Phyllis, but in general the film is good to laugh with the confusions were Grimm and his friends get in. My vote is seven.
