Oh my god. Dude. What the hell. All the character development is gone. It's just surface level now. The only thing we get in those regards are Adam and his Dad (briefly) and then all the important moments that were supposed to happen before Otis and the gang went off to college is just not there. Then Jakob and Ola are just cut out???? I mean I get that Joy probably isn't Jakob's kid but really???? We don't get to see how that played out either? Jakob and Ola are important characters and you're also telling me that Lily is just cutout of the show after that dramatic buildup at the end of season 3???? Does Joy's treehouse get built???? I did some research and saw where the original writer was hired on for this first episode but the director had changed... part of me thinks the director barely watched this show and pressured the OG writer into making this horrific mess. Come to find out, it probably WAS the case considering the writers after this episode are different. This can't be the last season, right?! I mean I've only watched this first episode to this last season and I'm already foreseeing its downfall through to the last episode. Man. I've never been more disappointed by a show. And this may be the only time in history a new production team was hired to write the last season, not a good idea for any show.
