6/10
mild comedy
11 September 2022
Naive reporter Marion Hargrove (Robert Walker) gets drafted into the military. He is quickly befriended by a couple of scheming fellow recruits. He's not particularly good at soldiering. He and Carol Holliday (Donna Reed) get tricked into a date by his no-good friends.

Robert Walker has a baby face and died way too soon in real life. He has all the boyish charms. I like his character. I like the wholesome chemistry with Donna Reed. Their meet-cute has a cute premise. I don't really care about his 'friends'. It's wartime and the comedy can't be too biting. This is mildly humorous and slowly loses its bite.
