I have always liked Queen Latifah, but felt she was a better actress than some of the roles she's played. Equalizer gives everyone the opportunity to see her talent and she makes her character, Robyn McCall, one you want to see succeed! I'm not endorsing vigilante actions, but this series does encourage us that there are former law enforcement that may serve better unfettered by politics - in a television drama that is.
I didn't like the character of her daughter in the series, too exaggerated as a rebellious teen though cast as a "good girl", a contradiction in plots weekly. Tonight's episode revealed a "softer side" to the former self-absorbed, character. She was more relatable and you could empathize with her through the loss of her friend.
