fourth and last
3 October 2021
Perry Mason (Warren William) marries his loyal secretary Della Street (Claire Dodd). They are interrupted by a woman with a gun. She wants to hire him at the point of her gun.

It's the fourth and final Warren William appearance as Mason. It has a great start with the femme fatale and her gun. I just kept thinking that Perry seems to be breaking the law in his investigation. It then goes for the low humor of a cross dressing Spudsy. I'm not sure that it's strictly necessary for him to dress like a dame. I guess it's at least a little funny. It's all a weird mixed bag of screwball and a too cool Perry and a less than compelling mystery. There is little chemistry in the marriage. I still love the femme fatale start but it's a gentle decline for the rest of the way.
