The Strike (I) (2016)
7/10
Unshackle yourself from the illusion and surrender yourself to reality
16 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Carlo Lombardi (Bronson Pinchot) is producing a film called "The Strike" involving the Mafia. Three roommates who imagine themselves as actors want to be in the production. Molly Mirovsky (Erin Fogel) runs a yoga class that Carlo attends. Alberto (Guillermo Iván) is from Cuba and works as a waiter. He likes to do improvisation on his written lines, which is generally bad. Richard (Christopher Márquez) has various jobs were he stands outside of restaurants dressed as an animal. He meets a homeless man (Paul Calderon) who claims he is the reincarnated soul of What Whitman. Richard listens to his life philosophy.

The film is comedy with a very very long message of being yourself and not wearing a mask. It was certainly overdone as any quirky indie.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity
