Get Out (I) (2017)
9/10
Excellent horror/thriller

Get Out is one of those gems, a horror film that manages to be highly original and unpredictable. I honestly didn't know what to expect next, all the way to the end, when I expected a horrible ending, we had a classic quote from one of the good guys. People were saying this film was racist, I didn't get that vibe at all, apart from saying that black people have extremely good genes. It was funny in parts, but mostly eerie with constant bad emotions running through it, from the start with the accident with the deer. As I said, I didn't know any of the storyline, and this made the film so much better. Go into it like me without researching it, and just go on a horror ride. As I said the ending was a joy, but it was a nail biting ride to the finish. Acting was wonderful, the cast did an excellent job of creating a weird suburban nightmare with scientific tones along with pure horror. In short a must see film, for it's budget I'm glad to see it making a lot at the box office. Horror is really suffering at the moment, few new ideas and loads of low budget movies getting average ratings of 4 out of ten, which tells you avoid it at all costs. This movie is a classic! And I want to add, this is the first film in ages that I have watched, then the next night gone back and watched it again to pick up things I had missed the first time. I have read some of the negative reviews on racism, it's racist against blacks, it's racist against whites. This is a horror/thriller film , it's not meant to be read into too deeply! I want to add Chris the main character in the film really did act excellently, you could sense his growing unease with everything with every facial and tonal change in him. Once again, ignore the haters, this was definitely one of the best horror films in ages.
