Warning: Spoilers
When I first saw the movie Cindy it was in the summer of 1997 on the Disney Channel. I was twelve years old. I am a big fan of Nell Carter so I felt obligated to see this movie. What a show! I got to listen too jazz scattin songs like,"The Sugar Hill Ball", the song from the jumprope scene called "My Name Is Cindy", and the gospel song from the church scene, "Hide Within Beneath My Soul". Actresses Nell Carter, Alaina Reed, and Charlaine Woodard were my favorite characters in the movie. I mean where else can you see a musical movie where as soon as a song begins to play,a live band of jazz musician walk right into the room playing there instruments as the actors begin to sing. It was brilliant! Nell Carter was just as vibrant, sassy, and sultry as I remember her. I am outraged that I cannot find this masterpiece on DVD or VHS. I need to take that trip back to the Sugar Hill Ball just like I did the first time. Classic Cinderella AIN'T GOT Nothing ON THIS! To all of my fellow Nell Carter fans don't you think it's time that every movie or stage play that Nell has done should be released on video including "CINDY"? This legendary actress is no longer among the living and its time for her fans to collect there memorabilia of her. GIVE US CINDY ON VIDEO!
