M. Night Shyamalan’s Split is not only his big cinematic comeback, it also creates a combined universe of films, connecting Split to an earlier super hero origin movie. Shyamalan has announced that he will be filming a crossover project that will act as a long-awaited sequel. (Spoilers)
After a long slump, M. Night Shyamalan has reminded us why we were so impressed by him when The Sixth Sense first came out. Split is a critical and box office success. As good as the overall film is, it’s the ending which is getting the most attention. It’s not unusual for Shyamalan to have a last-minute surprise in his films, but the final scene of Split is unexpected, even for Shyamalan.
(Spoilers below)
Split takes place in the same cinematic universe as Shyamalan’s Unbreakable (2000), and features a cameo by Bruce Willis as the super-powered security guard David Dunn.
