The Way Home’s core mystery centers on Jacob Landry, who vanished mysteriously one night in 1999. The Hallmark Channel drama has gradually revealed more details about what happened to Jacob, where he ended up, and what he’s doing now. Over the course of the past season and a half, his older sister Kat (Chyler Leigh) has gotten closer to finding her missing brother. But as the show evolves, it’s introducing new characters and plot twists. One of those was foreshadowed in the show’s Feb. 18 episode, “Wake Me Up When September Ends.”

Fans of The Way Home may wish they could jump forward a week in time this Sunday. The Hallmark Channel time-travel drama normally airs new episodes on Sunday nights. But the show is taking a break on Feb. 11.

The Way Home is switching up its schedule on Super Bowl Sunday. Millions of people will be glued to their TVs to watch as the Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers (and perhaps get a glimpse of Taylor Swift cheering on her boyfriend Travis Kelce). So, perhaps it’s not a huge surprise that Hallmark has opted to give the show a week off.

Time travel is a tricky thing. In The Way Home’s first season, Kat, Alice, and Elliot thought they had figured out some of the pond’s rules, including that you couldn’t change the past and that it would always send you where you needed to go. But it turns out the pond still has plenty of secrets, as we’re beginning to discover in season 2 of the Hallmark Channel series. In episode 2, “Hanging By a Moment,” Kat and Alice go on separate journeys, while Del and Elliot face their own challenges in the present.

At first glance, The Way Home was an off-brand original series for Hallmark, thanks to time travel being utilized to tell a multi-generational story.

Kat and Elliot’s big moment in the season finale of Hallmark Channel’s The Way Home featured actor Evan Williams in more ways than one. The scene, which saw Willams’ character making a huge choice that left Kat (Chyler Leigh) reeling, was accompanied by a cover of Cyndi Lauper’s hit song “Time After Time” sung by Williams himself.

Hallmark Channel’s new series The Way Home doesn’t hold back when it comes to ‘90s nostalgia. In the multi-generational family drama, a present-day teen named Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow) discovers that she has the ability to time-travel back to the late 1990s, when her mother Kat (played by Chyler Leigh as an adult and Alex Hook as a teen) was in high school. Aside from the era-appropriate fashion and nods to dial-up internet and movies like The Blair Witch Project, the show also references the decade in its episode titles.

We’re only partway through the first season of The Way Home, but the show is making its commitment to the ‘90s theme clear in its episode titles. Three of the four episodes that have aired so far reference popular songs from the late 1990s.

We're only two episodes into Hallmark's new family drama with a fantasy element, The Way Home, but we're already eager for more.
We had the chance to catch up with Evan Williams, who plays the adult version of Elliot Augustine, a long-time family friend of the Landry family.
Elliot is a part of the family's fabric and acts as Alice's tether as she navigates the past and present of his and her family's lives.
What are you most enjoying about playing Elliot Augustine?
That's a good one. I think Elliot is a really multifaceted character, which always fires my imagination.
What's really cool about this character is I get to play one dynamic with Alice, which is sort of the mentor, like the older generation in confiding wisdom and direction, and at the same time, a different dynamic with Kat, who is Alice's mother, which is, hopefully, more of a romantic,...

Larry Kramer, the writer and influential gay activist who pressed the U.S. government and the medical establishment to respond to the AIDS epidemic, has died. He was 84.
Kramer died Wednesday from pneumonia, his husband David Webster told the New York Times.
Earlier in his life, Kramer was a screenwriter with credits including “Women in Love” and the 1973 musical “Lost Horizon.”
Spurred by the onset of the AIDS epidemic in the early 1980s, Kramer became a fierce activist and an impassioned writer, and one of the earliest and most vocal advocates for AIDS research, treatment access and institutional recognition of the gay community so hard-hit by the disease. He is best known not only as one of the founders of both Gay Men’s Health Crisis and Act Up, but also as the writer of novels and plays including his 1985 work “The Normal Heart,” his urgent, agitprop depiction of the early days of the AIDS crisis.

Nick Boshier.
Nick Boshier and co-creators Anthony MacFarlane and Jarod Green are developing a long-form series of their animated comedy Beached Az.
That will be a sequel to Beached Aziversary, which Robot Army produced last year for Facebook, YouTube and Instagram, marking the 10th anniversary since Beached Az premiered on the ABC.
The 10 x 3′ online series followed the bizarre adventures of a philosophical, Kiwi-accented whale and his cocaine-addicted, murderous seagull friend. The unlikely couple had a steamy love affair which spawned a love child.
As part of the re-boot, the team launched a beer range, Beached Az Brew, in partnership with Sydney-based brewery Modus Operandi. A significant percentage of profits goes to charities which clean up beaches around Australia.
As lead writer Boshier is crafting the treatment and pilot for the Beached Az TV series with David Webster’s Cheeky Little Media and Ian Collie’s Easy Tiger.
