YouTube star Keenan Cahill, who first became popular for his celebrity lip-sync videos in 2010, has died, according to multiple reports. He was 27.
Cahill had undergone open heart surgery on Dec. 15, his manager told TMZ, but there were complications to the procedure, leading to the internet personality being put on life support. Cahill died Thursday in a Chicago-area hospital after being taken off life support. Et has reached out for confirmation.
The beloved YouTube sensation gained notoriety on the video platform more than a decade ago when he became one of the first channels to garner over 500 million views. His channel has more than 721,000 subscribers.
His most popular lip-sync video, which has 60 million views and was uploaded November 2010, features 50 Cent and sees the duo covering the rapper’s song with Jeremih, “Down on Me.”

American Idol’s final four contestants – Jena Irene, Caleb Johnson, Jess Meuse and Alex Preston – each sang three songs Wednesday evening. All of the Idol hopefuls had to sing a breakup, makeup and a dedication number for the chance to crack into the top three.
American Idol Recap
Caleb Johnson was first up and sang Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name.” Though it wasn’t as innovative as when Blake Lewis beat boxed it a few seasons ago, Johnson’s take on the song was still unique and deserving of praise from the judges. Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez were particularly complimentary of his rock presence on stage.
Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Travelin Band” served as Johnson’s dedication song. It was a song that Lopez described as being in the rocker’s “wheelhouse.” Most surprising was Johnson’s choice to dramatically slow down the ending.

15 entered, 10 performed, five were ousted. In the second night of American Idol's brutal "Rush Week," it was the guys' turn to take the stage and perform for America's votes. Well, not all the guys as the Fox reality hit's three judges, Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr., eliminated five of the hopefuls before they even got a chance to sign. Way harsh, no?! Tuesday's show saw the exit of five ladies, including Brandy Neely, Austin Wolfe, Andrina Brogden, Kenzie Hall and Jillian Jensen. So which five guys were sent home on Wednesday night? And what did the 10 lucky contestants who made it to the stage sing? First, let's do a quick run down of the Top 10...

"American Idol" Season 13 is finally starting the live shows with the Top 15 girls Tuesday (Feb. 18), though only 10 of them will get to perform, which doesn't seem very fair (and as it will turn out, is not fair because so many of them completely tank). They've been working hard in boot camp all week and now only some of them get to perform? Mean.
Before things kick off, Harry Connick Jr. says this is the most talented group since the first year. That's ... not a good comparison. Kelly Clarkson is awesome, but let's not get carried away that Season 1 is the pinnacle of talent for this show, Hcj.
Just as a reminder, the viewers will vote five men and five women into the Top 13 and the judges will pick the three wild card spots. Let's get to the performances:

It’s the last ‘American Idol’ episode before the live show, and in a surprising twist, the Top 30 is actually the Top 29 — until America decides between Neco Starr and Ben Briley!
We’ve made it, you guys. American Idol auditions are finally over and the semi-finalists for the live shows have been chosen! Mostly. The judges made some really thoughtful choices and we think we’ve got a pretty solid group — but we’re still missing our 30th! The judges couldn’t decide between Ben Briley and Neco Starr, leaving their fate up to America. See below for all the highlights and our finalists so far!
‘American Idol’ Recap: Feb. 13 Highlights — Top 29 Revealed
We left off last night, Feb. 12, with Casey Thrasher and Cj Harris singing off against each other for a spot in the Top 30. The cliffhanger was for naught, as they both made it through. Weak.

American Idol has really done it this time. They’re pitting two of the semifinalist guys — authentic country crooner Ben Briley, 24, and flashy vocal dazzler Neco Starr, 22 — against each other for Your Vote — tonight! It honestly seems wildly unfair and random to me that the vote needs to be between these specific guys. Neco was battling sickness and didn’t sound anywhere near his best in the Solo Night footage shown along with the voting info. (All of that is below.) We’ll learn which guy gets to stay during next week’s special-night show on Tuesday, in which the...

Time to meet the Top 30 of "American Idol" Xiii. Wednesday (Feb. 12) the judges revealed the first 17 slots, nine boys and eight girls. Time to find out which singers get the last 13 spots.
Highlights of Thursday (Feb. 13) include:
The Cj Harris-Casey Thrasher face-off ended in both of them going through, which is what we were hoping for.Caleb Johnson's final song is "Radioactive" and J-Lo is rocking out to it and the judges put him through, but caution him that he'll have to work hard against these more traditionally talented singers. We're sad to see Nalani Quintello go, we liked her voice (what little we saw of her).Conversely, we're surprised to see Briston Maroney be chosen. We find his voice weak and nasally. Is he some cannon fodder?Briana Oakley's final solo song is enormous, it's so good. She's brought into the room with Brandy Neelly, who did...

American Idol returned on Wednesday with Harry Connick Jr., Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban narrowing down the field of talent to 30 – 15 boys and 15 girls.
'American Idol' Recap
Following the group round, the American Idol contestants got one last chance to sing before the judges. They had the option of choosing a song off a list and being accompanied by a live band or playing an original song. Aside from a select few, playing an original song proved to be a poor choice, as their song writing abilities didn’t match their singing talents.
Sam Woolf was an exception with his performance of his original song “I Tried,” which was inspired by the aftermath of his mom leaving his family behind. The heartfelt lyrics and his strong voice made him a shoe in for the top 15 guys. Jesse Meuse also sang an original song. Hers, called “Done,” was about an “idiot.

Of course it’s sad that this is a news headline, that it took this long, that this is reality. But hey, let’s be happy about it instead — someone had to break the ice! M.K. Nobilette, 20, is officially the first openly gay contestant on American Idol. It’s really just a crazy technicality: Gay contestants in the past had never spoken of their sexuality on camera, seemingly by the show’s design.

It's time for one of those filler episodes of "American Idol" -- the contestants remaining after Hollywood Week are made to take the longest elevator ride of their lives and then sit in the dreaded singular chair as the judges start the selection process on the Top 30.
At least when most singers either ride the elevator or are waiting for their judgment, we are treated to a performance from Hollywood that we may have not seen yet.
Highlights (and lowlights) include:
Emily Piriz singing and playing the piano on "Stars" by Grace Potter. Absolutely gorgeous. Thankfully, she is chosen for the Top 30.An original song by Spencer Lloyd is perhaps a misstep, but the judges still select him -- and of course they do, because he's a good singer and super attractive.Madelyn Patterson is the first person the show says goodbye to, which is too bad. Yes, that was "X Factor" contestant Jillian Jensen you saw during the Season 13 premiere of "American Idol." But the Jillian you saw on "X Factor" and the one you'll see this year on "Idol" are two very different people.
Just compare Jensen's tearful "X Factor" audition and her breezy, acoustic "Idol" audition and you have a very different singer -- the singer Jensen says she actually is, rather than the one with the bullying backstory they wanted her to be on "X Factor."
"Doing 'X Factor' was a great experience, but unfortunately I don't feel like I was allowed to be myself as an artist," she tells Zap2it, although it did give her the platform to do some motivational speaking against bullying.

Simon Cowell used to be the draw of "The X Factor," but someone has usurped his position as the main reason to watch. Not Simon's nemesis, L.A. Reid; not the big name, Britney Spears; and definitely not Khloe Kardashian and her nipples. Rather, the real star of the Fox reality hit is Demi Lovato.
The singer (and, like Britney, former Disney minion) is probably the least known of the four, but Demi showed her strengths during the audition weeks, mentoring her team and, now, the live shows. Britney has been the one getting all the headlines (for mostly fictional tales, I like to hope) and her comments to all the singers haven't been the most helpful (unless you count being called "amazing" constructive criticism), but Demi has been the true support. And she's fun to watch. It could've been easy for Lovato to land in the shadows of Spears, Reid and Cowell,...

The Top 16 is finally revealed on the Oct. 23 episode of 'X Factor' with a shocking elimination no one saw coming! Picking up where we left off before baseball ruined everything, Demi Lovato had just told Willie Jones and Jennel Garcia the good news that they both made it through to the live shows on The X Factor. Up next, rapper Nick Youngerman — whose performance wasn't all that memorable — was sent packing to the shock of… well, no one. "I don't wanna be known as the rapping toilet cleaner for the rest of my life," he said. (Yikes! Poor kid.) Rihanna look-alike Paige Thomas was up next, and as they played "California King Bed," I noticed Paige even had the same stars inked on her neck as RiRi! I'm afraid she's going to have to differentiate herself if she wants to make an impression, but nevertheless, she's a total...

So, after the uber-weird "X Factor" episode that half-aired in half the country and didn't air at all in the other half, we now know the Top 16 acts. For thoughts on what aired last week, check out our recap here.
Britney's House (teens)
Diamond White, Carly Rose Sonenclar, Arin Ray and Beatrice Miller advance from Britney Spears' house.
L.A. Reid's House (over 25s)
L.A. ends up keeping David Correy, Jason Brock, Tate Stevens and Vino Alan.
Demi Lovato's House (18-24 year-olds)
This is when we pick up where we left off last week. Demi decides to keep Jennel Garcia, Willie Jones, Paige Thomas and Cece Frey, leaving Nick Youngerman and Jillian Jensen going home. We would've kept Jillian and sent Jennel home, but the other ones we agree with.

I can't believe The X Factor played this whole thing off like last week's episode wasn't a complete disaster, and that it didn't already show two of Demi's results. However, I will take any chance to re-watch Demi's earnest excitement at telling Jennel and Willie that they had made it through.

The alarmed look on Simon Cowell’s face said it all. Tuesday night’s Top 16 announcement telecast of The X Factor featured more hysterical weeping than a Grey’s Anatomy season finale, a Justin Bieber concert, and an onion-slicing competition combined.

Some of you may have noticed your Fox programming was a little weird Wednesday night (Oct. 17) -- "Ben and Kate" rerun, a weirdly abbreviated new "X Factor," like 10 minutes of a "Mindy Project" rerun and then more baseball.
What happened was the Nlcs Game 3, which started at 4 p.m. Et, had a 3.5 hour rain delay. When the station wasn't sure if it would come back in primetime, it aired a rerun of "Ben and Kate." Then it decided to start showing the brand new "X Factor." Then when it looked like play would resume, it weirdly flipped over to a "Mindy Project" rerun and announced "The X Factor's" third judges' home episode would air in its entirety on Tuesday, Oct. 23.
However, we've seen a good chunk of it so far, so here's a recap if you're interested:

For the judges' homes visits on "The X Factor," when each judge whittled their six acts down to four, each judge also welcomed a guest mentor to help out. At the house for the Young Adult group (18-24 year-olds), Demi Lovato welcomed fellow pop sensation Nick Jonas.
Some of his highlights include:
About Willie Jonas: "Sometimes he's R&B and sometimes he's country. I do think there's a place for him, but he's gotta define that."
About Jillian Jensen: "Maybe it's out of line, but she's kinda sexy. There's something sexy about her. It's the voice tied with the passion in it."
About Cece Frey: "She took direction extremely well."
What did you think of the youngest Jonas brother? Did he do a good job? Or just kind of sit there?...

Simon Cowell might just be a genius. An hour into Wednesday night’s X Factor episode, all I could think was “Just an hour and change till the series premiere of Nashville!”
A mere 45 minutes later, however, the state of my mental health rested entirely in the fates of a lady rapper from Flint, Mi, who fancies a sequined eyepatch; a trio of Texas sisters who look like they’ve been perpetually trapped inside a tampon ad; five (possibly six) teenage boys glued together by Simon Cowell’s sweat and Marc Anthony’s tears (it’s hard to keep count...

"I'm so excited! …It's definitely the year of the teens on @TheXFactorUSA! #Winners #BritneysTeens," posted Spears.
"Young Adults = #dreamteam. You guys are awesome!!!," wrote Demi.
As for the boys, Simon Cowell happily took on the groups with his co-mentor Marc Anthony while L.A. Reid, with pop sensation Justin Bieber, not so cheerfully received the over-25s.

Britney Spears, Demi Lovato, L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell have a better idea what they're in for this season on The X Factor. Following weeks of talent scouting, the foursome learned who they would be mentoring on Wednesday night.

Alongside guest mentor Will.I.Am, Spears was paired with the teens while Lovato received the young adults (17-24 years) with close pal Nick Jonas.
The girls were happy about their assignments, taking to Twitter to express their delight.

A number of crimes involving the male torso went down on Thursday night’s installment of The X Factor. Simon Cowell rocked a neckline that plunged dangerously close to his netherregions. A member of boy band Emblem3 wore suspenders — without a shirt! (I’ll pause for a moment while you fight back the acrid taste of bile). And oh the sounds that got caught and killed in the chests of fresh-faced Willie Jones and wheelchair-bound Freddie Combs! (We’ll just assume the former’s were low and rumbly, in a bebeh-lock-them-dawwrs kinda way, and the latter’s were tremulous and overbaked.

The X Factor was in a precarious position Wednesday night — and I’m not just talking about the way it drove a bespectacled 12-year-old boy to openly weep for his mommy.
Indeed, Fox’s jewel-encrusted, aggressive and occasionally gassy reality singing competition had to serve as an amuse-bouche for the main course: The first 2012 presidential debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.
How to strike a tone, then, that could serve as appropriate lead-in to a verbal battle to become leader of the free world: An old-fashoned girlfight between two lovely ladies and their respective versions of Whitney Houston’s...

Bring on the dancing dogs! America’s Got X Factor finished its Season 2 auditions Thursday night, and I, for one, can’t wait to see how the Pekingese and the Poodle fare when they get to Boot Camp.
Okay, okay, I’m being a cranky beast from Hades, but Thursday night’s X Factor installment felt more like NBC’s summer variety special than a search for a legitimate musical superstar. There was the 13-year-old kid who passed out backstage from “dehydration” — a dark part of my brain imagined him whispering “Mom, did you slip my that Rohypnol like I asked you to?...

Wednesday night’s X Factor ended with the image of a 13-year-old boy collapsed in a heap in his mother’s lap, a flurry of producers and medics trying to figure out if he’d live or if he’d eventually die of embarrassment at the hands of Simon Cowell.
I’m not sure if the incident was a clever indictment of the lengths today’s youth will go to for a chance at fame, or just a happy (medical) accident that the show’s producers cynically used to fill out yet another two-hour audition episode. Maybe it was both.

As just about any reality-show contestant will tell you, God maintains an encyclopedic knowledge of/a keen rooting interest in the outcome of everything from Big Brother to RuPaul’s Drag Race to The X Factor.
Thursday night’s installment of the last-named of those shows put an exclamation point on this fact, as lightning, heavy winds, and torrential downpours contributed to a power outage that put the kibosh on a brutal batch of auditions from Greensboro, Nc. (All together now: “Thaaaaank God!”)

Despite Simon Cowell being absent from the majority of Wednesday night's X Factor show, the Fox series went off without a hitch in its second week. The judge was missed while sick, but something tells us the contestants breathed a sigh of relief when they found out they didn't have to perform in front of him for that one taping.
Big singers of the evening (and our picks for this week) include Vino Alan, Tate Stevens, Diamond White and Alley Brooke. Several other honorable mentions include Brandon Hassan, Sister C and Jeremiah and Josh.

I’m going to come right out and say it: This Wednesday’s X Factor was the show’s best episode ever — and partially because its stars included a pretty boy who spent what felt like 45 minutes debating whether or not to pop his collar, a trio of smokin’-hot sisters, a man who found a controversial (possibly deadly?) solution to male pattern baldness and a heavy-set black woman named Panda who got carried out on a stretcher. (Spoiler alert: All of ‘em advanced to Boot Camp!)
I know, I know, you’re reading this and saying “The X Factor is barely out of diapers.
