Launched in 2015 as one of the first Fast services by a device manufacturer, Samsung TV Plus has steadily expanded its reach and content offering to deliver more than 220 channels in the U.S., over 1,600 channels globally, and over 50 owned-and-operated channels spanning news, sports, entertainment and more worldwide.

The tech company announced a rebranding Tuesday of Samsung TV Plus, which originally launched in 2015 as one of the early entrants into the Fast space. As part of the rebranding, Samsung is promoting its premium content offerings, which include Law & Order Special Victims Unit and NCIS, as well as the launch of new original content, including its first auto-focused channel, Ride or Drive.
Samsung TV Plus will also double its video-on-demand library in 2023 through partnerships with Lionsgate, Vice Media and more. The rebranding will also include a new logo for the service.
The content, which includes more than 200 channels in the U.S. and more than 1,600 globally, is free on Samsung’s 2016-2022 Smart TVs and Galaxy devices, as well as on some models of its Family Hub refrigerators, beginning with those in the U.

Hulu has renewed praised comedy series Shrill for a third season, Deadline has confirmed. The streaming platform has ordered eight episodes, the same as Season 2.

“Shrill” has been renewed for a third season at Hulu, Variety has learned.
The third season will consist of eight episodes. The first season of the series was just six episodes while the second was also eight. The news comes just over two months after the launch of Season 2 on the streamer.
The comedy series is based on the book “Shrill: Notes from a Loud Woman” by Lindy West, who co-created the show along with Aidy Bryant and Ali Rushfield. Bryant also stars in the series with Rushfield serving as showrunner.
The show follows Annie (Bryant), a fat young woman who wants to change her life — but not her body. Annie tried to start her career while juggling bad boyfriends, a sick parent, and a perfectionist boss. Apple is nearing a series order for a comedy starring “Saturday Night Live” cast member Cecily Strong.
The series follows a couple on a backpacking trip designed to reinvigorate their relationship when they discover the magical town of Schmigadoon, in which everyone acts as if they’re in a studio musical from the 1940s. They then discover that they can’t leave until they find “true love.”
Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio of the “Despicable Me” franchise created the series, with Paul also set to serve as showrunner and Daurio as consulting producer.
