Exclusive: Rachel Brosnahan, the lead of Amazon’s breakout comedy series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, has renegotiated her deal, landing a big salary increase, I have learned. I hear co-star Tony Shalhoub also has completed his contract renegotiation with Amazon Studios while fellow co-star Alex Borstein is in the final stages of hers.
Noone would comment but I hear that Brosnahan will more than triple her previous salary, making about $300,000 an episode in the upcoming third season. She was lesser known than her co-stars at the outset, and I hear she had to audition for the role, which has since made her a household name (and an SNL host). In addition to her salary, I hear Brosnahan is poised to get a piece of the series’ backend among other things.

It’s been a longtime TV industry tradition for the cast of successful series to renegotiate their contracts and get salary bumps after the first two seasons.
The practice has been employed by the broadcast networks for decades, with NBC’s This Is Us as a recent example, and also has been adopted by the streaming platforms, illustrated by the recent salary bumps after Season 2 for the actors of Netflix’s Stranger Things and 13 Reasons Why. Add Amazon’s breakout dramedy The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel to the list.
Originally picked up with a two-season order, the period series from Amy Sherman-Palladino was renewed for a third season in May, months ahead of its November premiere. Since its launch, Mrs. Maisel has been an awards juggernaut, winning a slew of top awards, including Emmys and Golden Globes.

Between his stints on Supernatural, Battlestar Galactica and Leverage, Mark Sheppard is a familiar face to many fandoms. And on this Sunday’s episode of Leverage, fans hoping to see the face of wise-cracking Interpool agent James Sterling again will get their fix when he joins the team for a job on the show’s summer finale.
“It’s been a joy playing this character from the start,” says Sheppard, whose character was last seen in season 2. “The basis for this character is Sterling never loses. And if you put Sterling into a situation with other people who never lose...
