Organizers for Michael Jackson tribute concert have apologized for recruiting Kiss as one of the performers at the upcoming remembrance event. They admitted that the booking was an "oversight" on their part, and quickly fixed it up by removing the masked hard rock band from the line-up.
"We have listened to Michael's fans and are grateful to have been alerted to some unfortunate statements made by Gene Simmons about Michael," said Global Events Live CEO Chris Hunt. "Under the circumstances we fully agree that even though Kiss is a band Michael admired its members should not appear in our tribute concert."
On August 15 soon after Kiss were announced as the new performer, Mj's devotees and the executors of Michael Jackson Estate went furious and spoke up their protest. They called the participation of the band was an insult to the late King of Pop due to Gene's statement back in 2010.

Kiss have been pulled from playing at a Michael Jackson tribute concert. The Rock and Roll All Nite band were axed from the lineup today (16.08.11) after fans of the late Thriller hitmaker brought previous comments by the group's bassist Gene Simmons, in which he was quoted as saying the pop star had 'molested' some children, to the attention of the gig's organisers Global Live Events. Gene was thought to have referred to numerous allegations directed at the Beat It singer, who was acquitted of child molestation in 2005. Chris Hunt, CEO of Global Live Events, told news channel CNN: 'We have...

Los Angeles — Organizers of a Michael Jackson tribute concert dropped Kiss from the lineup after receiving widespread criticism for booking the band despite critical comments toward the late pop singer by bassist Gene Simmons.
The announcement Tuesday came a day after Global Live Events announced Kiss would join the show planned for Oct. 8 in Cardiff, Wales. Fans, media and the singer's estate quickly noted that Simmons has said in recent years that he was convinced Jackson molested children. Some of the critical comments came within days of Jackson's June 2009 death.
Jackson was acquitted of molestation charges after a 2005 trial in California.
Some of Simmons' harshest comments came last year in an interview with Classic Rock magazine. "Well, you know, where there's smoke there's fire," Simmons said regarding accusations that Jackson abused young boys. "There's no question in my mind he molested those kids. Not a doubt."
