Joe Rogan learned in real-time during his Thursday podcast that Disney ordered Ufc 249 to be postponed, the event being only nine days away.
Rogan was in shock but admitted he was not 100 percent on board to commentate and do post-fight interviews over his own concerns about the novel coronavirus.
Ufc 249 was set to air on ESPN+ on April 18; Ufc president Dana White said he moved the event to a private island (it is unclear which).

Fury and Suicide Squad director David Ayer is working with Shia Labeouf again in his latest film project The Tax Collector and he's released our first look at the actor in his role. As you can see, Labeouf is looking as crazy as ever in this first image from the crime thriller.
There are no details on the story to share yet, but it will be set in Los Angeles and Labeouf will be joined by Bobby Soto (For the People), Lana Parrilla (Once Upon a Time), George Lopez (Lopez) and Brendan Schaub (The Fighter & the Kid).
Ayer most recently worked on Netflix fantasy crime-thriller Bright and is also set to write and direct the sequel, based on an original script. I personally like a lot of Ayer's film work and Labeouf may be a little nuts, but he's a talented actor, so The Tax Collector is a film that...

The Joker origins film will cover a younger, bullied version of the character...
Last week came the news that a Joker origins movie is in the words at Warner Bros. Martin Scorsese is set to produce the film, with The Hangover director Todd Phillips set to direct. This project is independent of Jared Leto’s take on The Joker, with Leto set for at least two more films as Batman’s most famous nemesis too.
One or two new details about the Joker origins projects have now arrived via a slightly different source too. Former Mma fighter Brendan Schaub has appeared on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, and his agent is Todd Feldman. Feldman also represents Todd Phillips. And Schaub said of the Joker project that “my boy Todd Feldman put this together with Todd Phillips”.

It's still hard to believe Martin Scorsese is producing a Joker movie. But that's the truth, the DC villain and Batman nemesis will get an origin story directed by The Hangover helmer Todd Phillips and overseen by the master of the modern gangster movie. Last we heard, the standalone non-dceu effort would be set in the '80s in a crime-ridden Gotham City with a new actor in the role. Now we've got an update from an odd source. Here's what we've learned: What is the new info? "It’s dark. It’s like a dark Joker. As a kid, he had a permanent smile and everyone made fun of him. It’s like on the streets of Brooklyn. It’s super dark and real." Who said that? Mma fighter turned actor Brendan Schaub (Range 15...

It was recently announced that DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. were developing a Joker origin film with producer Martin Scorsese and director Todd Phillips. I was actually pretty shocked by this news, mostly because of the talent involved with it. For some reason, I never thought I'd see Scorsese involved with a comic book film project like this.
We already know that the movie will feature a different actor in the role other than Jared Leto, and that actor would possibly be younger. According to some new information that has surfaced, we might just be seeing The Joker as a kid.
The following information comes from an unlikely source. That source is Mma Fighter turned actor Brendan Schaub, who is apparently friends with Todd Phillips’ agent Todd Feldman, which is where he got his information. While a guest on the Joe Rogan Experience, Schaub dropped the following bit of info:

The verdict is still out on whether or not the DC Extended Universe will have a long and healthy life, but Warner Bros. is taking some interesting steps that an positively affect their properties, should it not. Last week, it was revealed that director Todd Phillips and producer Martin Scorsese were in talks to develop an origin story for the Joker.
Unlike any of the DC films that had hit in recent years, the Joker origin film won’t be a part of the Dceu. This will allow the filmmakers not to be restricted by any of the the preexisting canon, and will give them the room to actually tell the story they want to tell. Considering that Warner Bros. had considered themselves a director-focused studio, this is fantastic news, and could lead to more Dark Knight-caliber DC flicks.

Like it or not – and most people seem to be in the latter category – Warner Bros. is pushing ahead with an origin story film for one of the most iconic characters in any medium: The Joker. Coming to us from Martin Scorsese and Todd Phillips, the project’s announcement sent shockwaves through the internet, and rightfully so, but if you ask us, it’s best to just wait and see what the studio actually has planned here before rushing to judgement.
That being said, we can certainly see where the critics are coming from. After all, the character’s history is meant to be vague. The mystery is what appeals to us, since we don’t know much about who he is or where he came from. Many turn up at Ufc and Bellator events, eagerly taking in each fight from the crowd. Some have even decided to get in on the action, training sometimes simply for their health and own personal development, and other times to take professional fights.
While the cross-overs of professional wrestling stars like Brock Lesnar and Phil “Cm Punk” Brooks have been well documented, there are many other athletes from multiple sports to have made the jump. Some, like the NFL’s Brendan Schaub, are now better known as a fighter than as members of their original sport. Others, however, just dabbled in mixed martial arts – so you may not have...

Ufc 181 was the promotion’s biggest, and most successful, card since Ufc 175 back in the summer, which coincidentally also featured two title fights (Chris Weidman taking on Lyoto Machida, and Ronda Rousey meeting Alexis Davis). Ufc Fight Night 51 went down Saturday night in Brasilia, Brazil, and marked headliner Antonio Silva’s first ever fight in his home country. It’s an almost unheard of statistic given that Silva’s career has spanned nearly a decade; most fighters work their way up from the regional circuit after all, and this is especially true in Brazil, where there a lot of options for up and coming fighters.
His opponent, Andrei Arlovski, was looking to improve on a successful yet anti-climatic start to his second Ufc run. His first bout back, at Ufc 174, resulted in a close but dull split decision win over Brendan Schaub.
The two fighters had met once before, in 2010 under the Strikeforce banner. There, Bigfoot Silva fought “The Pitbull” to a decision, picking up the unanimous decision victory over the former Ufc champion.

The Ufc’s next event sees them returning to Brazil yet again for Ufc Fight Night 51 in Brasilia, a card that will feature the second bout between heavyweights Andrei Arlovski and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva. Their first meeting took place under the Strikforce banner in 2010, and ended with a unanimous decision victory for Bigfoot. This time around, Arlovski will be looking for redemption, while Silva has stated he’s looking to finish the Pitbull. Silva will definitely be motivated, headling the card in his home country, which may give him the edge over Arlovski, who won his return bout to the Ufc by taking a close decision over Brendan Schaub at Ufc 174.
The rest of the card features mainly Brazilian fighters in bouts where you can expect them to be favoured, a troubling trend in the Ufc of late, and if you’re not a hardcore fan, you may want to...

Flyweight champ Demetrious Johnson had his belt on the line at Ufc 174 Vancouver Saturday night.
How would the champion fare? How would the return of Andrei Arlovski play out, and which Rory MacDonald would show up?
The card opened with a bout between Canadian robot-dancer and fastest knockout in Ufc history holder Ryan Jimmo going up against surging Ovince St. Preux, who scored a win with a Von Flue choke in his last fight. Holder of a calf slicer submission earlier in his career, St. Pruex’s submission arsenal is impressive, though he hasn’t actually finished with many. That seems as if it’s going to change. This bout was tough to watch due to the finish – as Ovince, who has really come on of late, worked on a kimura in the second round, Jimmo called out that his arm was broken, and the fight was stopped.

Ufc 174 poses an intriguing, yet unspectacular card on paper. That has been the common theme for pay-per-views in June in recent years. We’ve seen the Ufc focus on the Fourth of July weekend card, because it’s one of the biggest weekends of the year. If you look at Ufc 175, you can tell once again that they’ve focused on making that card special.
That leaves Ufc 174 with far less star power and less appealing match-ups to casual fans. The main card is still relatively solid, which is headlined by one of the top pound for pound fighters in the world in Demetrious Johnson. He faces Ali Bagautinov, who has looked impressive in his Ufc career so far. His wrestling and grappling excellence could prove to be Johnson’s match.
Rory MacDonald vs. Tyron Woodley remains a big matchup, despite it being removed as a number one contender’s bout.

Who says you can’t go home again?
Ufc 174 on June 14th in Vancouver marks the return of Andrei Arlovski, former Ufc champion, following his surprise signing by the organization this past April. One of the few legendary former champions still active, Arlovski, he of the vicious strikes, kicks, and fanged mouth guard, has managed to create something of a late-career resurgence, and while another run at the title may be unlikely, he remains without question a top-tier heavyweight in a division that is both notoriously thin and volatile. Fortunes can change with a single punch in this weight class, something The Pit Bull knows only too well, having dished out, and taken, more than his share of KOs. With over 400 of the world’s finest fighters being signed to the Ufc, it was inevitable that some names would disappointingly be left out of EA Sports forthcoming Ufc game. The insane detail in which the game’s character models are rendered would mean that the title would be far too big and take far too long to create for everyone’s favourite fighters to be featured. Thankfully, EA have promised that select fighters will become available to purchase as Dlc after the game’s release.
However, some of the omissions from the games starting roster of 99 fighters are so egregious that it is shocking that EA were able to justify leaving them out. Some fighters who have been included in the initial roster seem far less deserving of a place than those who have not made the cut. The decisions as to which fighters were included is – at times – baffling.

There are plenty of illusions in sports that fans allow to assume reality. We’re all guilty of, at one time or another, telling ourselves that this year is the year for our team. I know I’ve convinced myself on numerous occasions that my team’s latest acquisition would not be a bust even though he is known as an underachiever. And who hasn’t truly believed that their guy could defeat the heavy favorite? That’s what being a sports fan is all about. There is one misconception, however, that we all happily accept as truth because, without it, sports would mean nothing.
