After finding his family murdered by vagrant squatters, an ex-military operative and survivalist is hired by the man who bought his land to watch over the acreage and protect it from invaders. When the new landowner’s daughter arrives for a weekend getaway with her friends, the trip turns deadly when they discover the caretaker’s dark secret – rather than driving off trespassers, he’s hunting them in cold blood.
A group of college kids on spring break, driving out to the middle of nowhere to stay for a holiday of fun filled fun? Must be a horror film then! Despite starting like so many other films in its genre, Desecrated does, thankfully, provide an interesting viewing experience once it gets going. Ben, played by Gonzalo Menendez,...

The particularly nasty Desecrated – coming at you from director Rob Garcia and writer Cecil Chambers – is a slasher film with all the usual ingredients you’d find in such a film – nubile ladies, nasty deaths and quite a sick attitude to the horror itself.
Desecrated’s story is an interest beast though. Never mind the fancy heiress and her group of friends heading to her father’s house for a weekend getaway only to find dark secrets – that part is fairly routine. What’s interesting here with the story is that it’s looking at someone deeply troubled with Pdst and riffing on how that could manifest.
Don’t be alarmed – I haven’t ruined the plot, as it’s an element referenced pretty early on and definitely not all there is to the rather surprising story.
What slasher fans need to realise is...

Desecrated is an indie horror feature from first time feature film director Rob Garcia. The film involves a piece of land, which is guarded by a very strange man. Desecrated stars Haylie Duff (Napoleon Dynamite) and Michael Ironside (Starship Troopers). To release January 6th, 2015, a preview for the film is here. Several friends head out on a peaceful weekend getaway. Their plans are interrupted by a security guard, who takes his job much too seriously. Now, the friends are being tracked and stalked by a serial killer! A trailer for Desecrated was released earlier this year. Fans of horror can preview the clip below. The trailer introduces several of the characters and some of the killer's murderous tools. As well, a couple more stills have been released for the film. Viewers can find the photos below. The stills show the friends camping on a remote ranch. All the details on...

Bigfoot? Werewolf? A hairy beast unto itself? Not sure what exactly the titular beast of the new Spanish language creature feature The Mountain Wailer is, but you most certainly do not want to hear its cry.
Written and directed by Rob Garcia for new production company Draconic Pictures, The Mountain Wailer tells the horrifying tale of an unfortunate encounter with a legendary beast that prowls the mountainsides of Venezuela. There's very little information about The Mountain Wailer at this time, but given it is being produced by Lionsgate subsidiary Tigergate, odds are we will be finding it on DVD shelves in the United States in the future.
Here's the short teaser for this monstrous movie.
Thanks to Avery Guerra for the tip.
