In “Hard Lessons”: River (Lowden) races to the Barbican Bridge and meets James “Spider” Webb (Freddie Fox), acting on behalf of the kidnappers who have threatened his family. Webb instructs River to steal the Prime Minister’s vetting file from MI5 headquarters before midday or Standish (Saskia Reeves) will be killed. At the Park, River evades Nick Duffy (Chris Reilly), the head of the Dogs, and gradually works his way into the records department after stealing a security pass from another Dog, Hobbs (Chris Coghill). Italian metal masters Lacuna Coil have unveiled a new single titled “Hosting the Shadow” featuring guest vocals from Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe.
The song marks another new stand-alone single from Lacuna Coil, who earlier this year unveiled the track “In the Mean Time” featuring New Years Day singer Ash Costello.
Get Lamb of God Tickets Here
While Lacuna Coil are already known for their dual vocal attack from Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro, Blythe takes the band’s sound to a new extreme. After an extended instrumental intro, the Lamb of God singer’s voice is heard first on the song, as he delivers his signature growl in the verses, where he is eventually joined by Ferro. Scabbia’s clean singing then arrives in the melodic chorus.
“‘Hosting the Shadow’ is a trip through light and dark, where silence reveals its hidden secrets,” stated Lacuna Coil. “Obscure moments can become occasions to evolve,...

BBC Studios have formed a new division for U.K. entertainment to be headed by Suzy Lamb, Variety has learned.
The new unit comes after Studios, the BBC’s commercial arm which produces content sold around the world, merged its entertainment/music and factual entertainment/events divisions, which produced content including the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest, King Charles III’s coronation party and shows such as “Strictly Come Dancing” and “The Weakest Link.”
By splitting off U.K. entertainment the aim is to allow Lamb and her team to focus on the development/production/format sales pipeline more efficiently. Lamb, who was previously managing director of the entertainment and music unit, will oversee creative, commercial and operational strategy. She will report to Matt Forde, head of BBC Studios’ global entertainment business.
Among the shows the new U.K. division will produce are the BBC’s Glastonbury coverage, “Strictly Come Dancing” and “Alison Hammond’s Big Weekend.

Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Gary Oldman is entering the “Slow Horses” episode “Footprints” as his 2024 Emmy Award submission for Best Drama Actor. “Footprints” aired on December 27, 2023, and is the sixth and final episode of the Apple TV+ drama’s third season.
In “Footprints”: Hobbs (Chris Coghill) and Sturges (Nick Blood) storm the Dunn house, however are outmaneuvered by Lamb (Oldman), who rigs the house with booby traps. Sarah (Eliot Salt) strangles Sturges to death after a brief struggle, while Lamb kills Hobbs. Donovan (Sope Dirisu) sacrifices himself to allow River (Jack Lowden) and Guy (Rosalind Eleazar) to escape the file storage facility with the “Footprint” file. Lamb tells Standish (Saskia Reeves) that her hero, Charles Partner (James Faulkner), was a traitor who was using her, leading a devastated Standish to resign from Slough House. “Comply Slowly” was written by Will Smith and directed by Saul Metzstein.

Now that Democrats have coalesced around Vice President Kamala Harris as their presumptive nominee in the 2024 election, the party has been free to use a line of attack on Donald Trump that he and Republicans had leveled at President Biden: He’s too old, he’s in cognitive decline, and he’s lost touch with reality.
A normal candidate might try to counter those claims by staying on message and avoiding any mention of mental asylums. Trump is apparently uninterested in such a strategy, and has therefore continued to include...

“It’s the best of both worlds,” declares “Slow Horses” star Jack Lowden. For our recent webchat he adds, “It has this super intrigue and sexiness of the world of espionage that’s never boring to look at, but it also has the workplace element, with a dreadful boss and a terrible working environment that I imagine most people around the world can relate to at some point in their lives. It’s that mashup that’s so fantastic, and that’s actually what Mick Herron, the author of the novel said that he wanted to do a workplace drama thriller,” he explains, adding with a grin that “he chose espionage because nobody knows anything about espionage, so nobody can tell him if he just makes stuff up.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.

Mark Lamb, a Trumpy, far-right county sheriff, has declared his candidacy to be Arizona Republicans’ nominee to replace Kyrsten Sinema in the Senate. He is the first big-name Republican to throw his hat — a broad-brimmed stetson — into the ring.
Lamb, 50, looks like a Playmobil sheriff brought to life. He’s the top lawman in Pinal County (think: exurban to Phoenix) and a lightning rod for controversy. Lamb is a big fan of militias, and even formed a civilian “posse” aimed at “suppressing lawlessness” in the wake of the murder of George Floyd in 2020.

Ahhhhh I Haven’T Bought A Single Christmas Gift??!!
I hate this crass commercial holiday! Where’S My Spiked Eggnog?!
In other news, it looks like next Wednesday will be devoid of any new releases besides a few DC/Marvel titles, which explains why this week was overloaded with both new titles to review and new issues in the ongoing series I’m already evaluating in this column. As a result, what you’re getting this week is two fresh properties and the second issue of A Voice In The Dark, because I’m really interested in seeing how that comic goes, but you’re Also going to see comics from This week reviewed Next week. However, those will all be the latest issues of ‘Pretty Deadly’, ‘Bloodhound’ and ‘Umbral’, because they’re less likely to fly off the shelf as quickly, although honestly, you should probably just grab ‘Pretty...

Who said Jessica Alba‘s children are too young to be involved in her charity work?
The actress — and co-founder of The Honest Company — is already taking action when it comes to teaching her daughters Honor Marie, 4, and Haven Garner, 13 months, the benefits of giving back.
“I talk to Honor about not wasting and recycling. I talk to her about having so many things and that there are children out there who don’t have what she has,” Alba, 31, told People at Self magazine‘s Women Doing Good Awards on Wednesday.
