Note to self: Do not tick off Westworld‘s Dolores.
The HBO sci-fi drama released an new trailer Thursday, offering a bloodier more in-depth look at what form the animatronic hosts’ uprising will take in Season 2. Evan Rachel Wood’s Dolores is, naturally, front and center in the nearly three-minute preview. And though she’s often shown speaking with a seemingly confused Bernard, she’s also depicted laying gory waste to those who get in her way.
Also of note: Maeve demands Lee take her to her daughter and appears wearing a kimono in one shot. Perhaps this is our...

AMC is rounding out its cast for Dietland, its 10-episode straight-to-series darkly comedic drama based on Sarai Walker’s novel. Dietland, from Marti Noxon (UnReal), Skydance TV and AMC Studios, is set against the backdrop of the beauty industry. It follows Plum Kettle (Nash), an obese woman who is preparing for weight-loss surgery when her world is upturned by two rival feminist factions. Caught between old ideas and radical new extremes, Plum must decide for herself what it means to be a revolutionary as the “war of the sexes” becomes literal.
Scott plays Stanley Austen, a one-time industry titan whose influence and clout as the head of the Austen Media empire is threatened...

Paul Thomas Anderson’s legion of fans will get their chance to see the filmmaker’s latest Inherent Vice – at least those in New York and L.A. after a long build-up of anticipation. Studio Warner Bros. is handling the director’s latest, set in a drug-laced L.A. in the 1970s. Barring some unforeseen cataclysm, the feature is easily going to be this week’s b.o. superstar and likely one of the year’s biggest per screen debuts. How it will fare against other fall b.o. knock-outs like Searchlight’s Birdman or TWC’s The Imitation Game remains to be seen. A slew of Specialty openers will coincide with the Inherent Vice juggernaut. A24 will open Oscar-nominated filmmaker Atom Egoyan’s The Captive day and date after an early fall bow in the director’s native Canada. Sundance Selects will expose Free The Nipple in New York...
