Earlier this week on “Australian Survivor: Blood V Water,” Mark Wales was declared the winner of the 500,000 grand prize by a unanimous 10-0-0 jury vote over co-runners-up Shay Lajoie and Chrissy Zaremba. It was a decisive victory to be sure, as only a small handful of “Survivor” winners can brag about winning over the entire jury. But some fans aren’t feeling the love.
In fact, in our recent poll conducted after the finale, only 27 of Aussie viewers voted that Mark deserved to win. At 65 support, Shay earned a vast majority of the votes. Chrissy trailed with 8 of the poll results.

Perhaps if “Australian Survivor” had a fan-voted honor for the season’s favorite player, like the American version used to, Shay would claim that prize? “I’m so angry, poor Shay got robbed!” declared “Survivor” watcher Natalie in our comments section. Fellow fan Jazz agreed,...

Warning: The article contains spoilers for the season finale of “Australian Survivor: Blood V Water”!
On April 4, the 10-person jury of “Australian Survivor” voted unanimously to award the 500,000 grand prize to Mark Wales. Co-runners-up Shay Lajoie and Chrissy Zaremba both received zero votes. Host Jonathan Lapaglia live-tweeted the finale, and he suspects Shay’s poor jury management is part of the reason why she failed to earn a single vote. “Damn….the Jury were clearly not happy with Shay’s self appointed 8/10 for game play….but adding an extra half point was the salt in the wound,” he wrote.

Only two episodes and five players remain in the “Blood V Water” hunt to find the next “Australian Survivor.” This season we saw the American Queen Sandra Diaz-Twine journey to the Down Under with her daughter Nina Twine to compete as one of 12 pairs of loved ones in the “blood versus water” format of the reality TV franchise. With no pair left standing together in the game, the final two installments of the season will determine whether Chrissy Zaremba, Josh Millgate, Kj Austin, Mark Wales or Shay Lajoie outplayed, outwitted and outlasted 23 others to become the latest “sole Survivor.”
Below, we lay out our “Australian Survivor” finale power rankings of the Top 5, assessing first how likely it is for each of them to make the Final 3 and second how much of the jury is poised to actually consider them worthy of the prize. Do you agree with our take on...
