This past year, actress Michelle Ang’s performance in the web series “Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462” garnered her an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series. But Ang’s work in 2016 doesn’t stop there, as she also co-stars in the new indie drama “Fallen Stars” alongside Ryan O’Nan (“Fargo,” “Ray Donovan”), which will finally see a theatrical release this week.

Chicago – Bring up the name Ed Asner, and immediately his legendary TV character Lou Grant comes to mind. Asner created the only TV character to successfully transition from a sitcom – “Mary Tyler Moore” – to the cutting-edge TV drama “Lou Grant.” But Asner has also been steadily working since those days, including his latest film “Let Go.”
“Let Go” is a crazy quilt ensemble comedy, following the exploits of a parole officer (David Denman). One of his clients include Artie, portrayed by Ed Asner. The iconic TV and film actor gives a subtle late career performance as a small time robber who can’t understand why things change. There is a beautiful scene with Asner and actress Peggy McKay at the conclusion of the film, as Artie makes one last attempt at redemption. Ed Asner is no lion in winter, he is still roaring.

For writer and director Brian Jett, he couldn't have asked for a better ensemble with which to make his feature film debut, "Let Go." Starring David Denham (aka Roy from "The Office"), Kevin Hart, "Community" star Gillian Jacobs, Ed Asner and more, the indie comedy finds a number of characters and lives interconnecting. "Let Go" follows Walter Dishman (Denman), a melancholy parole officer struggling with the doldrums of married life, and three eccentric ex-convicts that were recently placed under his supervision: Darla DeMint (Jacobs), a sultry femme fatale on the run from a psychopathic ex-boyfriend that she stole from and whose heart she has broken; Artie (Asner), a cranky geriatric criminal whose feeble attempts to resume his life of crime are continually thwarted; and Kris Styles (Hart), an Ivy League-educated doctor who is forced to take the most menial jobs imaginable to satisfy the conditions of his parole. These two.

If there is anything more lovable in the world of entertainment than the Pixar film "Up" and the NBC sitcom "Community," we don't want to know about them; surely, their sweetness would trigger some sort early onset diabetes.
We will, however, make one exception: anything that combines the two quirky romps cannot go unappreciated. And as such, we draw your attention to the trailer to "Let Go," the indie dramedy from writer/director Brian Jett. The film, despite its low budget and lack of Us distributor, boasts an impressive cast that features gorgeously quirky "Community" star Gillian Jacobs and the irascible voice of everyone's favorite globe-trotting crank, Ed Asner.
David Denman is the featured lead in the film, playing a parole officer to Jacobs, Asner and comedian Kevin Hart. As is obvious from the opening line, he's none-too-happy with his life, and, presumably, the quirky trio of cases will help...

Newly debuted by The Wrap is an official trailer for the indie dramedy Let Go, written & directed by Brian Jett, and starring an intriguing ensemble cast of comedic actors including the stunning and talented "Community" star Gillian Jacobs, "Traffic Light's" David Denman, comedian Kevin Hart, old-timer Ed Asner, with Simon Helberg, Kali Hawk and Garrett Morris. Denman plays a parole officer and Jacobs one of the eccentric ex-cons he's watching. It looks quite dramatic, and funny in darker ways, but still good.
