Necromentia has one of the most surreal, f'ed up moments in film I have ever seen. It's a bouncy ball sing-along song passed to Pearry from Satan himself, and as the song literally comes around the corner, it brings the nightmares with it. While pondering it, the only thing I could think to compare it to was Dahmer trepaning a young Asian boy who escaped and was found dazed and half naked by the cops. Dahmer somehow convinced the police it was a lover's quarrel while blood flowed from the boy's head, and later proceeded to store the young man in his fridge. The clip of this moment will be watched over and over on youtube, it's that twisted.
Yes, Pearry Teo is much loved around these parts, and...

A love story set in the backdrop of hell "Necromentia" is an unreleased horror feature that offers three intertwined stories in a non-linear story-telling fashion. Centering around the characters Morbius, Hagen, and Travis each character interacts with the others while searching for love despite the pain of betrayal and the hopelessness of recovery from dementia. From the puzzling script of Stephanie Joyce (April's Last) and the creative direction of Pearry Theo (The Gene Generation) "Necromentia" is a horrifying glimpse at death magic and the underworld.
Beginning with Hagen (Santiago Craig) believing his girlfriend will return to him despite the difficulties of death the picture quickly introduces the charismatic Travis (Chad Grimes) who is searching for a reconnection with his lost brother Tommy. Using black magic and trickery Hagen is sent to the underworld as a "guinea pig" to return with the soul of...

Director Pearry Teo unleashes graphic film "Necromentia," for horror film fans in France this May 16 and North America later this year, likely October '09 from one source. A very dark film dealing with portals to the other world "Necromentia," highlights the makeup of Kim Collea (Autopsy, Ironman) and despite a moderate budget of $300,000 looks quite shocking. Potentially available in North America this Fall 2009 initial fan reaction to the promotional material, including trailer and several posters, is positive. Have a look at the full cast information on this completed movie project and the first teaser for "Necromentia," here.

When last I spoke with Pearry (Gene Generation review trailer) he was working on possibly directing the comic adaptation of Dark Oz (interview), and while we don't know the status of that, it turns out he's shooting a short film he co-wrote with Julie Kimbrell called Necromentia which is a sequel to his short Liberata Me. Word is the final cut has been finished for some time now and it supposedly looks amazing, clocking in at about 30 minutes. Following is the full synopsis and the teaser is after the break.
Update: I just got an email from Pearry and good news, Beliberg Entertainment is providing funding to expand Necromentia into a feature length film and shooting will finish in November. Stephanie Joyce is also attached by Bleiberg as writer/producer.
Update 2: Pearry sent over one sweet poster that has to do with part of the storyline for the film,...
