Exclusive: Veteran BBC producer Esther Springer has left after two decades to join fledgling creative indie Creators Inc.’s TV and film division.
Creators Inc. was quietly formed late last year by British advertising guru Jani Guest, the former MD of BAFTA-winning ads producer Independent Films, along with Debbie Mason, the founder of Broadchurch indie Kudos and former Ingenious Media Exec Jamie Jessop. Mason is President of TV and Film and Jessop is COO of Creators Inc.
Adopting a model similar to Gangs of London producer Pulse Films, the indie is split between three divisions: film and TV, docs and audio, and commercial, with Springer joining in March as Creative Director, TV and Film to help advance the slate with a focus on high-end projects for both international and domestic audiences.
Creators Inc. also represents directors including Guy Ritchie, Cary Joji Fukunaga and Boiling Point’s Philip Barantini for commercials.

Amm Global, a production and investment company spun out of Hong Kong’s Asia Television, and Phoenix Waters Productions have announced “Crypto Keepers,” which they claim will be Asia’s first Nft drama series.
NFTs or non-fungible tokens, which aim to lock in the value of digital intellectual property, have taken the art and music worlds by storm and are now being expanded into more traditional media spheres.
The drama, an English and Cantonese language hybrid, is planned to shoot across multiple countries with the fictional narrative taking place against a backdrop of real events, with figures in the cryptocurrency space appearing on the show. It will be presented as 12 episodes, executive directed by Philip Ma, and delivered in 2022. The producers have not yet finalized a distribution company.
The story follows a group of young Hongkongers competing with a team of American bankers to create the next Bitcoin-like digital currency.

Asia Television, previously Hong Kong’s number two free-to-air broadcaster, may no longer be visible on local TV screens. But the ex-broadcaster is now being recast as a content studio, with its new offshoot Amm Global leading the charge.
The division is headed by Bizhan Tong, a Chinese-British former banker turned filmmaker (“The Escort”). He joined the company after directing “Lockdown,” a U.K.-Hong Kong co-venture film produced and co-financed by Tong’s Phoenix Waters Productions, Hong Kong asset management firm Yg Capital, and Amm Global. International sales are handled jointly by Amm Global and US firm OneTwoThree.
The movie, being launched at FilMart, is a pandemic-era thriller in which an actor must keep passing devious tests set by a casting director in order to keep the people around him alive. As events escalate and more people are trapped the actor must confront his past, overcome his present, and...
