If it were up to us, "Project Runway" would never be "out," it would just play on a loop 24/7/365.
Sadly, Season 14 will say auf wiedersehen on Thursday, November 5th, so now seems like a good time to take stock and rank the previous 13 seasons, with the expectation that the 2015 season will probably fall somewhere in the middle of the pack once it's done. (Tim Gunn "hated" Season 14, but there have been worse.) Every season of PR is a precious, unique little rhinestone, but, like the judges, we have our favorites -- and now it's Our turn to be biased.
So here's our very subjective but still definitive worst-to-best ranking, which may only be challenged by a glare from Nina Garcia, an eye roll from Michael Kors, a "make it work" from Tim Gunn, or an "out" from Heidi Klum.
13. Season 11 (aka 'Teams')Maybe it seemed like a good, or at least dramatic,...

In HitFix's new feature "Waxing Episodic," we reflect on an episode of television we'll never forget. I don't know a single person who believes "Project Runway" is at its best now, but the decade-old reality competition is still chugging along, and that's a remarkable feat for a show that peaked in terms of sheer entertainment value at the end of its first season. Yes, season one. Say what you will about the subsequent cycles, which have included some of the most hilarious contestants (Santino Rice, Laura Bennett, the loopy, lovable puppetrix Elisa Jimenez) and undeniable talents (Christian Siriano, Mondo Guerra, Leanne Marshall) in reality history, but "Project Runway" has almost always required trumped-up workroom drama to keep us coming back. Season three succeeded with the Jeffrey Sebelia cheating allegations and season eight offered up an irritating, intriguing teacher's pet in the form of winner Gretchen Jones, but the duller seasons...

In this exciting episode, the designers are taken for a ride as they are assigned with a task to craft a dress for Marge Simpson to wear! Keep reading for our recap of ‘Project Runway All Stars’ season three episode six!
It looks like the designers are making their way through the TV networks! First, with last week’s Bonnie & Clyde-inspired challenge, and now Fox’s 25th anniversary of The Simpsons! Marge herself asks the designers to come up with a dress for her to wear on a special date with her husband Homer- even joking that the restaurant will have real waiter service, and not a cafeteria! She tells them she wants to look sexy for her date and asks that the dress not be green, and easy to remove for a late night “dessert” with Homer. Alyssa Milano tells the designers that the winning look will be worn...

Fox’s “Simpsons” star, Marge Simpson, is the guest client on Thursday’s episode of Lifetime’s “Project Runway All Stars” airing at 9/8c. Fans of the show know that the designers are always complaining when they have to design for real women, but they’re pretty jazzed about animated ones. With Lifetime’s new mini-series Bonnie and Clyde hitting the network soon, the designers were greeted by two of the show’s cast-members, Holliday Grainger and Modern Family‘s Sarah Hyland! The designers are asked to work with a “partner in crime” and design an updated 1930s look for a couple like Bonnie and Clyde. The looks must relate to one another, but each designer’s outfit will be judged separately — will the designers get along okay??

This week the designers toast their way into the challenge — but don’t think a cocktail makes this week any easier! Read on for our recap of ‘Project Runway All Stars’ Season 3 Episode 3!
The designers are told they have the night off and are invited to spend their evening at Jay-z‘s hot club, 40/40. But their hopes of relaxing for one night are diminished when they are met by Alyssa Milano! Jeffrey jokes, “I know she’s not here to just chill with us.” Boy is he right. Alyssa tells them that the 40/40 club has a variety of signature cocktails, nine of which they will pick from and use as the inspiration for, (but of course!), the perfect cocktail dress. And this week the designers get a smaller budget of only $100. We can’t wait to see what the designers come up with!

"Project Runway All Stars" kicks off its third season Thursday (Oct. 24) with new host Alyssa Milano, guest judge Debbie Harry, and a whole lot of scores needing to be settled.
"I have always been a huge 'Project Runway' fan," Milano tells Zap2it. "I watched since the very first season."
Milano, who has a licensed sports apparel line for women -- and is the daughter of a designer and granddaughter of a milliner -- says she loves being around the fashions from creation to execution.
The new "All Stars" season features designers Isaac Mizrahi and Georgina Chapman returning as judges, joined by newcomer Zanna Roberts Rassi of Marie Claire magazine. Guest judges include Kristin Chenoweth, Michael Urie and Nate Berkus.

The new season of "Project Runway All Stars" is getting a visit from rock royalty: Legendary Blondie singer Debbie Harry will appear on the Lifetime competition as the first guest judge of Season 3. The returning designers will compete to create a look that honors Harry's musical legacy, taking inspiration from her music and punk-rock aesthetic.
Harry's visit coincides with the 40th anniversary of Blondie in 2014, but celebrations are kicking off early as Harry introduces the new track "Sugar on the Side," which will be released on the "Pras" Twitter account during the episode. Blondie was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.

We can quibble about the name Project Runway: All-Stars, since I don't see prized contestants like Nick Verreos or Jillian Lewis in this lineup, but the second installment of Lifetime's alumni competition is probably going to be entertaining all the same. Truly. There are enough wild cards at play here -- each equipped with a wildly different skill type and level -- to make the season worth a run. The only problem? We need to rank which of these all-stars is destined for success. So here, just two days shy of Thursday's premiere, my predictions for the rankings of Project Runway All-Stars' new season. Spoiler: Pretty sure I made it work, guys.
13. Peach Carr
Now, I am a human being, so I love Peach Carr, her constant catchphrasing (Loved when she said that her skirt wasn't short enough to "show the good china?), and her ritzy suburban Chicago flair.

Project Runway has become something of a caricature of itself in the past few years, but let's never forget how amazing this show was and -- sometimes -- still is. The reason it remains my favorite reality competition show of allllll time (excepting perhaps The Mole) is its judges are such callous buzzards. So offensively dismissive. So haughty in their derision. So unnecessarily mean. So everything I want my children to be. Ten seasons in, Michael Kors is still the most damning character on that panel, and because he turns 53 today, I say we revisit his most hilarious and cutting barbs. So happy birthday, Mr. Kors! The crotch on your birthday is Insane.
(I've listed his quotes according to the garments he insulted. Scroll below each picture to read his legendary retort.)
1. Raymundo Balthazar's Barbie dress (season two)
Kors: "She looks like barefoot Appalachian Li'l Abner Barbie."

The art-world reality competition, Work of Art, with its oddball artists, overly harsh judges, and a terrifically animated mentor has become must-see television. Let’s be honest: Many of us watch reality television to fulfill a voyeuristic need to peer into other people’s lives, and to perhaps feel better about our own. The staggering success of Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise would seem to prove this, just as, similarly, the cable channel’s reality shows tap this universal human need within the context of competition. We’ve seen pastry chefs break down about Red Hots, fashion designers make competitors’ mothers cry (Project Runway’s Jeffrey Sebelia, we’re looking at you), but the drama has perhaps never seemed quite so real or the participants quite so tortured as the artists on Bravo’s highly addictive Work of Art, currently airing its second season Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. Over at The Daily Beast,...

Project Runway‘s Season 3 winner (and bad boy!) — Jeffrey Sebelia — is back!
But now the designer is dabbling in kids fashions, debuting a hip, edgy boys collection called La Miniatura.
Sebelia, who famously got a neck tattoo during the taping of the show featuring his then infant son’s name, created the line so his kid could “dress with some dignity!”
Well, it looks like he’s accomplished his goal.
A fun mix of British posh and punk, it features artsy graphic tees and sweatshirts, sophisticated trench coats, skinny tartan trousers, rocker-ready velvet suits and slim-cut colored jeans.

Jeffrey Sebelia, the Project Runway winner with great rock ‘n’ roll style from season three, may have kept a low profile since his win, but now he’s back in the spotlight with his latest role – as the head designer at Fluxus! The brand, which is often seen on celebs like Jessica Alba, (above, she’s wearing the Zanny sweater), is super-affordable, (with prices ranging rom $60-$200, the clothing), and available on the Fluxus site. The collection is a great way to add some tough-girl chic into your wardrobe for spring!

Well, here it is at last. The Project Runway season six finale airs tonight and I for one haven't been this excited since ... I last got my teeth cleaned. D'oh! I'm only joking. How can I not after this bizarre season that cruelly deprived us of the Holy Judging Trinity for weeks on end and forced us, time and again, to watch slack-jawed as ever-hideous designs limped down the catwalk? Grrr! But enough with that grumbling. Let's now get down to speculating how this hootenanny might conclude. Who will win? And to quote Lady Ridonkulous herself (i.e. Tyra Banks), Who!

Let's hear it for Milla Jovovich, who did a damn fine job guest-judging on last night's Project Runway. The model-turned-actress-turned-designer displayed a keen knowledge of fashion and had chutzpah to spare. Which means the person who's guest-critiquing next week has a mighty unenviable task. I'm about to tell you who that person is, so if you're averse to anything resembling a spoiler, now would be a good time to skip on ahead to the comments section. The morning after his win, Et spoke with Daniel about how he will spend his cash, and if Nicole Kidman will be wearing his winning design on the red carpet for the premiere of her upcoming movie. Et: Congratulations. Does this win mean more than it would have to win your season, since the competition was the best of the best? Daniel Vosovic: I will be honest; it felt really good. Click here for last week's preview of Project Runway. Tgif, gentle readers. Are you ready for some Project Runway recapping? Let's do this thing! Lifetime's Runwaypalooza commenced with a two-hour "All-Star Challenge" special that brought back past contestants to compete in a single runway show for a $100,000 prize. The "All-Star" title is kind of misleading, as the show featured only one actual winner (Jeffrey Sebelia of Season 3, who has grown himself an impressive handlebar mustache. My husband Jeff said it best: "He looks like... if Sonny Bono had a meth phase. Like, if Cher dumped him and he moved to Detroit." But I digress.) I cannot believe that the producers didn't at least try to get other winners on the show, so I harbor suspicions that they just started calling everyone. One must wonder why Kenley Collins didn't make the...

Since we're still more than a month away from the return of Project Runway, I thought now might be a good time to share a little PR scoop that recently came my way. I haven't confirmed this elsewhere, but I have good reason to trust my source knows of what they speak.
By now, every PR fan knows that show returns on August 20th, but I'm told that a week or two before the show debuts on Lifetime, the network plans to pump up excitement for the return with a special All-Star Challenge featuring past designers.
My source says those confirmed to participate so far include Chris March, Jeffrey Sebelia, Michael Knight, Daniel Vosovic, Santino Rice, Kenley Collins, Sweet P, and Korto Momolu. Others might also participate.

'Runway' shows its legs as Bravo finale sets record
Talk about looking sharp. Wednesday's third-season finale of Project Runway set a viewership record for Bravo by a huge margin. The hourlong episode that saw Los Angeles resident Jeffrey Sebelia emerge as the winner of the clothing design competition drew a whopping 5.4 million viewers in the 10 p.m. hour. That was well above Bravo's previous record high of 2.4 million viewers set in July with the season opener of Runway. It also was strong enough to make Runway the top-rated program on cable for the night. "To say we are pleased by last night's numbers would be an understatement," Bravo president Lauren Zalaznick said. In adults 18-49, the Runway finale brought in a healthy 3.4 million viewers. The show also has been a boon to Bravo on digital and mobile platforms. On the BravoTV.com Web site, Runway hit a new show high with the heaviest traffic in network history, up 267% over the traffic on the Runway section last season. Additionally, page views were up 36% with 73 million and streaming video was up 38% with 5.1 million users, according to Bravo.
