"Some day I'm gonna change… Maybe you'll love that new version of me, and maybe you won't." Scary. Paramount has revealed an official trailer for a mysterious lost in the woods sci-fi thriller titled Significant Other, which will be available for streaming (only!) starting in October on Paramount+. This sounds quite eerie. Significant Other follows a young couple who take a remote backpacking trip through the Pacific Northwest, but things take a dark turn when they realize they may not be alone. Starring Maika Monroe & Jake Lacy, also with Teal Sherer & Loudon McCleery. This looks very creepy, with tons of strange occurrences. It seems she gets into this blue goo which creates a copy of her? Reminds me of Annihilation or a few other horror films that I don't want to spoil now. Also some nice dual-focus shots in here. Check it out. ›››

Jake Lacy is taking the leap into marriage. No, really: The trailer for Paramount+ horror film “Significant Other” shows the “White Lotus” alum plunging headfirst off a cliff to his death mere moments after proposing to his girlfriend. Anything to escape the cage of marriage, it seems.
“Significant Other” stars Lacy as Harry, an unsuspecting partner who is head over heels (literally) for fiancée Ruth, played by “It Follows” actress Maika Monroe. The couple go on a remote backpacking trip through the Pacific Northwest, where Ruth seems to tap into the more supernatural elements of the forest. As Ruth imagines Harry plunging to his gruesome death, the couple become more and more paranoid that they may not be alone. “Significant Other” premieres October 7.
The R-rated film also stars Teal Sherer and Loudon McCleery. “Significant Other” is directed and co-written by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen, the filmmaking duo behind “Body” and “Villains.

“A Million Little Things” — an ABC drama about a friend group that becomes closer in the wake of an unexpected suicide — has covered many important issues for marginalized communities during its three seasons on air, from racism to immigration issues to depression. Creator DJ Nash explained that many of the storylines are based on real-life experiences, and most are handled with the care they deserve.
At the beginning of Season 3, which concludes in the next few weeks, we learned that Eddie Saville (played by able-bodied actor David Giuntoli) has an unspecified spinal cord injury after getting hit by a car. On the surface, this is a typical plot for a primetime drama — after all, characters become disabled on TV sometimes. The plane crash on “Grey’s Anatomy’s” Season 8 finale that resulted in Dr. Arizona Robbins (played by able-bodied actor Jessica Capshaw) becoming an amputee is seared into TV history — but it’s not 2012 anymore.

Fans of “My Gimpy Life” practically demanded a second season when hundreds banded together to donate nearly $60,000 on Kickstarter, and creator Teal Sherer has followed through on her promise to deliver more episodes of the Los Angeles-based comedy with a rare perspective: The eyes of a disabled actress trying to make it in Hollywood. “Eight hundred eighty-three Kickstarter backers gave us the chance. It's great to find an audience, but it's even more exciting to have an audience that loves our show so much that they funded it themselves,” Sherer told TheWrap. “So happy to share the new episodes...

Teal Sherer, a paraplegic actress tired of waiting for Hollywood roles, created one for herself last summer when "My Gimpy Life" premiered to critical acclaim on YouTube. And thanks to a successful KickStarter campaign that ends Friday, the award-winning comedic web series will return for Season 2. "I was really frustrated because I wasn't auditioning a lot and wasn't working, so one of the reasons I wanted to create my own show was to have kind of a showcase for myself," Sherer (left) told TheWrap. "A second element is that I...

Teal Sherer is best known to online video audiences for her role as Venom, a member of the antagonistic Axis of Anarchy in The Guild. Recently, however, Sherer has made a name for herself with My Gimpy Life, a comedy based around her life as an aspiring actress who happens to be in a wheelchair. Sherer is hoping to make a second season of the award-winning show, so she's taken to Kickstarter, where she is hoping for $50,000 in crowdfunded support. In Sherer's pitch video, she explains the impact the first season of My Gimpy Life had, both on its audience and on the handicapped community. She notes that network sitcoms cost "a billion dollars per episode...probably" so she's really not asking for much. “People with disabilities are rarely seen and heard in TV and film, and it’s been so rewarding to take control and create my own show.

Fans of The Guild and Felicia Day and fans of individuals Felicia Day is a fan of will recognize Teal (technically like the duck, not like the color) Sherer from her role in the uber-popular original web series about what happens when gamers get off their computers and into the complicated world of real life. She plays Venom, who is part of the Axis of Anarchy (which is a rival guild led by Fawkes, who is played by Wil Wheaton) and a “total bitch on wheels.” Online video enthusiasts may also recognize Sherer from the pilot and/or trailer of My Gimpy Life, a comedic web series produced by Sherer’s Rolling Person Productions, directed by The Guild’s Sean Becker, and written by Gabe Uhr that’s inspired by her own sometimes awkward adventures of being a driven actor navigating through Hollywood in a wheelchair. But soon, consumers of...

From Sandeep Parikh to Felicia Day, The Guild has launched careers for a number of its actors, but it has also created work for the people behind the camera. Sean Becker, the series' Streamy Award-winning director since season two, is one such case. Becker is a rare but increasingly common case of a person who, for basically his entire career, has worked in new media. The Guild, whose fifth season officially premieres on the web on July 26, is probably his most high profile credit, but Becker has lots of plans and projects. "It’s been crazy lately," Becker said in an interview. "I'm keeping busy and couldn't be happier. And I'd rather have that then not be busy at all." Becker has been working on passion projects with a number of Guild actors, including Jeff Lewis (The Jeff Lewis 5-Minute Comedy Hour, currently raising funds for season two), J. Teddy Garces...

Teal Sherer is an actor. She also uses a wheelchair, on stage, on screen, and in real life. That fact "adds a layer of vulnerability" to a production of "Proof" at the NoHo Arts Center in Los Angeles "that brings the play to life," a reviewer wrote in La Weekly. David Auburn's Tony Award–winning play doesn't specifically call for an actor in a wheelchair to play Catherine, the troubled daughter of a deceased mathematician. "Nobody cares," Sherer said about audience response to her nontraditional embodiment of the role. Her acting is what they notice. "Make no mistake," the La Weekly review continues, "Sherer's accomplished performance stands on its own; it's the material that's been enriched."While Sherer's been on the boards out west, Abigail Breslin has been taking two hours of physical training daily in New York City to learn how to portray a deaf and blind person,...
