Four years after the lights went out in the iconic “Big Brother” house at Elstree Studios outside London, the show has sensationally announced a return.
The British version of the iconic reality TV series, which first launched 22 years ago, is set to return to screens in 2023 after what will be a five year hiatus. This time, however, it will be broadcast on network ITV2 and streaming platform Itvx.
From its launch in 2000 until 2010 the show aired on Channel 4 before moving to Channel 5 in 2011. It ran there for 7 years until Channel 5 finally retired the format in 2018. (Pictured above is Ray J entering the “Big Brother” house in 2017.)

Jackiey Budden is planning to auction off her late daughter Jade Goody's possessions because she is struggling for money. The one-time 'Celebrity Big Brother' contestant has had her benefit payments cut by the government after a new test concluded she is well enough to work, even though she lost the use of her left arm in a motorcycle accident in 1986. Jackiey has been told she must find a job but at present she is desperate for cash and has made the decision to sell-off various items that belonged to Jade - who died from cervical cancer in 2009 at the age...

Jeff Brazier has admitted that his relationship with Jade Goody's mother is still difficult. The TV presenter, who has two sons with the late Big Brother star, told the Huffington Post that he recently had to put his foot down when Jackiey Budden decided to spoil her grandchildren. "If any of you have experienced separation where kids are involved, you'll know the numerous pitfalls and stumbling blocks placed in our way when it comes to maintaining an amicable relationship," he wrote in a blog post. "Well, recently I have been re-introduced to the feeling of 'them and us' by Jade's mum's little oversight. The boys love her so much and I truly believe she makes them feel closer to their mum than I ever could... but this always seems to come at a slight cost. Jade Goody's mum Jackiey Budden has revealed that she lost her unborn child earlier this month. The 55-year-old Celebrity Big Brother contestant, who famously entered the house with Jade in 2007, conceived the child in Tenerife in July with her boyfriend of one month John Hickinbottom. However, she later suffered from cramps and bleeding while at home in Bermondsey and called out an emergency Gp. She was taken to London's St Thomas' Hospital where it was confirmed the baby had died. "I thought God was giving me one last chance to bring up a child," Budden told The People. "I thought Jade was bringing me a little girl from up there. It was like she was helping me from Heaven. I've lost Jade and I've lost contact with my son Brett so I was over the moon that I had another chance. "Now I'm so upset. I'm grieving (more)...

Police are said to be investigating claims that Jade Goody's phone was hacked during her battle with cancer. The Big Brother star passed away in 2009, but was convinced that her voicemails were being intercepted after personal details ended up in the newspapers, the Daily Star reports. Goody's mother Jackiey Budden is apparently now planning to sue News of the World publisher News International after detectives confirmed that they suspect her late daughter was a victim of phone hacking. Claims have been made that the now-defunct newspaper accessed the specific voicemail that Goody left Budden when she first discovered she had cancer while appearing on the Indian version of Celebrity Big Brother, Bigg Boss. When we heard that Kerry Katona and her mum Sue may be entering the Celebrity Big Brother house this week, our first thought was that we may end up with another Jade Goody situation.
The late Big Brother star re-entered the house with her mum Jackiey Budden in 2007 and became embroiled in a race row, after she was believed to be bullying Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty. The incident ruined her career and led to her becoming a national hate figure for a long time after her eviction.
It seems that the thought has crossed Brian Dowling’s mind too and speaking to Bang Showbiz he admitted that he dreads that sort of situation arising, because he isn’t sure he would handle it as well as previous series presenter Davina McCall.
He said: “My worst fear is that coming from nice, entertainment, funny television, I haven’t done anything like this before.

Channel 5 have reportedly not only signed troubled mum of four Kerry Katona for their new series of Celebrity Big Brother, but they’re bringing her unpredictable mum Sue on board too.
Insiders say that both Katonas will be on the reality TV show when it launches on Five next month and that producers are hoping they will be as big a ratings draw as Jade Goody and her crazy mum Jackiey Budden.
Kerry blames many of her mental problems on her mum and her upbringing and has previously revealed that her mum introduced her to illegal drugs when she was still just a child.
Both women lack any sort of filter and say exactly what they think and are famed for their turbulent relationship, so channel bosses are hoping sparks will fly when they are cooped up in a small house together.

Jeff Brazier, the former partner of the late Jade Goody, will front parenting show Superdaddy on Living later this year.
Jeff will be trying to help separated and divorced couples deal with their parenting issues, such as custody arrangements and differing styles of discipline.
A source told The Sun: “Jeff had a roller-coaster relationship with Jade but they made a success of single parenting.
“He feels able to relate to parents in a similar situation.”
The TV presenter has been bringing up sons Bobby, six, and Freddie, five, since Jade died last year and previously said:
“I feel proud of the job I’ve done so far but I may not have been so capable if I hadn’t played such a consistent role in their lives beforehand.
“I put this down to Jade and I communicating and compromising with each other wherever possible.”
