The race by the AMPTP and the WGA to get a deal done by sundown had plenty of folks thinking back to a very memorable episode of Entourage — Doug Ellin, included.
The creator of the HBO comedy was reminded Sunday on X about how the weekend negotiations between the AMPTP and the WGA sounded “like an Entourage storyline.”
Ellin replied, “And on Yom Kippur it sure does.”
Not sure what he’s talking about? Think back 16 years ago to the season 3 episode dubbed “The Return of the King.” The 2007 episode kicks off with the boys at the race track while Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) is arriving at temple before the start of Yom Kippur. That’s when he runs into Nick Rubenstein (Adam Goldberg), the neurotic son of movie producer Phil Rubenstein who is making the movie Medellin with Paul Haggis.

We’re a month and a half away from the Season Eight bow of Entourage and the details are spilling, little by little.
TVGuide reports that part of Vince’s 12 step recovery plan includes reaching out to his former flames in order to make amends and make sure they didn’t feel “used.” Hopefully this means that Carla Gugino will be back as Amanda Daniels and I’ll even take a return from Mandy Moore. Conversely, I hope I’m not alone in wishing that Sasha Gray does not return to the scene. It’s nothing personal against Sasha, but I want to forget everything about that somber seventh season.
And in other news, there’s now evidence of more sports cameos on the horizon.
Crew from the HBO show was on hand Thursday at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx to shoot a 20 second cameo with Yankees third baseman (and...

Here's the thing about Carla Gugino: If you're not paying close attention to the actress in this role or that character, there's a chance that you may not even realize that it's her. The same Gugino who portrays a free-spirited, needy television writer in the new release Every Day also plays the tough-as-nails, no-nonsense Amanda Daniels on Entourage. And that's not even mentioning her following in the realm of fanboys for her roles as Sally Jupiter in Watchmen and her upcoming role as Madam Gorski in Zack Snyder's March release, Sucker Punch. Not surprisingly, the sultry star likes it that way.

In what seems like an instant, another season of Entourage is about the bite the dust. Now seven full seasons old, the HBO show has seen its fair shares of hits and misses. While the sixth season was a miss, this seventh season has revived the show and has been one of the best it has seen yet. Last night, featured more 'fine acting' by Marc Cuban, a cameo by Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher and director Pete Berg returning to the show for another great scene. Ari continued to self-inflict wounds on himself. After the awesome nod to the Godfather (the Blackberry behind the toilet), Ari proceeded to tell off Amanda Daniels with the fierceness that got him in this publicity nightmare to begin with. In about 10 seconds, he ruined his second chance at being a part of the La NFL team. Meanwhile, if cocaine is Vince's ...

This week was the penultimate episode of Entourage's silly seventh season and the episode continues the hilarious Sasha Grey-inspired title tradition of last week with "Porn Scenes from an Italian Restaurant."
Unfortunately, that was pretty much the only thing good to say about Grey, who continues to make any scene she's in painful. Luckily, Mark Cuban's awkwardness was there to give her competition for the worst actor ever.
If the dude can't even play himself, please tell me why Entourage couldn't have just used another billionaire? Sir Richard Branson was hilarious with his brief cameo this week. Twins? What are the chances!
On to the positive(s) of the episode. I'm going to have to give it to Drama. Poor Johnny showed a real human side as he got completely duped by E's assistant. No, not because he thought with his penis. Because Johnny genuinely seemed to...

('Entourage' - 'Porn Scenes from an Italian Restaurant') Let's call this one my dinner with Ari.
Make that a completely unhinged Ari. We didn't see this one coming and its impact was all the better for it. Ari blew up at Amanda Daniels during his quiet-time dinner with Mrs. Ari in front of the Lords of Hollywood on this week's episode of 'Entourage.'
Everyone got to see the boorish and sexist behavior of Ari up close as he demeaned Amanda over the release of the Lizzie Grant tapes.

HBO's "Entourage," now in its seventh season, is a complex emotional drama. It's a minefield of plot turns, complications, and relationship turmoil. We here at Pajiba don't want you to have to face the density of the show alone. Throughout the seventh season, we will be tracking every crucial highlight of the show, guiding you through the twists and turns of the labyrinthine HBO comedy.
In this week's episode, we got a small reprieve from the taxing density of the season so far, as the showrunners hit us with a transition episode. Thank God, too. If the intensity had not let up a little, I was facing near certain brain explosion.
Week 8
Vince was asked to take a drug test for his next film, Airwalker. He refused. The director, Randall Wallace, quit.
Johnny Drama is still unemployed; he doesn't want to do the animated project.
Eric displayed a temper.

Because of the density of "Entourage," I unfortunately have not covered it in the last four weeks. It took over a month to process those developments, and now that I have finally wrapped my brain around this season's narrative arc, I think I can properly get you up to speed thanks to half a bottle of Ginseng, a few flow charts, and an Oxford's English dictionary.
Weeks 3 - 7 HIghlights

With only 4 episodes left of Entourage's seventh season, it is very clear that this will be one of the darker seasons of the show. Front and center last night was Ari's (Jeremy Piven) self-implosion. Amanda Daniels (Carla Gugino) and Lizzie (Autumn Reeser) made Ari squirm like we've never seen before. And while we were led to believe that a lawsuit was on the menu, Lizzie had other plans. She delivered tapes of Ari (and his abusive behavior) to Deadline Hollywood for an expose. Have Ari's NFL plans been fumbled? It looks so. Billy Walsh's (Rhys Choiro) return was refreshing and it was great to see the once harsh director in more of a calm disposition. Walsh has given up the unholy Hollywood lifestyle of drugs, alcohol and porn. Now, he's got a family, responsibilities and needs back in on the business. Unfortunately, he needs a real manager, namely...

“Hair” begins in Vince’s backyard, with Turtle using a flipcam to take videos of Vince and Sasha talking about Tequila Avion. While Turtle and Alex enjoy the Tequila with Vince and Sasha, Drama wallows in his misery over losing his show to Bob Saget.
At the Tma office, Ari and Barbara meet with their attorney, Jim Lefkowitz, to discuss the possibility of Lizzie Grant suing Ari (potentially for sexual harassment or wrongful termination). After asking Lloyd his opinion of how Ari treats his employees, and not getting a favorable answer) Jim suggests they offer Lizzie money to not pursue legal actions. The main concern is that a trial, no matter the outcome, would affect Ari’s chances of bringing an NFL team to Los Angeles. However, Ari doesn’t feel the need to offer Lizzie any more money and says he will talk to Amanda Daniels and handle things himself.

Week in and week out for the last two seasons, Entourage has been desperately trying to figure out what to do with Turtle. Last season we sent him back to school and awkwardly paired him with Jamie-Lynn Sigler. No, we don't care if the actors dated in real life, that's the most mismatched pair on television... ever.
This season? The short little furry guy continues to score chicks way out of his league. So out of his league that even the girls seem to admit it on the show. Oh and some lame tequila subplot that somehow leads to Vince's demise. What!?
Now, in the most wildly, ridiculous and unbelievable Turtle subplot and the story from which the episode got its name, "Hair," Turtle freaks out when a girl has no hair... downstairs. Apparently every girl he's ever been with, including Ms. Jamie-Lynn have at least had a landing strip.

Episode Title: "Hair"
Written By: Doug Ellin
Story: Vince's (Adrien Grenier) relationship with pornography actress Sasha Grey takes a public turn of events, causing some trouble for his professional life. Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) faces an unexpected challenge with Alex (Dania Ramirez). Now that he knows the faces of his enemies, Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) goes head-to-head-to-head against the power duo of Lizzie Grant (Autumn Reeser) and Amanda Daniels (Carla Gugino). A newly sober Billy Walsh (Rhys Coiro) resurfaces looking to return to the film industry.
Cutting Loose: Vinnie Chase has partied hard over the course of seven seasons of "Entourage," but he's arguably hit his personal lowest in recent episodes, thanks to Turtle's dangerously delicious batch of tequila and the seductive ways of Sasha Gray. By the end of "Hair," a very drunk and very naked Vince lies face down next to his pool while Eric and Ari hover over him,...

“Bottoms Up” begins with Vince in a club talking to a girl as Drama, E, and Turtle sit at a table nearby. Drama asks why he recognizes her, and Turtle informs him that she’s the porn actress Sasha Grey. Turtle also tells him that she’s entered into mainstream acting and is in the new Stephen Soderberg movie. Lavin joins the guys at the table, and they begin a discussion on their sexual exploits. Vince brings Sasha over to meet the guys before they head home together.
At Ari’s house, his concern about Lizzie stealing his clients is beginning to take a toll on him, which becomes obvious to his wife during sex. When he arrives at the Tma office, he checks with Lloyd and Barbara to see if any of their clients has been contacted by Lizzie, and in the morning meeting with all his agents he...

Episode Title: "Bottoms Up"
Written By: Ally Musika
Story: While partying, Vince (Adrien Grenier) finds a new romantic interest in the form of retired pornography actress Sasha Gray, playing herself. Thanks to Turtle (Jerry Ferrara), Vince and Sasha embark on a tequila-filled day, possibly ruining one job opportunity and launching another in the process. Meanwhile, Drama (Kevin Dillon) finds his John Stamos dreams are close to an end, while Ari (Jeremy Piven) struggles to hold onto some high profile clients and Eric (Kevin Connolly)... tries... well, something.
X-Rated Action: Let's get one thing straight — any episode of "Entourage" that features Bob Saget, Mike Tyson, Jessica Simpson, Stan Lee and Aaron Sorkin in the same half hour is a very, very good episode of "Entourage." It's even better when they're all in the episode for very different reasons.
Starting with Vince, it seems that he's found love again in the form of another Hollywood starlet,...
