Jurassic Thunder starts as it means to go on. There’s an absurd Zhx opening title card that parodies the old Thx audio logo, only this film is Zombie sound… It’s an introduction to the film that sets up exactly what tone this film is taking and where the audiences mindset needs to be.
Then the film throws the audience in at the deep end starting with a zombie attack in the jungle, before introducing an armed dinosaur a la Dino Riders toys of old. Oh and the title comes from the name of a comic in the film, which features zombies and armed dinosaurs… Coincidence? I think not.

This one is for lovers of micro-budget genre fare. Very micro budget genre fare. Directors Milko Davis and Thomas Martwick have been making names for themselves by delivering indie horror schlock like Jurassic Dead and Tsunambee. Well, they are back, along with their dinosaurs in a new flick called Jurassic Thunder. Look. Anything that remotely promises that a parody of Agent Orange is going to get chomped by a dinosaur is worth me taking a few minutes to write this movie up. High Octane Pictures will release Jurassic Thunder on DVD and Digital on March 10th, 2020. Have a look at the trailer below and see if this is something you might be interested in watching. When a covert desert base...

Tsunambee opens on a dusty land where a young woman is foraging wood for an unknown reason. Cut to the jungles of Africa, I think. We’re quickly filled in on a biblical apocalypse that somehow involves bees. I don’t remember any bee related End Times in my King James Version, but interpretations vary. Then the world ends and we move along.
I give credit to the film in that it doesn’t waste time lingering on plot details. The world is going to end and the next thing we see is the world ending, or Los Angeles, at least. I’m filled with hope when a horror movie doesn’t choose to wallow in 20 minutes of character development when 5 minutes would easily be enough. These are schlocky horror flicks, not Schindler’s List,...

I'm afraid of bees -- because they're real and they hurt when they sting -- but I like zombies -- because they're dead and mostly walk slow and I don't believe in them. So what better combination could there be than a movie entitled Tsunambee, in which bees are not only killer bees, but apparently transform their victims into zombies? The synopsis gets right to the point: "After a catastrophe strikes Los Angeles, survivors face an even greater threat, thousands of giant killer bees, ushering in the end of the world!" Milko Davis wrote and directed; Stacy Pederson and Ruselis Perry star. The picture debuts on VOD tomorrow (Tuesday, June 12). Watch the glorious (for bee-movie fans, such as myself) trailer below. Move over, The...

The most shocking thing about the existence of the dino-zombie hybrid flick Z-Rex: Jurassic Dead is that neither Roger Corman, Syfy, nor Troma came up with it first. That honor goes to directors Milko Davis and Thomas Martwick; Davis also… Continue Reading →
