The actor on her path to her debut starring movie role in The First Omen.
Nell Tiger Free became an actor to exorcise her energy. “I was driving my mother insane,” the English actor explains from her flat in South London. “I had way too much energy as an 11-year- old. So she took me to a Saturday club where I could run around and sing and dance and act.”
Twenty-four-year-old Free has directed all that energy into dark-natured, suspenseful projects, from working with directors like Nicolas Winding Refn on Too Old To Die Young and M. Night Shyamalan on Servant to her first starring film role in The First Omen, the prequel to Richard Donner’s 1976 classic. “There’s the wiggle room to have the most fun on projects like that,” she says of her tense, terrifying body of work. “You really send yourself into ridiculous situations; situations you...

Since wrapping her fateful turn as Cersei and Jamie Lannister’s daughter, Myrcella Baratheon, on Game of Thrones season five, Nell Tiger Free has quickly become one of Hollywood’s most exciting young actors thanks to her collaborations with M. Night Shyamalan on Servant and Nicolas Winding Refn on Too Old to Die Young. The Shyamalan-led Apple TV+ series — which plays with various genres including psychological horror, family drama and dark comedy — just released its season two premiere, “Doll,” and the episode ignites the Turner family’s search for Free’s mysterious nanny character, Leanne Grayson. Despite her character’s unknown whereabouts, Free is opening up about what viewers can expect from Leanne in season two.
“She is starting to almost assimilate lots of different traits from these three characters that she’s been surrounded by. She’s also finding her own voice and her own way,” Free tells The Hollywood Reporter.

Jeff Pollack, director of Booty Call and Above the Rim, was found dead on Monday morning. He was 54.
Jeff Pollock Dies
Pollack had been at Hermosa Beach, Calif., on Monday in the Greenbelt jogging area when it’s believed he collapsed. A fellow jogger discovered Pollack and subsequently called police. He’d been sporting jogging clothes and had his iPod with him. No foul play is suspected.
“He was already deceased,” Hermosa Beach Police Department Capt. Tommy Thompson told the Hermosa Beach Easy Reader. “He was very cold and had been there a bit. It's still unknown how he died. We're not sure if it was a heart attack, but there were no signs of foul play."
In addition to his directing work, Pollack served as both a writer and producer on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. His other producing credits include The Fighting Temptations, Jennifer Lopez in Concert and The Tyra Banks Show.
