The small screen adaptation of Cruel Intentions will stream on Prime Video, and details have landed for the show.
Cruel Intentions is a seminal teen film of the 1990s, planting the story of Dangerous Liasons firmly in late twentieth century youth culture, with star making turns from Selma Blair, Ryan Phillipe and Reese Witherspoon
It’s also the film that helped launch the big screen career of Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Now, Cruel Intentions is heading to the small screen in a fresh modern take (we assume). Many versions of a television adaptation have been attempted in the past, including a 2016 pilot which saw Gellar reprise her role, but ultimately none of them were commissioned.
At one stage, a television version did see the light of day, but it was released as Cruel Intentions 2, thanks to some hasty re-editing in post-production (and it didn’t share the lead cast of the film).
Anyway,...

Lifetime’s latest twisted family saga has come to a close. Part 4 of V.C. Andrews’ Dawn aired on July 29, it didn’t hold back when it came to campy, over-the-drop drama we’ve come to expect from the network’s adaptations of the V.C. Andrews’ gothic novels. The final installment of this limited series featured a tragic fire, a grab-bag of creepy and vindictive relatives, and a high-stakes game of keep-away with a baby doll. Let’s break down how things ended for the cursed Cutler family in Midnight Whipsters.
[Warning: This article contains spoilers for V.C. Andrews’ Dawn Part 4: Midnight Whispers.]

The secrets came tumbling out during this chapter of the V.C. Andrews Cutler Saga.
We spent much of V.C. Andrews' Secrets of the Morning watching sweet, reasonable Dawn be a fool in lust for a sleazy celebrity with decent hair. Who among us hasn't been there?
Secrets of the Morning had it all. We got entertaining lovable side characters, like the darling, devoted, and badass Tricia. The film also gave us some quality Fran Drescher content with her role as the nosy Agnes.
Secrets of the Morning also gave us eternally hot NKotB, Joey McIntyre playing a total sleaze ball while rocking the hell out of some bell bottoms, an antiquated house of horrors, the death of a Queen Biotch, and Dawn's come-up!
What more can you want?
Picking things up from where V.C. Andrews' Dawn left off, our girl was free of Lillian, or so she thought,...

Lifetime isn't Lifetime without V.C. Andrews's book-to-screen adaptations!
And we know you're excited about the four-part Cutler Saga, kicking things off with the first in the series, Dawn.
We can already tell you it's pure campy fun, and the cast is no joke.
We had the opportunity to sit in on a presser with the cast of Dawn, with a special appearance by V.C. Andrews' ghost writer, Andrew Neiderman.
It was all copacetic as everyone discussed how they got into character, gushed over star Brec Bassinger's performance and work ethic, and expressed all the fun they had filming this piece.
Fortunately, TV Fanatic got the opportunity to jump on Zoom with star, Bassinger, to discuss what it was like to play the film's titular role as we follow her through her journey from adolescence through adulthood.

Donna Mills’ most famous TV part is undoubtedly the manipulative Abby Fairgate Cunningham Ewing Sumner, whom she deliciously played for nine seasons (1980-89) on CBS’s primetime soap Knots Landing. But the actress says that even Abby might run and hide from powerful hotel owner Lillian Cutler in Lifetime’s limited series V.C. Andrews’ Dawn, premiering Saturday, July 8. “People say to me, ‘You’re used to playing the bad girl because you played Abby.’ And I say, ‘Lillian is way badder!’” In the premiere, Lillian’s nastiness is unleashed on innocent teen Dawn Longchamp, who learns that she’s really the presumed-dead Eugenia Cutler, and the humble “parents” she grew up with (played by Jesse Metcalfe and Helena Marie) abducted her as a baby. Being a minor, Dawn has no choice but to be separated from her loving brother, Jimmy (Khobe Clarke), and move in with grandmother Lillian, who quickly...
