Chicago – Horror fans are a patient and resilient group. We have suffered through dozens of horrible straight-to-dvd sequels, often to films that barely worked in the first place, but we keep going back for another round of torture just in case one of them delivers (and, for the record, “Wrong Turn 2” is definitely better than the first film but the list ends shortly thereafter). The latest trip to the sequel funhouse is “Mirrors 2,” a pedestrian, predictable thriller that makes the first film look like “The Shining” by comparison. It’s horrible.

What happened to Nick Stahl? Does everyone else remember when he was the next big star, appearing in a “Terminator” sequel and on HBO’s underrated “Carnivale”? He’s still talented but clearly can’t get the right work or needs a new agent because one can’t imagine the favors he must have owed...

We may have caught a completely nude bathtime Amy Smart in Alexandre Aja's original 'Mirrors', but there was little time for enjoyment as her twisted reflection forced her to tear her own jaw off (Aka the stiffy killer). Now it seems we get to see more boobage in Victor Garcia's direct to DVD follow-up 'Mirrors 2'. The sexy Christy Carlson Romano strips off and looks to be yet another victim to more horrific mirror-esque events this time in her shower. Nick Stahl, William Katt, Emmanuelle Vaugier, Lawrence Turner, Stephanie Honore and Jon Michael Davis all join Romano and her ample assets. Check out the goddamn sweet clip below and be warned that the clip does contain full female nudity, or 'boobs and bum' for the more immature of us. Clip courtesy of Egotastic. 'When Max, who is recovering from a traumatic accident, takes a...

Mirrors 2 Concept PosterThe plotline for Mirrors 2 is almost identical to the first with a nightwatchman guarding the remains of the Mayflower Department Store. Thankfully, some subplots have been introduced, as this latest watchman, played by Nick Stahl (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines), is attempting to recover from a tragic accident, which left his wife dead, by returning to the work force (Uhm). Except, a haunted department store is not a great place for recovery. This sequel will to straight to DVD October 19th, 2010 and this latest in the series was directed by Victor Garcia (Return to House on Haunted Hill). Have a watch of the first trailer for Mirrors 2, courtesy of Dread Central.

It is always amazing when looking up the most current news on an indie film to find it here. Something must be going right on this site and another picture that looks just right is Chris Shadley's Nine Dead. This site has been following this film since the beginning and with some help from Fabrication Films the film is set to release. The official release date for Nine Dead is March 9th, 2010, with any limited release locations unreleased, or undeveloped. To recap, Nine Dead is a story about nine imprisoned strangers, who must find out how they are connected, or face death at the hands of an unknown stranger. Have a second look at an unofficial plot summary and the trailer below.
A plot summary for Nine Dead here:
"They confess their worst crimes, sins and innermost fears hoping to find the connection that will keep them alive. As each ten-minute period expires,...

Fabrication Films has picked up Nine Dead for distribution and now, to celebrate the union, a new one-sheet poster has been released. The newest poster looks very morbid with, likely, may of the characters lying in a prone position and possibly comatose or worse. Already Nine Dead has had its premiere at the American Film Market, but now, with distribution, the film is likely to show through a limited run with a future DVD/Bluray release in the works. Very other info' is currently available on director Chris Shadley's Nine Dead other than the film will have a 2010 release. Stay tuned for details.
An in-depth plot summary or script summary here:
"A masked gunman is on the prowl, kidnapping seemingly random victims without hesitation or remorse. First, a Vegas club owner, then a Hollywood actor and then a Los Angeles District Attorney; all taken in the blink of an eye with expert precision.

Another horror fan drops me a line on "Nine Dead," starring Melissa Joan, which is moving towards a mid 2009 release date. A trailer is already online at the "Nine Dead," homepage; yet, this feature seems to be taking a line out of the original "Saw," movie play book, with central characters banding together to solve a puzzle and the title, a play on words of the saying, "a cat has nine lives," seems pretty kitschy.
From the trailer, the use of hoods and wooden posts seems to be an attempt by writer Patrick Wehe Mahoney, or director Chris Shadley to play up on the viewer's fear of hostage taking abroad. And is the title "Nine Dead," revealing the ending of the film? Have a look at a couple stills of Melissa Joan Hart at her bloody best and the first trailer that has a dark, sinister appeal.
