As the son of the legendary auto racer known as the “Flying Dutchman,” Arie Luyendyk Jr. isn’t sure if continuing the family business is in his kids’ future.
Luyendyk followed in his father’s footsteps and became a professional auto racer and later one of the most controversial Bachelors. He said if his children show a passion for racing, he’s happy to support them.
“I’d be a little apprehensive,” he admitted to Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “But I feel if they really showed true passion for it. I’m not going to drag them to the racetrack and be like, ‘Come on, you know, get in there.’ But if they show a true passion for it, I’d definitely help them because it’s a difficult sport to break into. It’s expensive. That would be the one barrier that would be hard to overcome.”

For a class project Transformers fan Paul Warner built this incredibly impressive 10-foot-tall Optimus Prime robot out of cardboard. I don't ever remember getting assignments like this in school! Here's what he had to say about it...
For my A-Level (Second year) my coursework project was based around the theme of Transformers, a franchise I am a big fan of. What better main-piece to do than create a giant scuplture?! Due to budget and time limitations, I thought it'd be best to construct it out of cardboard. Unfortunatly for me, I'm not Primus and can't create transformers at will! This guy took around 1 year in total to complete. Hope you enjoy looking at these piccys and don't forget to look at the completed piece afterwards, just lower your expectations is all i'm going to say... :/
I think it turned out great, but the creator didn't think it ended up...

Beyoncé Knowles is headed back to the big screen and into the familiar territory of playing an aspiring singer-turned-superstar. According to Deadline, Knowles will star in a remake of "A Star Is Born," to be directed and produced by Oscar winner Clint Eastwood for Warner Bros.
The remake will be the fourth telling of the "A Star Is Born" tale, the most memorable in recent years being the 1976 version with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson as star-crossed lovers of sorts. It is also worth mentioning that the producers of that film, Billy Gerber and Jon Peters, are also attached to this new project. It is said to be a full-on musical with production set to begin sometime in the fall.
Naturally, the plot details are under wraps, but the original story revolves...

Beyoncé has never been shy about hitting the stage in stunning costumes. Her appearance has always been a mixture of showgirl sparkle and pop star razzle-dazzle. And her style is on full display in her new DVD concert special, "I Am ... World Tour."
Her mom and stylist, Tina Knowles, said that while the looks may seem a bit edgier than what fans have seen from the singer in the past, she thinks that her superstar daughter has always been ahead of the style curve.
"Well, the wonderful Thierry Mugler designed the costumes, and I actually worked on some of the dancers and the band, and it was just amazing to work with him because he is so creative,...

The Vma show is a stomping ground for eclectic fashion — both good and bad. And that means that when the show kicks off on Sunday with everyone from Lady Gaga to Ke$ha to Katy Perry hitting the white carpet, people will be talking by the watercooler for days to come about what those fashionistas wore to the big show.
In the past, Lady Gaga has stunned at the VMAs in her Victorian-style dress, Perry has embraced her pinup-girl roots, and Taylor Swift has sparkled and dazzled in sequins. While it's unknown who will show up wearing what to Sunday's big show, some fashion experts have some key advice for staying off the worst-dressed list.

Earlier this week, Cirque du Soleil announced an intriguing partnership with the Michael Jackson estate that would result in a pair of multimillion-dollar stage shows honoring the King of Pop. But despite initial indications otherwise, the two parties might not be in harmony.
"That's something else, isn't it? I won't see it," family patriarch Joe Jackson told PopEater.com when asked for comment on the Cirque shows — one permanently in Las Vegas and another set to tour the world.
Jackson's comments are in stark contrast to those of Cirque President and CEO Daniel Lamarre, who said he had the Jackson family's full approval when MTV News interviewed him earlier this week.

Beyoncé

In October 2008 — back when George W. Bush was still commander in chief — Beyoncé posted an open letter to her fans on her Web site, telling them that her (then-untitled) new album would be her most ambitious yet, a boundary-busting effort that featured her most personal songs to date.
"I have worked on this album for close to one year. I have taken the time so I can create my sound. Something that says who I am at this stage in my life," she wrote. "I have taken risks here. I am not afraid ... There is no label or tag on my sound. It's me, and I am so excited to share it with the world ... my music will explain it all."
Little did we know how prophetic those words would be.

It's not exactly breaking news to fans of Bigger Than the Sound (hi, Mom!) that I fancy myself quite the prognosticator, particularly when it comes to awards shows. This is partially because I consider myself an expert on these kinds of things, but also because I have a huge gambling problem.
In previous years, I've tried my hand at picking the winners of the MTV Video Music Awards and predicting the Grammy nominees, with varying degrees of success (who among us can forget my triumphant 3-for-8 turn at the 2008 VMAs? Or, conversely, my dismal 2-for-2,000 run at the 2009 Grammys?) And so, buoyed by my successes — and fueled by my failures — I've decided to continue the tradition with this year's Grammy noms, which...

New York — Lady Gaga certainly made a fashion statement — or four — at the VMAs on Sunday night. The new princess of pop donned four very original and different numbers that had the fashion community buzzing the next day. Is Lady Gaga a new fashion icon? Maybe not yet, but experts MTV News spoke with at Fashion Week can agree that she certainly is fashion-forward — and on her way to icon status.
Celebrity stylist Robert Verdi said Gaga's debut at the VMAs has her poised to join some of the greatest women in pop music. "I actually love her," he said.
