Television's funniest man Kapil Sharma has surprised cynics by delivering what looks like a hit debut film. In spite of the bad reviews, the film has had a heartening opening all over India.

Kapil Sharma’s Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon makes a grand opening at the Box Office with Rs 10.15 Cr on the very first day and leaving behind films like Hero, Piku, Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Tevar, Heropanti (on their opening day).
The collections are exceptional considering the fact that the film makes bollywood debut of none other than Comedy King Kapil Sharma.
Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon is the launch pad for the actor and the opening day collections are the highest ever for a debutant beating Student of The Year (Rs 9.25 crore).
Releasing the movie on Bakri-Eid did help its business, but irrespective of that, the volume of the collections are unexpected. The film is running to packed houses in the North and Gujarat, while the movie is performing pretty well in the Mumbai circuit too.
With the weekend around the corner people are flocking into theatres which are running into packed houses!

Though last few weeks had seen one or two films release every weekend, this Friday there are as many as four films hitting the screens – Calendar Girls, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, Bhaag Johnny and Timeout. Out of these, the more prominent ones are Calendar Girls and Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon which are seeing the widest release. Bhaag Johnny has a restricted screen count while Timeout is seen an almost token release.

Interestingly, both films have multiple heroines in there, what with Calendar Girls featuring Akanksha Puri, Avani Modi, Kyra Dutt, Ruhi Singh and Satarupa Pyne, while Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon boasting of Elli Avram, Manjari Fadnis, Simran Kaur Mundi, Sai Lokur. Today we see a multitude of films being adapted and remade in different languages, however every now and then there are claims of films being copied from others that were previously released. The latest to land in a copyright infringement suite is the film Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon (Kkkpk). In fact, a case has been registered with the Madras High Court stating that the film Kkkpk has been copied from a 2014 Kannada film Nimbe Huli. Commenting on the same Hemanth Hegde, director of Nimbe Huli states that he had sold the rights of the film to a Tamil director K Madesh to be remade, however the makers of Kkkpk have not acquired the rights to remake the film from either Madesh or himself. Further adding, Hegde says that he is now contemplating on taking legal action by filing a plagiarism suit against the makers. On the other hand however,...

Half a decade back, Satish Kaushik and Anupam Kher had come together to build a production house and named it Karolbagh Films & Entertainment Pvt. They made a humble beginning with Tere Sang [2009] which was a modest success as well. However, the professional tie up between Kher and Kaushik has ended now with the two partners calling off the production house. "Though there were major plans for the production house, what with other major corporate houses expressing interest in tying up with them for many more films in years to follow, somehow things didn't quite materialize. As partners, it wasn't really working out for Kher saab and Satishji. They felt that it was best for them to stay on as friends instead of bringing a production house between which was turning out to more of a problem than a solution," informs a close associate. The break took place many months ago though both being mature personalities,...

For 20000 odd audience at Mahalaxmi Race Course, it was one 'ghostly' sight that would be unforgettable for time to come. Thankfully, there was ample fun element in it as well that diluted the scare factor that is otherwise associated with ghostly sagas. "That happened yesterday when out of a sudden, a bunch of 'Ghost Riders' arrived out of nowhere," comments an observer, "As it turned out, these ghosts were the likes of Mahie Gill, Meera Chopra, Jacky Shroff, Chunky Pandey and Saurabh Shukla. Since each one of them plays a ghost from different eras in Gang of Ghosts, it was widely felt that their spooky appearance amidst much fanfare would not just bring in humor to all the clamor at the race course but also aid in bringing added eyeballs for the film." This is the reason why director Satish Kaushik and his producer partner Ratan Jain were thrilled when...

It had seemed that clash of ghosts had been averted, what with Amitabh Bachchan's Bhoothnath Returns getting a solo arrival once Satish Kaushik's Gang of Ghosts decided to arrive a week earlier. However, it is back to ghosts meeting each other in theatres, what with Gang of Ghosts being further advanced by a week and now all set for a face/off with Ragini Mms 2. "Yes, Ratan Jain and Satish Kaushik's Gang of Ghosts would now arrive on March 21. This is the same day that Ekta Kapoor had fixed for her sequel of Ragini Mms. There are indeed a lot of ghosts in the air," quips our source. Incidentally, despite ghosts in there, genre of both films is quite distinct. "Balaji's Ragini Mms 2 is being marketed as a 'horrex' affair, and has ample elements of horror and erotica in there. On the other hand, Gang...

Mumbai, March 22: Filmmaker Priyadarshan is not much into item songs. When an item song was brought into his last Hindi release "Tezz", he had rebelled against the producer, Ratan Jain and disowned the product. It is surprising then how he agreed to include an item song in his new film "Rangrezz".
It was only after initial reservations that he was okay with the desi version of "Gangnam style" to be part of the Vashu Bhagnani production, which features the producer's son Jackky in the lead.
"Look, I don't want to come across as the party-pooper every time. I don't want to get the reputation of a director, who comes in the way.

Priyadarshan who had all but lost his battle to get the Mallika Sherawat number out of his new film Tezz, won a partial victory at the last minute. Or so he thought. The producers apparently agreed to remove Sherawat's item number from all prints in Delhi and Mumbai. Says a source close to Priyadarshan, "Priyan was very sure he wanted the song removed at any cost. But the producers pleaded that the prints had already gone overseas and to the non-metropolitan centres. Priyan and Ratan Jain finally came to a compromise. The producer agreed to edit Mallika's number out of all prints in the metropolitan cities. However, finally Jain said he could only keep his word in Mumbai and Delhi." Said a close friend of the director, "Priyan was requested to let the song be in non-metropolitan centers. He said the audiences will love Mallika's gyrations in Bihar, Up and likeminded centers.

It seems when the DVD of Tezz would be out, the 'deleted scenes/songs' segment would have a lot more in offering than the actual film itself. Just when the imbroglio around Mallika Sherawat's presence in the film had died down, there is a twist in the tale. Apparently, the film had not one, not two but as many as three different climax sequences at its disposal and it took the makers quite some time to finally pencil down on the one that is making to the theaters this Friday.

This time around the trouble was not centered on makers and cast having different point of views. Instead, each of these climaxes worked perfectly well for a high octane thriller like ours. Jaipur, April 25: Priyadarshan’s “Tezz” is already popular thanks to Sameera Reddy’s much talked about action girl avatar and Mallika Sherawat’s item number ‘Laila’. But Priyadarshan is clearly not happy with Laila, and he has said that it was never his decision to include an item song, but the producer of film Ratan Jain kept on insisting, hence it was included. Priyadarshan even claimed that the song was shot without him, since he did not give his consent to it. “Tezz” is an action film and thus such an item number is wrongly put in it.
But Priyadarshan said that its done to attract the mass and for the promotion.

Tezz director Priyadarshan wants Mallika Sherawat's item number 'Laila' removed out from the final edit of the film as he feels that the song doesn't fit into the film. Jain went went ahead and shot the song with choreographer Ganesh Acharya. Priyadarshan doesn't have anything against item numbers or Mallika Sherawat, but it is just that he feels that there is no scope for this song in the film as the film is a complete action thriller.
