It’s a long-running joke that everyone has a podcast these days.
Well, now even Arthur, the anthropomorphic cartoon aardvark has one.
The Arthur Podcast was officially announced by PBS Kids on Thursday (6 October). Season one of the show will feature eight episodes released weekly on all major podcast platforms starting 20 October.
The announcement was accompanied by a video short featuring Arthur setting up his podcast with the help of Dw.
The news comes after the Arthur TV series ended earlier this year after a 25-year run.
“It’s been so fun to help Arthur make his new podcast,” said Carol Greenwald, senior executive producer for GBH Kids, per Variety. “He, Dw, and Buster has done a great job sharing their adventures – and the podcast platform will allow us to reach new audiences as well as reconnect longtime fans to many of our classic stories.”

Arthur, the longest-running children’s animated series in the history of American television, has ended with its 25th season. Developed for PBS by Kathy Waugh and produced by Wgbh, the series centers on a young aardvark of the same name, and the lessons he learns from friends and family while growing up in the fictional Elwood City.
Arthur’s final episode, titled “All Grown Up,” aired February 21 on PBS and took place 20 years into the future, chronicling the lives of Arthur, his sister D.W., Buster, Brian, Muffy and Sue Ellen in their 20s.
In the flash forward, it is revealed Arthur became a graphic novelist who has just published his first book.
As the group reunites at Sugar Bowl Cafe, the dessert parlor they would go to as kids, Arthur shows the group what he’s working on and they all reveal what they’ve been doing. D.W.

Pokémon Unite is a beautiful blend of pocket monsters and League of Legends, bringing the series into uncharted territory.
“Pokémon Unite just might be the second coming of Red and Blue, but there’s a catch. Before Pokémon, turn-based role-playing games were still a niche genre in North America. Thanks to the series’ easy-to-digest game mechanics, cute monster designs, and a strong marketing campaign, Pokémon Red and Blue found mainstream popularity in the west and paved the way for countless other RPGs.”

Executive producer Carol Greenwald confirmed the news to IGN July 27, writing, "In the winter of 2022, the 25th and final season of Arthur will debut." “Arthur,” the iconic animated children’s series about a lovable aardvark, is ending after its 25th season.
The longest-running children’s animated series in the history of American television, “Arthur” will end on PBS Kids, with its final season launching in winter 2022.
Original show developer Kathy Waugh broke the news in an interview on the Finding Dw podcast with voice actor Jason Szwimmer.
“‘Arthur’ is no longer in production. We had our wrap party two years ago,” Waugh told Szwimmer. “I think [PBS] made a mistake, and I think ‘Arthur’ should come back and I’m know I’m not alone in thinking they made a mistake. I don’t know if it was a ratings issue or if it felt like it needed to be retired. To me, it felt evergreen, like it was never going to end but it did end, we finished the last episode [of] Season 25 two years ago.

Arthur will clench his fist one last time. The longrunning children’s cartoon “Arthur” will end its celebrated run after 25 years.
“Arthur” writer Kathy Waugh shared the news on the podcast “Finding D.W.,” which tracks down the seven actors who voiced the character of D.W., Arthur’s younger sister.
“Arthur is no longer in a production,” she said (via Entertainment Weekly). “We had our wrap party two years ago. I think they’ve made a mistake, PBS, and I think ‘Arthur’ should come back. And I know I’m not alone in thinking they made a mistake.”
Waugh said that even though the “Arthur” team finished the final episodes two years ago, the characters are still used by PBS; for example, in a recent PSA about handwashing. “They used the ‘Arthur’ characters so they’re still around,” she noted. “As far as I understand, not all of the shows have aired.

The company also has eight comedy pilots in various stages of production. Once completed, the pilots will be posted on Prime Instant Video and Amazon Instant Video for customers to watch for free.
