We recently brought you the story of Kohlsen Fisher; the lil'est, most devoted Flyers fan, whose prank Christmas gift of a Penguins jersey gave us one of the last (and best) viral moments of 2014. But the story didn't end there! Dean Fisher uploaded this clip of an intense care package the Flyers delivered to Kohlsen after they'd got wind of the video. Flyers captain Claude Giroux sent Kohlsen a signed jersey - and a ton of other Flyers gear - and best of all, an invite for his family to come meet Giroux and the team at a game. If...

On September 11, NHL 13 will offer a redesigned version of Hockey Ultimate Team in addition to its other enhancements. That renovated version of the mode will not be driven by salary cap or career length limitations, both of which bogged it down in previous series entries. Additionally, its Hud and line management options have been streamlined and updated, allowing for easier roster optimization, as well as opposition scouting which will come in handy prior to games played against each Team of the Week.
With regards to card purchasing, new gold packs will be made available for a certain price, allowing fans to add a large amount of new cards to their ever-expanding collection. The metallic pack type’s inclusion should help out a lot, especially if key players go down with injuries. However, a lot of the new cards earned through that pricey purchase option will probably end up on the trading market,...

Tying in to its most recent screenshot release for the game, EA Sports has unveiled a new trailer for NHL 13 that focuses on every hockey team’s last line of defence: its goaltender. Mixing visceral gameplay action with overlays listing the position’s new anticipation mechanics, free limb movement and improved user control, it’s sure to make goaltending gurus happy.
Over the course of this generation, the series’ digital tenders have improved quite a bit, so it’ll be interesting to see how much more realism these changes will add to each match.
NHL 13 will be released in North America on September 11, 2012. It will feature Philadelphia Flyers forward Claude Giroux as its selected cover athlete.

It’s official. Philadelphia Flyers superstar Claude Giroux will grace the cover of EA Sports‘ NHL 13 when it launches this September. The talented and easy-to-like Canadian winger won the series’ first cover art poll, which attracted over 26 million fans, and proved to be a great success in the process.
After several rounds featuring the National Hockey League’s elite, it all came down to Giroux and Nashville Predators tender Pekka Rinne. Both were deserving of the honour, but only one could win, and it’s tough to argue with the results. Even though I’m not a Flyers fan, I’m happy with the choice, partially because I love those orange jerseys.
NHL 13 will lace up its digital skates on September 11 in North America and September 14 in Europe.

EA Sports and NHL.com have announced the winner of the first ever EA Sports NHL Cover Vote campaign for NHL 13. 26 million votes later the victor was Philadelphia Flyers forward, Claude Giroux. Giroux was neck and neck with Nashville Predators goalie Pekka Rinne and only beat him by a 1% margin; making it the closest matchup of the entire campaign.
The campaign sponsored by Blackberry lasted between March 29th and June 4th and 2 million of the 26 million votes were casted during the Stanley Cup Finals alone. NHL 13 is set to release on September 11th in North America and September 14th in Europe, but until then stay tuned for more here at HeyUGuys Gaming.

The Carrie Diaries will explore a young Miss Bradshaw as she discovers the love of her life, New York City. And it can't be NYC without a gay best friend, even if he doesn't know he's gay yet. The CW pilot cast Brendan Dooling in the role of Carrie's best friend. Austin Butler will play the love interest, presumably for Carrie.
In a little noticed bit in a December interview that's now making mainstream news, Rick Santorum says that if elected, he'd make sure that not only would we get a federal Constitutional amendment against marriage equality, it would nullify all existing same-sex marriage, which numbered 131,000 in the 2010 census. The family values crowd sure does like destroying families.
If you're my age, you owe a huge hunk of your childhood to Ralph McQuarrie, who passed away at age 82 this weekend. McQuarrie designed much of Star Wars, from Chewbacca to Darth Vader.

Claude Giroux, No. 28 of the Philadelphia Flyers, is stopped on a breakaway by Tim Thomas, No. 30 of the Boston Bruins, during the 2010 Bridgestone Winter Classic at Boston’s Fenway Park, January 1, 2010. By Jim McIsaac/Getty Images. Boston has so many fine sporting traditions—the Head of the Charles, the marathon, the Red Sox—that it’s easy to forget that it’s also a hockey town. Bostonians, as Globe columnist Dan Shaughnessy noted this past wintry weekend, are a “people of ice, blades, laces, and warm breath blowing through cold air.” The occasion for all this rhapsodizing was the N.H.L.’s third Bridgestone Winter Classic, an annual outdoor game that’s proven to be an extremely savvy (and profitable) combination of old-school charm and modern marketing. This year’s edition, which had the local Bruins facing off against a historic rival on a sheet of ice in Fenway...
