What kind of additions Neil Finn and Mike Campbell will make to Fleetwood Mac lineup is a question that will have to wait till the newly reconfigured lineup goes on tour in October. But at Largo Thursday night (May 3), some 280 fans got a partial glimpse as a pop-up show by father-and-son partners Neil and Liam Finn found Campbell as a surprise guest on two songs, one of them a deeper-than-deep Mac track.
“Playing at Largo is really about having wonderful surprises occur,” said the elder Finn, “and I’d like to welcome to the stage now a wonderful guitar player I’ve just had the extreme pleasure of learning how to play with — and there’s still more to learn, but for now let’s welcome Mike Campbell!” They then proceeded to perform a short but sweet version of Fleetwood Mac’s 1969 single “Man of the World,” a Peter Green...

We’ve been loving The Revenant for awhile now, and Fangoria has also been on the love fest of Kerry Prior’s horror comedy, and recently interviewed the director about the film that took horror festivals by storm and is now getting a limited release and is available on demand. Part 1 is here, and Part 2 is here, but I cobbled them both together for you below. If my review and our coverage hasn’t persuaded you to seek out the film, then perhaps this will.
The Revenant stars David Anders and Chris Wylde.
Fangoria: Can you tell us about The Revenant’s long trip to theaters—what caused the delay, and how did it finally achieve release?
D. Kerry Prior: I don’t know—the confluence of various events, I guess. It’s hard to get distribution, you know? I know that once we got into negotiating, it could...

Back in May we reported on Lightning Entertainment acquiring the sales rights for Kerry Prior's amazing zombie comedy The Revenant, and now on the eve of Afm 2011, they've found a distributor ... themselves! We can't blame them for not wanting to let this one go. Read on for the details.
The Revenant will be released in the U.S. by Lightning Media, Lightning Entertainment's domestic distribution label, and screen at the American Film Market.
The film tells the story of a soldier (David Anders, from TV’s "24" and "The Vampire Diaries") who is killed in Iraq and then finds himself resurrected as a "revenant," or one who has returned from the dead. He turns to his slacker best friend (Chris Wylde) to help him manage his newfound thirst for blood, and the duo quickly realize that this zombie-fied state is a perfect opportunity to become vigilante crime fighters. Their adventure...

The Revenant Movie StillThe Revenant is a zombie inspired comedy from first time director Kerry Prior. A special effects technician by trade, Prior breaks the mold by inventing a "jam-packed...urban decadence, [with] perverse gore, and outrageously ghoulish humour" (Fantasia). This film will have a Montreal premiere at Fantasia 2010 and fans of the gritty, or the shocking can have a look at the film at Fantasia below.
The synopsis for The Revenant here;

His body is shipped back to the United States and laid to rest, but before the lid can be put on this tomb, Bart inexplicably awakens in his coffin and climbs from his grave. The month-long outing ends July 2 in Honolulu, just in time for Vedder to get some surfing in. Liam Finn, son of Crowded House's Neil Finn, will open the shows. Kerry Prior, the FX artist who created the silver sphere and other FX for the Phantasm sequels, gave us the scoop and some exclusive pics (see ’em below) from his new writing/directing vehicle, The Revenant. The horror/black comedy, Prior’s second feature after 1996’s Roadkill, is currently in postproduction.
“The Revenant is based on what I think of as ‘pre-fictional’ vampire folklore—meaning legends from the 17th and 18th centuries, before the vampire was popularized in fiction and movies,” Prior tells Fango. “The story is about Bart Gregory, who is killed in the Iraq war and his body shipped home. He rises from the dead, of course, and solicits the help of his friend Joey Leubner to try and figure out what’s going on. They have to figure out how to procure blood to keep Bart from rotting, which is the thrust of the story.
