Somewhere, as "Euphoria" struggles to reassemble its cast of former no-names-turned-movie-stars for season 3, the team behind "Bones" is wistfully inquiring, "First time?" Hart Hanson's nearly-unstoppable procedural dramedy not only transformed Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz into household names over its 12 seasons, but it also took many of its supporting players to the next level. The only downside was, this meant it was sometimes necessary for the show's creatives to kill off a fan-favorite member of the Jeffersonian's staff once the actors behind them had filled up their workload with outside projects.
Most infamously, "Bones" took Booth's honorary little brother Lance Sweets out back behind the shed after John Francis Daley's directing career made it impossible for him to continue playing the cherished FBI psychologist on a regular basis. It wasn't fun for anyone (least of all Daley), although he was far from the only cast member whose character got Old Yeller-ed.

“Kevin Can Wait” has been canceled by CBS after two season, Variety has learned.
The CBS sitcom stars Kevin James, Leah Remini, Taylor Spreitler, Mary-Charles Jones, James Digiacomo, Ryan Cartwright, Lenny Venito, Gary Valentine, and Leonard Earl Howze. James, Rock Reuben, Rob Long, Jeff Sussman, Andy Fickman, Tony Sheehan, and Steve Mosko are executive producers for Sony Pictures TV and CBS Television Studios.
“Kevin Can Wait” underwent a creative overhaul between seasons one and two, with original co-star Erinn Hayes’ character written off the show and Remini joining the cast, reuniting James with his former “King of Queens” co-star.
But the show still saw a big ratings slide in its second season. The cancelation after investing in two seasons is a tough cut for Sony Pictures Television, which will shop the series to other buyers.

CBS has opted not to pick up a third season of its Kevin James comedy series Kevin Can Wait.
This is one of the biggest casualties at CBS this season. The network had set out to shake things up on Monday, where its ratings fortunes had fallen. It has now canceled Kevin Can Wait, Superior Donuts and Scorpion and only has renewed Man with a Plan.
Fueled by the popularity of its star Kevin James and boosted by The Bing Bang Theory as a lead, Kevin Can Wait got off to a blazing start in fall 2016 and went on to become a sturdy Monday 8 Pm anchor. The series ranked as the most watched and highest rated new comedy last season. But there was some ratings decline over the course of the season.
Additionally, midway through Season 1, the series parted ways with co-creator and showrunner Bruce Helford, who now steers ABC’s Roseanne revival.

When George A. Romero died in July, the world mourned a legendary filmmaker whose work proved to be so influential that the repercussions of his 1968 feature length debut, Night Of The Living Dead, can still be seen in cinema today. Indeed, Romero is often heralded as the ‘father of the zombie film,’ and with good reason – that debut feature created an entirely new sub-genre within the realm of horror, and made it the one of the most groundbreaking and subversive releases of its time, to boot.
As you may know, Romero’s son, Cameron, is also a filmmaker, and has a prelude to his father’s movie in the works – titled Rise Of The Living Dead – about which he has just given an update.
To recap, the younger Romero began an Indiegogo campaign in 2014 to fund the production of his script, which was then titled Origins. That fundraising campaign was successful,...

Kevin Can Wait wasn’t a particularly interesting show at any point through its first season, though it had some moments that were fairly fun. Already an excuse for Kevin James to simply play Doug Heffernan again (but with kids and less animosity towards his spouse), the show has doubled down by bringing in Leah Remini as a regular and killing off Erinn Hayes. The news of the switch was announced months ago and what was initially a jarring head-scratcher has manifested into something of an ugly twist for a television series.
James has tried to downplay the move in several interviews by saying that the plan for the show was always to shift gears and go in an entirely new direction in the second season, but few backtracking explanations have ever made less sense. If it’s true it’s monumentally stupid and if it isn’t James is...

In terms of its demo average, the first season of Kevin James' Kevin Can Wait TV show was a top three performer for CBS. The comedy also ranked in 10th place in terms of total audience size, during the 2016-17 television season. That doesn't tell the whole story, though. The numbers dwindled after it lost The Big Bang Theory as its lead-in. In the second season they're shaking things up, by killing off Erinn Hayes' character, Donna Gable, and bringing on James' King of Queens co-star, Leah Remini, to reprise her season one turn as Vanessa Cellucci. Can reuniting this comic duo further build upon this successful series' ratings? Will Kevin Can Wait be cancelled or renewed for season three on CBS? Stay tuned. Erinn Hayes’ last episode of “Kevin Can Wait” was not only shared with her Season 2 replacement, Leah Remini, but it was titled “Sting of Queens” — as if the creators’ long con to swap out Kevin James’ wives was already underway.
The series got such a bad rap after announcing it was letting Hayes go, viewers might have expected them to deal with her character’s departure with grace and respect. After all, even fans who weren’t overwhelmed by the news would need a good reason to forget about a woman they spent 24 episodes getting to know during Season 1.

When Bones signs off on Tuesday night, after 12 seasons on Fox, it will do so as the network’s longest-running scripted drama, having solved -- according to finale promos -- 275 cases in 246 episodes. And that prolific conviction rate may not even be the most impressive thing that the series accomplished.
Because Bones -- which was based on the life and works of real-life forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs -- did more than just stay on the air, leapfrogging more than 20 different time slots in its 12-year run. In a television landscape populated with morose antiheroes and sarcastic protagonists that often poke fun at the earnestness of cops-and-science procedurals like Bones, sometimes directly by name (see: American Dad, Bojack Horseman, Bob’s Burgers and more), the show was a champion of justice and evidence, science and guts, “brains and heart.” It told new stories every week, while at the same time unfolding its central characters little by little, making...

Yes, we all love zombies. We all know that they are a big business and we also know that much of the blame for the current form of zombies rests on the shoulders of horror master George Romero and his brilliant, low-budget 1968 flick Night of the Living Dead. Now, in the grand cinematic tradition of beating even dead things to death with a stick, there is going to be a Night of the Living Dead prequel called Origins and it’s going to start shooting in 2015.
Origins originates in the mind of Cameron Romero, the son of George Romero, who will be directing the feature. It focuses on events prior to those in Night of the Living Dead, as a scientist searches for a pathway to sustain human life in the event of a worldwide catastrophe. Things go terribly wrong (of course), and I guess that this guy winds up creating zombies.

The father of the modern zombie, George A. Romero, first introduced us to the shufflesome ways of the undead way back in 1968 with his lo-fi classic, Night Of The Living Dead. Shot on a measly budget, the original movie followed two siblings who seek refuge in a nearby farmhouse as a zombie invasion takes hold. It’s a genre staple that has gone on to influence countless filmmakers, including Romero’s own son, G. Cameron Romero, who is now pledging to craft a prequel titled Origins.
What’s the name of the game then? Well, seems the younger Romero is intent on paying homage to his dad’s original movie, while also offering a new slant on the zombie trope:

Previously On Warehouse 13.
Pete and Steve learn a renaissance faire is a veritable smorgasbord of danger, and Claudia tries to free her sister. Tears will be shed.
This week gives us a rare, but welcome teaming of the guys, as Pete and Steve offer up a fun Team A, while Claudia and Myka .. well, we’ll get to them later.
There’s trouble at a renaissance faire (when is there not?) when a heckler (how can you heckle at a renaissance faire?) makes fun of the juggling ability of a jester (how can you be a jester and not know how to juggle?). A real court jester suddenly materializes and zaps the heckler, causing a massive heart attack. Obviously, there’s something artifact-ey going on. Pete and Steve are on the case! Because Myka is too … Myka … to go to a renaissance faire.
Pete is stoked, of course, but...

As always happens when the current Doctor decides to leave the show, speculation is rife as to who will be regenerating into the Twelfth Doctor. I almost don’t want their identity revealed until the regeneration, because that way they would be avoiding all the hate that Matt had to go through when Tennant left and he stepped into the Converse trainers.
I won’t lie; when I discovered that the new Doctor was going to be so young, I had some hate going on too because I’ve watched the show since childhood and none of the other Doctors have been under the age of possibly thirty-five. Perhaps a little older.
Matt, however, surprised everybody. He managed to be a 900+ year old Time Lord and he managed to do it perfectly. He was – if anything – Patrick Troughton all over again (he even borrowed Troughton’s dress sense and a lot of his quotes,...

Dr. Oliver Wells (Brian Klugman) arrived in "The Fact in the Fiction" to be the newest squintern rotating through the crime-fighting world of "Bones." But how does Wells measure up against his competition? Using standards of education, social skills and sheer entertainment value,
Education
Dr. Wells is easily one of the best-educated of the squinterns. Like Clark Edison (Eugene Byrd), Wells has a PhD. On top of this, he has a whole pile of Masters degrees.
Without doctorates of their own, the others don't have a chance.
Intelligence
You need to be smart in order to finish all of those degrees in a reasonable amount of time. Since most of the other squinterns have but one field of study, Wells -- with his widely varied advanced degrees (Law? Seriously?) -- totally wins there.
On the other hand, this might just be an inability to focus. There's a good chance that...

Alphas, Syfy’s two-season-old series about people with mental superpowers that doubled as a sneaky examination of mental illness, has been canceled. The news was first reported via tweets from Azita Ghanizada, Ryan Cartwright, and Warren Christie, who all starred in the show. It was confirmed later via a statement from Syfy itself. As recently as last week, the network was still in negotiations to bring back the show, presumably at a reduced budget, but it would seem those negotiations fell through (or were, perhaps, never all that serious to begin with). The show’s ratings fell 30 percent in ...

I am disappointed. Today Syfy executives decided to not renew Alphas for a third season. It was a great show about people with different extraordinary abilities. Even I can say that it had its ups and downs, and that was reflected in its ratings as well, but at its core, the idea and the characters were great and the actors all really worked well together.
Here is the statement from Syfy:
“Syfy has decided not to renew Alphas for a third season. We’ve been proud to present this entertaining, high-quality series for two seasons and to work with an incredible ensemble of talented actors, producers and creatives as well as our partners at BermanBraun Television. We’d like to thank the show’s dedicated regular viewers for their tremendous support.”

Syfy's "Alphas" have officially solved their final case. The sci-fi drama series about the titular group of crime-fighting superhumans has been canceled after two seasons, following a ratings drop that saw viewership plummet from over 2.5 million (Live+7) for the Season 1 premiere to barely more than 1 million for last October's Season 2 finale. Starring David Strathairn, Ryan Cartwright, Warren Christie, Azita Ghanizada, Laura Mennell, Malik Yoba and Erin Way, "Alphas" followed a group of ordinary humans with extraordinary abilities as they solved high-level crimes thought to be perpetrated by others of their kind. In more uplifting news, Syfy renewed...

Fans of Syfy's Alphas have been waiting patiently to find out if the TV series will be back for a third season. Apparently they're not alone.
Yesterday, actor Ryan Cartwright (autistic Gary Bell on the show) tweeted, "Wow. Won't know about #AlphasS03 until next year :x"
Then, earlier today, he wrote, "Gonna assume #Alphas is cancelled. #TooLongToWait :("
What do you think? Is Cartwright correct or just not being patient enough?
Update: It seems that Cartwright might have caught some flack and tweeted, "Deleted the #Alphas tweet. Was informed that they're still deliberating. Will reapply crossed fingers for a 3rd season. #AlphasS03!!!"

Ryan Cartwright is a terrific little gem of a British actor, often giving his projects just a little extra pep. He’s been a joyful part of Mad Men, Bones and has been absolutely killing it as Gary, an autistic man with the ability to see and interact with wavelengths, on Alphas. He’s the kind of guy you want on your show if you’re looking for someone to deliver delightfully hilarious performances that don’t stand out like sore thumbs. His latest gig, on The Big Bang Theory, will hopefully put him in the position to continue his streak of dorky, comedic parts. And if not, well a streak has to come to an end eventually.
The Big Bang Theory has been rather unkind to Penny throughout its run. Her life’s dream is to be an actress, but she is nowhere closer to achieving that dream than...
