When the Boston Bruins host the Florida Panthers at Td Garden on Monday night, it’s going to mean a little bit more. After a historic season in 2022-2023 that saw Boston go an incredible 65-12-5 for 135 points, with an absurd goal differential of +128… they lost to the Florida Panthers in Game 7 of the first round of the NHL Playoffs. Fortunately, Boston is picking up their regular season right where they left the last one off. They’re currently 7-0-1, second in the NHL behind only the Vegas Golden Knights who are a perfect 8-0.
The Panthers have had a slower start. After going to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2022-2023 and losing to the Golden Knights, Florida is 4-3-0 to start the season, sitting 6th in the Atlantic Division with 8 points. Injuries have already piled up for Florida with key D-men Brandon Montour and Aaron Ekblad out of the line-up.

Miracle on Ice, Part Two? In an intense battle at the Winter Olympics, the United States upset the home team Russia on Feb. 15 — all because of a baby-faced star from Washington.
Three periods and an overtime wasn’t enough to determine a winner in the heated hockey matchup between Russia and the United States on Feb. 15. It came down to a shootout, and one American skater in particular, T.J. Oshie, made sure that the U.S. would not be denied.
T.J. Oshie Helps Team USA Shock Russia
U.S. coach Dan Bylsma put T.J., 27, onto the ice for six shootout attempts as the U.S. and Russia went back and forth in an eight-round shootout — he scored four times. Some of T.J.’s goals kept the U.S. in the game, but none of his scores were bigger than the last one that won the game...

T.J. Oshie delivered a big win and was the hero for Team USA against Russia on Saturday, in what is undoubtedly an instant Olympic classic match. The 27-year-old first-time Olympian put on quite a show and converted four of six shootout chances, including the game-winner, against Russian goalie Sergei Bobrovsky. After a scoreless first period, Russia was first to score in the second period. Team USA charged back and scored a goal at the end of the second period, capitalizing on penalties against Russia. The choice of who will be on the cover of the "NHL 14" video game is up to fans of the series, but it's been narrowed down to two goalies. Martin Brodeur of the New Jersey Devils is doing battle against Sergei Bobrovsky of the Columbus Blue Jackets.
As an extra push, Electronic Arts, the company behind the series, has released a video of the two set to some interesting graphics. The video is meant to mimic one of the most popular versions of the game that has ever been released, "NHL 94."
Even 20 years later, the game still has a massive following. Brodeur joined the league in 1994, but just missed the deadline to be included in the game. That version of the title uses the 1992-1993 NHL rosters.
Fans can cast their vote for who they want on the cover over at the NHL website.
