“You’ve given them everything,” Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman tells Christian Bale’s Batman in The Dark Knight Rises. “Not everything,” Batman replies; “not yet.”
Might that be Christopher Nolan’s message to DC fans as well?
The news has been spreading like wildfire in a wheat field since yesterday, across pretty much every site on the internet, originating from Latino Review: rumor has it that WB’s long gestating Justice League film is back in the works, with Christopher Nolan possibly producing, Zack Snyder (possibly) directing, and — perhaps the biggest bombshell — Christian Bale returning to play Batman alongside Henry Cavill’s Superman.
Now, granted, let’s temper our enthusiasm here — this is Warner Brothers, which have an exemplary track record of killing DC on film properties before launch. This is the studio that managed to halt up production on a David Goyer (co-writer of The Dark Knight trilogy) penned Flash film,...

With Will Beale's script for "Justice League" having been tossed to the wind, Warners is rumored to be doing a not entirely unexpected move - they're praying to Christopher Nolan.
In a video report over the weekend, Latino Review says that Christopher Nolan is set to become the DC Universe equivalent of Marvel's Kevin Feige (albeit less hands on). Anything to do with DC features goes through him.
Much like with the upcoming "Man of Steel", he is expected to 'godfather' and produce the "Justice League" film and possibly other superhero franchise launchers.
While that bit of news sounds very credible, the video doesn't stop there and moves forward with one hell of a rumor. That speculation is who will direct and who could well be starring in what could be either a "Justice League" film, or possibly a "World's Finest" feature. Here's the key quotes:

It's not all the time that some juicy rumor or news piece comes up later on a Sunday night, but lo and behold, here were are. If this rumor turns out to be true, then this might perhaps be one of the bigger surprises for comic book fans, and for Warner Bros' plans for the overall DC universe. Let's talk about it inside.
Lately the rumors surrounding Justice League haven't been the most positive. First word came out that the movie was 'on hold' so to speak until they saw how well Man of Steel does in theaters, and then came reports that Will Beale's script had been tossed out because it was garbage. Now it looks like there's some light shining in on this little movie every fanboy is hoping for. According to Latino-Review's El Mayimbe, who made a video report (below):

While Kevin Tsuijhara has stepped into the role of Warner Bros. Pictures CEO, Jeff Robinov remains the head of the motion picture group.
Talking about the studio's upcoming slate, Robinov suggests something that has long been suspected - that Warners will hold back on green lighting "Justice League" until the box-office success of its Superman reboot "Man Of Steel" is known.
"Justice League" is presently targeting a Summer 2015 release with Will Beale ("Gangster Squad") working on the screenplay. At last report, the team will consist of just Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and The Flash.

The unconfirmed details keep on coming, and this time the rumor concerns over the characters and team for the upcoming Justice League film. The information here comes from Cosmic Book News, so take it with a grain of salt, but it does sound realistic.
Head into the following incarnations of the popular DC Comics characters for the 2015 film :
Superman — ‘Superman is essentially the same character from Man of Steel and Zack Snyder is consulting regarding the writing of the character.’
Batman — ‘The strategist of the group. Batman doesn’t really want to be involved with these superpowered beings he considers too powerful. Easily the most complex written.’ The article also links to another article about a possible Batman movie reboot in 2016.
Wonder Woman — ‘She has only been in Man’s World a few short months. The Wonder Woman script Michael Goldenberg is developing will be set before the Justice League movie.

A few weeks ago, the first real information about the plot of the Justice League film hit when a rumor began circulating that Darkseid would be the villain. To follow up that information, Latino Review has posted a report indicating which specific comic books screenwriter Will Beale is drawing the inspiration for his script from.
The report is extremely specific, and if correct it means the film will be based on three issues of Justice League Of America. The issues are 183-185, all released in 1980. The story of those issues is certainly of the high-stakes this film needs. Summing it up as basically as possible, it involves Darkseid planning the destruction of Earth by blasting it with a ray in order to move his planet, Apokolips, into the Earth’s place.
For a film of this magnitude, it was assumed the crisis would have to be bigger than just affecting Gotham City or Metropolis,...

Who's ready for some Justice League buzz? All we know for sure is that a Justice League movie is coming in 2015 – but all that means is plenty of time to obsess over rumors until things become more official. While early rumors indicate that Superman and crew will be taking on Darkseid in the long-awaited film, Latino Review is now reporting that it knows which Darkseid comic arc will provide the inspiration for Will Beale’s screenplay: Justice League of America #183-185. In that story, the minions of Apokolips are trying to resurrect Darkseid so that he can use some sort of ray device to destroy Earth 2 and move his planet into Earth 2’s orbit. Hopefully, Beale will avoid the whole “Earth 2” thing, as DC gets a little confusing for...

According to Latino-Review, who also broke Darkseid’s identity, the script of the Justice League movie will be based on a three issue Justice League of America tale written by Gerry Conway with art by George Perez and not on the first arc of the New 52 Justice League as has been widely expected .
Therefore, screenwriter Will Beale would look at older material released in 1980. The storyline in question took place in Justice League of America #183-185 and involves Darkseid attempting to use a beam to knock Earth out of orbit and put his world, Apokolips, in its place.
The story is a crossover between the Justice League and the Justice Society of America from Earth-2, as the two teams were planning to meet up when Darkseid initiated his plan. Again, it’s certainly worthy of gathering Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and The Flash to work together alongside Aquaman and Martian Manhunter.

Little to nothing is officially known about the "Justice League" movie Warner Bros. is planning beyond the fact that it is due out in 2015. That doesn't stop us from speculating, though, like we did with the rumor that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play Batman in the movie.
The latest rumor to be making the rounds comes from Latino Review, a site which tends to be pretty spot-on with some of its scoops. They're reporting that the "Justice League" movie will be based on Gerry Conway's "Justice League of America" issues 183 to 185.
Will Beale is currently writing the script for "Justice League," and we bet that he is basing the film's story on more than just a couple issues of the ensemble DC superheroes' story. Still, the rumor that he is using these issues lines up with another rumor surrounding the project: It will feature Darkseid as a villain.

As Warner Bros. still looks for a director to take on their Justice League movie, more details about the film are leaking out. Thanks to our friends at Latino-Review we've learned what Justice League comic book story arc served as inspiration for the script that Will Beale is writing.
Gerry Conway’s 1980 Justice League Of America 183-185 is the story that we'll see brought to life on the big screen. Basically the three issue arc features the superhero team coming together to stop Darkseid from destroying Earth by blasting it with a death ray that’ll move Apokolips into the Earth’s place.
Here's the description from the comic:
im Starlin cover cover. (story line runs through #183-185) The annual team-up for the Justice League of America and the Justice Society of America begins in this issue. This year the two teams, even with an assist from the New Gods,...

There's been almost no detail spilled other than a release date of 2015 for the planned Justice League movie from Warner Bros. Although screenwriter Will Beale has been tapped to conjure up a kick ass story for the film, the pic is still without a director or cast (that we know of, anyway), which leaves us very little to get jazzed for other than the hope that it will deliver a worthy team up of DC's integral superheroes. Now, Latino Review has the rumor of where the...

It sounds like Lone Ranger star Armie Hammer might get another chance to play Batman in the upcoming Justice League movie that Warner Bros. is currently developing. He was actually cast in the role the first time around when George Miller was attached to direct it. The movie fell apart for various reasons, but since then Hammer has become a much bigger star.
According to a "very good source," from Moviehole, the Social Network and Mirror Mirror star is ”back on WB’s radar” for the part of Batman in Justice League.
It makes sense that the studio would want Hammer back on board. I think he's a pretty solid choice to take on the role, he's got that Bruce Wayne charisma. The studio's already seen Hammer in the suit, they know he can pull off the role because he's auditioned for them before, and they gave him the part.

We made it through the Ben Affleck saga and earlier this week it was Andy and Lana Wachowski, but can fans awaiting the Justice League movie endure this latest name added to the rumored Warner Bros. director shortlist? Superman Super Site reports Brett Ratner (X-Men: The Last Stand) is also being considered for the coveted job of bringing DC’s finest together at last.
The site claims to have a source close to the project who has told them the following:
“The studio is very pleased with the work that Brett (Ratner) has done as a producer and director on past projects. They are now very interested in seeing what he can do with helping finally bring this group of iconic superheroes to the big screen!”
I’m not sure to what extent fans will agree with that assessment. I’ll admit I really liked the Rush Hour films when...

An outrageous rumor has hit the net that Warner Bros. is considering bringing on Brett Ratner to direct Justice League. The script is currently being written by Gangster Squad scribe, Will Beale. The rumor originates from Superman Super Site who claims an inside source says,
The studio is very pleased with the work that Brett [Ratner] has done as a producer and director on past projects. They are now very interested in seeing what he can do with helping finally bring this group of iconic superheroes to the big screen!
I just want to say that I think this rumor is complete bullcrap. The news comes from a site I've never heard of until today, and I know that in itself doesn't discredit them, but why in the world would Warner Bros. go to a director that fans dislike to direct this property? And how can they be pleased with his past work?...

On this weekend’s Saturday, as you may remember, Ben Affleck has said that he won’t be working on the Justice League movie.
Well, now comes word that The Matrix trilogy directors Andy and Lana Wachowski may be in contention for the job as well.
No doubt, the superhero team-up movie is now a major priority for the Warner Bros. studio in the hope that Justice League would serve as a launching pad for other DC heroes like Wonder Woman, The Flash as well as a revamped Green Lantern.
The Australian site Moviehole states that with Warner Bros. enthusiasm for Cloud Atlas, which hits theaters on October 26th, 2012, the Wachowskis are definitely under consideration.
Furthermore, the duo co-wrote and produced the graphic novel adaptations of V for Vendetta and Ninja Assassin and directed, wrote and produced Speed Racer through the company.
But that’s all speculations. All we know...
