[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Fear The Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 12, “The Road Ahead.”] The Fear The Walking Dead series finale has come and gone, and throughout all of the story arcs, several actors on the show had their own theories of how their characters and the show at large would wrap up. When touching on the series finale, Kim Dickens said she’s much happier with her character’s second ending, which saw the once-thought-dead Madison Clark reunite with her once-thought-dead daughter, Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey). “The Dell Diamond sacrifice was a surprise to me, and I wasn’t—I wasn’t that happy to leave at that moment,” she remembers. “I also thought Madison would’ve frickin’ climbed or gotten out of there somehow!” Thankfully, as it turned out, Madison had gotten out of there somehow—and Dickens had the chance to give her character a more hopeful and fitting conclusion. “I had a...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Fear The Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 12, “The Road Ahead.”] Who said joy can’t be found in the rotted depths of the end of the world? All post-apocalyptic pessimism is banished in the final scenes of Fear The Walking Dead’s finale, “The Road Ahead.” The alive, then dead, then alive, then dead, then alive again (long story) Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) was at last able to pull her daughter, Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey), in for a tearful embrace. And as a bonus, Daniel (Ruben Blades) even gets his long-missing orange tabby cat back. Yep—Skidmark lives! We chatted with showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg about how long that emotional reunion was in the making, whether or not they considered resurrecting other fan favorites in the finale, and whether there’s a chance certain Fear characters might appear in future The Walking Dead projects. When Alycia Debnam-Carey departed last season,...

You’re not gone until you’re gone. At least that’s what I told people when they realized it took eight seasons for “Fear the Walking Dead” to wrap up.
“Fear” bested predictions and became one of the longest-running television spin-offs currently on air. While ratings dwindled and characters were written off over the years, it maintained a decent cult following — some tuning in for Alycia Debnam-Carey, who came into her own as an actress on the show following “The 100,” while others begrudgingly watched to keep up with the “Walking Dead” universe, after characters like Morgan (Lennie James), Dwight (Austin Amelio) and Sherry (Christine Evangelista) were transferred from the original series.
A key to its success, “Fear” never shied away from a soft reboot. Every season tackled a new approach to its storytelling, sometimes in the span of a few episodes. Early seasons of “Fear” felt migratory even,...

This Fear the Walking article contains spoilers.
After eight seasons, the popular zombie horror series Fear the Walking Dead came to a close with a two-part finale, concluding the saga of Madison Clark and her fight to survive the zombie apocalypse. Along the blood-soaked way, there is plenty of death and betrayal as the survivors battle for the fate of Padre, an island refuge that becomes threatened by the ravenous undead hordes amid the power struggle between the living. Telling a largely self-contained story within the wider Walking Dead universe, the Fear the Walking Dead series finale provides its main characters with a send-off and perhaps the closest thing they’ll ever get to a happy ending.
Here are all the major deaths in the Fear the Walking Dead series finale, what becomes of those who survive long enough to make it to the end credits, and how the show resolves the mystery of Alicia,...

Spoiler Alert: This article contains details of the series finale of Fear the Walking Dead, which aired tonight on AMC.
“At first it was written to be very, flowery and beautiful and wonderful hugs and loving,” reveals Colman Domingo of the final partings in tonight’s Fear the Walking Dead series finale. “That’s just not the truth of our characters,” the Emmy-winning actor adds of why that was not the ending viewers saw with his often devious Victor Strand, Kim Dickens’ Madison Clark or Rubén Blades’ Daniel Salazar.
“We were very strong, very strong-willed characters, and we should end in a very complex way.”
After eight seasons, a real-life global pandemic that made the Twd spinoff seem almost documentary in tone, and a vast expansion of the zombie apocalypse universe on AMC, the Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson-created series certainly concluded in a very emotionally complex way Sunday.

Is anyone else beginning to get the sense that bringing Kim Dickens back under the same showrunners who discarded her was a bad idea?
Madison Clark has been a shell of her former self since her return, but Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 10 was legitimately one of the worst hours of TV I've ever watched because the writing is so off for all of these great characters.
Obviously, the show would never be able to recapture the magic of Fear the Walking Dead Season 3, but I didn't think the bar could get any lower than Fear the Walking Dead Season 5 and Fear the Walking Dead Season 7.
Madison's quest to find Alica's corpse wasn't bad because, as a parent, she wanted to ensure her daughter was laid to rest.
Madison holds on to a lot of guilt for many of her actions, but she'll never get over not being around to save her children.

With a show as inconsistent as Fear the Walking Dead, you never know what you'll get.
Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 8 was another middle-of-the-road installment, but it did feature reunions, callbacks, and a shocking death that should usher in the final episodes of the series.
Since Charlie's arrival on Fear the Walking Dead Season 4, she's been one of the most polarizing figures in franchise history.
That's what you get when you kill someone as pure as Nick Clark and live to tell the tale.
There was an element of ambiguity surrounding Charlie's fate since the end of Fear the Walking Dead Season 7 because, with such a severe case of radiation, she stood to die soon after the events at Strand's tower.
Many believed she was dead, including Daniel, who stepped in to become a father figure to her in her time of need.
I'd love someone, mostly the creatives,...

Guess what kicks off this week? Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas!!
That’s right, folks. We’re still celebrating spooky season, but Christmas is already upon us. Who’s ready??
In addition to Christmas, we’ve got the Billions finale, Fellow Travelers, and 30 Coins, among other things. Find out what we recommend you watch this week.
Saturday, October 21
8/7c Where Are You, Christmas? (Hallmark)
What would happen if Christmas ceased to exist?
Well, in addition to the pretty enormous faith-based ramifications, the world would be a lot less colorful with a lot less joy.
Where Are You, Christmas paints the picture using the colorless world that we wouldn’t want to experience. This will be a Hallmark movie to remember!
8/7c Twas the Text Before Christmas (Gaf)
Texting doesn’t exactly elicit the warm fuzzies, but this Great American Family original aims to prove otherwise.

It all comes down to this, Fear the Walking Dead fans.
AMC on Wednesday went public with the official trailer for the final six episodes of its hit Walking Dead spinoff.
One thing that's certain after Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 6, the show is being handed back to the OGs.
Kim Dickens' Madison Clark is back at the center of the action and'll be reunited with Colman Domingo's Victor Strand.
The good news?
They look to be working together, which means they've probably managed to overcome the awkwardness of Strand's mad power grab last season.
Also back in the mix is Daniel Sharman's Troy Otto, the man Madison bludgeoned to death on Fear the Walking Dead Season 3.
So, how did he return? We're not sure, but it looks like he has Alicia's prosthetic arm.
When fans last saw Alicia, she was on a beach with the arm,...

Ever since Madison Clark popped back up after most characters thought she was dead, I wondered how the series would handle her reunions with the people from her past.
Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 3 was a satisfying hour of this Walking Dead spinoff because it had a clear focus, many reunions, and significant shifts that will drive the final three episodes of the first half of Fear the Walking Dead Season 8.
We'll start with Madison and June. Kim Dickens and Jenna Elfman are two of the finest actors, and they managed to deliver the raw emotion required to make the pair crossing baths both believable and impactful.
If you watch Fear the Walking Dead online, you know Madison saved June's -- and everyone else's -- lives when she blew up the stadium with herself inside as a sacrifice.

This article contains Fear the Walking Dead spoilers through season 8 episode 1.
The eighth and final season of Fear The Walking Dead is now underway, and from the shocking deaths of major characters to nuclear attacks on Texas by a cult, it’s sure been a wild ride. Nowhere is that more true than with Alicia Clark (Alycia Debnam-Carey), who’s been here since the pilot and has the scars to show it.
Kicking off the final season with an episode title like “Remember What They Took From You” seems to be setting us up for major catharsis by the end of things. For a character like Alicia, who has lost so much but has kept a sense of optimism, the role she plays (if she plays a role at all) may be a key to unlocking the themes of the final season. But first, we’re going to have to figure out where she is.

“Fear the Walking Dead” begins its eighth and final season Sunday, bringing the curtain down on an impressive eight-year run and more than 100 episodes produced. This installment begins with a compelling hook, boo-hiss baddies lined up and the stage set for a suitably epic showdown with some degree of finality to it. Then again, maybe not.
As the first “Walking Dead” spin-off begins its last descent, it’s worth reflecting on the world it debuted in back in fall 2015. At the time, “The Walking Dead” was not only a ratings behemoth but a genuine pop culture phenomenon, commanding both heated watercooler discourse and high-minded thinkpieces.
The temperature has come down substantially in the years since, but that does nothing to diminish what the franchise achieved at its peak, and by extension how “Fear the Walking Dead” rode the tide to some surprising artistic highs. The show could be uneven at...

It's no secret that Fear the Walking Dead is the most inconsistent series on TV in recent memory.
The first three seasons were not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but under the leadership of Dave Erickson, certain aspects of those initial three seasons towered above the main series.
With Erickson's departure at the end of Fear the Walking Dead Season 3, there was a noticeable dive in quality, thanks to inconsistent pacing, poorly developed characters, and some nonsensical storytelling.
Every time the series has shown some semblance of quality, it has returned off the rails before we get accustomed to it.
Surprisingly, the first three episodes of Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 are some of the strongest since those initial three seasons, giving the sense that the latest revamp might bring the show to a close with some dignity.

AMC brought Fear the Walking Dead and the new The Walking Dead spinoff The Walking Dead: Dead City to the 2023 WonderCon held March 24-26 in Anaheim, CA. While Dead City made its WonderCon debut, this year’s panel for Fear the Walking Dead marks its final time appearing at what’s referred to as the smaller, more low-key version of the massive San Diego Comic-Con.
Series stars Kim Dickens, Jenna Elfman, and Christine Evangelista joined co-showrunner Ian Goldberg and executive producer Michael Satrazemis for the show’s final season panel. Last month, AMC announced that the eighth season of Fear the Walking Dead, which is set to begin airing on May 14th, will be the final season. Years in the making. Let’s do this!” The series finale is being directed by Michael E. The best way to describe Fear the Walking Dead is a rollercoaster.
What started as a compelling look into how the world fell became a tedious affair, and we're surprised it's even getting an eighth and final season to tie up loose ends.
The series was destined for success on its brand name alone, and looking back, it's hard to believe that it is the same show we watched during the first three seasons.
It's time to dive into how the show lost most of its viewers and whether anything could have prevented the series from becoming what it is today: A shell of its former self.
Fear the Walking Dead Season 1 premiered to a decent response and broke several cable records.
It started as a series about the Clark family and their struggle to come to terms with the fall of the world.

Last year, The Walking Dead wrapped up its eleven season run on AMC. And while other spin-offs featuring the likes of Daryl, Maggie, Negan, Rick, and Michonne are on their way, AMC has now confirmed that the first Walking Dead “companion series”, Fear the Walking Dead, is also coming to an end. The eighth season of the show, which is set to begin airing on May 14th, will be the final season.
The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Fear the Walking Dead season 8 will be split into two parts, with six episodes airing in May and June and the remaining six set for later in the year (an exact date is yet to be determined). AMC Studios and AMC Networks entertainment president Dan McDermott provided the following statement: “It’s a truly exciting year for The Walking Dead Universe, as we conclude an epic journey on Fear the Walking Dead, which...

Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 will be its last. AMC announced the forthcoming end during its Television Critics Association presentation on Tuesday, January 10, also revealing that like The Walking Dead, the spinoff’s final run will be released in two six-episode parts. Additionally, the network shared a clip from the final season premiere featuring Kim Dickens‘ Madison Clark being held captive, an update on her kidnapping seen in the Season 7 finale. Check out the clip, above, and first-look photos at the last season, below. Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 Part 1 will begin Sunday, May 14 at 9/8c on AMC and AMC+. The exact premiere date for the final six episodes will be announced at a later date, but AMC says Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 Part 2 will come out in 2023. The eighth and final season of Fear the Walking Dead picks up after the Season 7 finale, when Morgan’s (Lennie James...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Fear The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 16, “Gone.”] The episode is titled “An Earlier Heaven,” but make no mistake — Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) has returned to the land of the living. Having survived her ordeal with flaming walkers in a burning baseball stadium, she’s here to stay; and she’s brought next season’s presumed antagonists with her. TV Insider chatted with Dickens about preserving Madison’s “wobbly moral compass,” which new detail about her character came from her own imagination, and Madison’s remarkably indestructible leather jacket. Lauren “Lo” Smith/AMC I was looking back at old interviews from when Madison “died” in 2018, and you said the side of her you had the most fun playing was the “dirty, filthy, unhinged” side. When you came back, how important was it to you to make sure that part of her was still there? Kim Dickens: It was very important to me.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Fear The Walking Dead Season 7 Finale, “An Earlier Heaven.”] She’s ba-ack! After an overzealous pressure cooker’s worth of building anticipation — like, six long months of it, and far longer if you count all the years fans fervently speculated she wasn’t dead — Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) made her triumphant return to Fear The Walking Dead. And dang, whatever your thoughts on Season 7 as a whole, it’s good to see her again. The story here isn’t just “look, Madison!”, it’s also “how, Madison?” Maddie’s part of Fear’s next group of baddies, though she’s not so villainous herself. As part of Padre, Madison’s been taking children from their parents and loading them onto boats, where they’re brought to a mysterious base. What Padre’s actually doing with the kids is unclear, but ...

No one’s gone ‘til they’re gone! After years of speculation that she was still fighting and surviving out there in the post-apocalyptic world, Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) is set to reappear on Fear The Walking Dead in the Season 7 finale. She’s also confirmed as a regular for Season 8, so she’ll be around for a good, long while. In honor of her imminent return, we wound back the clock to reminisce about eight of Madison’s best moments on Fear. Locking Celia in the Cellar This was the first time we saw just how far Madison would go to protect her family — especially her son. Concerned by how Celia’s (Marlene Forte) beliefs about the dead might negatively influence Nick (Frank Dillane), Madison locked the woman in her own walker-filled cellar and left her to be ripped apart. [Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Fear the Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 15, “Amina.”] Just as Fear the Walking Dead is welcoming back Kim Dickens as Madison Clark, the AMC drama said goodbye to another Clark. The May 29 episode, “Amina,” marked Alycia Debnam-Carey’s last, and following its airing, the actress posted a long farewell on Instagram about “the end of an extraordinary and life changing journey of playing Alicia Clark.” The show “has gifted me so much,” she wrote. “It has been the most extraordinary training ground as an actor where I’ve been given the chance to grow and learn. I’ve had the honour of working with so many inspiring and talented people. It provided new opportunities, such as directing and it has bonded me to such incredible fans that have supported me along the way.” The star made her directorial debut with the Season 7 episode, “Ofelia.” Debnam-Carey was with the show from the beginning,...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Fear The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 9, “Follow Me.”] To get the obvious out of the way: No, Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) does not make her triumphant return in this episode. But she does get a name-drop in a very key scene, which informs the midseason premiere’s themes. Namely, Alicia’s (Alycia Debnam-Carey) suffering, and not just from her mysterious illness. She’s having nightmares about a walker leading her to Padre, and she’s wracked with guilt from the casualties her pursuit of that utopia caused. An encounter with a mysterious stranger might get her to reframe her mindset about leading… and push her to create a community entirely her own. Lauren “Lo” Smith/AMC Alicia has the walker-nightmare, and when she wakes up, she’s in unfamiliar territory. She investigates and finds her mysterious savior about to be killed by a walker. It’s been almost 12 years since the first zombie trekked across our screen in the pilot episode of “The Walking Dead.” The journey has been long and sometimes extremely slow and drawn-out, but alas, it’s finally coming to a close.
It’s no wonder the series and its spinoffs have maintained such a huge following over the years. The series was already a hit in comic form, and after its debut in 2010 “The Walking Dead” became one of the biggest ratings hits on all of television, spawning spinoffs and web series to expand the universe.
Now that we’re coming to the end of the flagship “The Walking Dead” series (which is in its final season), it’s as good a time as any to go back and experience the entire universe as it unfolds in chronological order.

For awhile there it really seemed as though the flagship Walking Dead series would go on forever.
AMC probably would have preferred it do so as it’s one of the network’s biggest-ever hits. But some casting turnover and the lack of new adaptation material from Robert Kirkman’s original comic series finally spelled the end for the show after 11 seasons.
Even though The Walking Dead as a TV show may be shuffling off its mortal coil, The Walking Dead franchise isn’t going anywhere any time soon. It’s almost as if it’s some kind of…reanimated corpse or something? The Walking Dead had already led to the creation of two spinoffs before it left the air and now AMC seems content to produce many more.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for AMC‘s Fear the Walking Dead Season 7, Episode 8, “Padre.”] No one’s gone ‘til they’re gone, and it turns out that Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) wasn’t gone. On Sunday night’s episode of Dead‘s aftershow Talking Dead, we learned Madison had not, in fact, perished at the Dell Diamond stadium way back in Season 4 of Fear the Walking Dead. Dickens is set to return to the zombie drama in Season 7 and star as a series regular in Season 8. And co-showrunner Ian Goldberg confirmed she’s alive — we’re not, say, getting a whole season of her daughter Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) hallucinating her mom as she super-slowly succumbs to the zombie virus. Fear the Walking Dead will soon grant a major wish fulfillment moment for its fans, having officially set the return of Kim Dickens as the show’s maternal demolisher of the dead, Madison Clark. Thus, a surreal reunion is imminent for Season 7B of a series that is nigh-unrecognizable from the era of the character’s controversially-ambiguous Season 4 exit. Interestingly, the plan was set way back in January, requiring Dickens to keep a stupendous secret for nearly a year.
Coming off Sunday’s airing of Fear the Walking Dead’s 7A midseason finale, AMC’s long-running post-show, Talking Dead, paid tribute to concluded spinoff The Walking Dead: World Beyond, and touted a mystery guest, who turned out to be a remote-appearing Kim Dickens. However, the former Fear headliner wasn’t there to reminisce about her starring run, and came right out with the announcement for which fans have been waiting for three-and-half years,...

The prayers of fans of Fear the Walking Dead everywhere have been answered:
Kim Dickens is returning to the series!
AMC announced on tonight’s Talking Dead the renewal of Fear the Walking Dead for an eighth season with Dickens, who played fan-favorite character Madison Clark for the first four seasons, returning.
Dickens will make her first appearance in the second half of Fear the Walking Dead Season 7, returning Sunday, April 17 on AMC, and continue as a series regular in Season 8.
“If there were a Mt. Deadmore, Kim Dickens’ face would be on it. Madison Clark is a foundational character to Twdu — heroic, complex, an everyperson who becomes a warrior and then a force of benevolence,” said Scott M. Gimple, Chief Content Officer of The Walking Dead Universe.
“Kim Dickens’ raw talent, strength, and brilliance will electrify Twdu once more and we couldn’t be luckier to have her back.

One of the most controversial storylines on Fear the Walking Dead has got to be how the series handled the character of Madison Clark.
She flirted with darkness multiple times throughout her four-season run at the wheel of the popular The Walking Dead spinoff, but she seemingly sacrificed herself at the stadium during Fear The Walking Dead Season 4.
While it was painted as an honorable death because she supposedly died saving people, it was a slap in the face to the fans that stuck with the show from the beginning.
With Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 recently concluding, viewers still don't have a definite answer about whether the character Kim Dickens played to perfection truly perished.
The series essentially wrote Madison out to bring Morgan over from The Walking Dead to lead the series, and the way it came about was absurd.

Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 14
After being sidelined for most of the season, Fear the Walking Dead finally throws one of its best characters into the fray. I’m talking about Alicia, of course, who hasn’t gotten nearly enough screen time lately. So it’s interesting (and refreshing) that “Mother” should lean so heavily into what it means to be Madison Clark’s daughter. The episode continues season 6’s trend of unexpected reunions, and this one certainly doesn’t disappoint. But more on that chance encounter in a bit.
In the meantime, let’s talk about Teddy Maddox (John Glover). We already knew he was a bit unhinged, what with being a cult leader and embalming dissenters and wanting to usher in a nuclear Armageddon. Taken individually, any one of those things is a red flag, to be sure. Taken together,...

After being forced to enter a hiatus earlier than planned due to Covid-19, we finally have a return date for Fear the Walking Dead.
AMC announced today that the second half of Fear the Walking Dead 6, featuring nine all-new episodes, will return on Sunday, April 11 at 9 pm/8c.
A new episode of Talking Dead will air later that evening, which probably means something huge is about to go down.
The talk-show spinoff typically airs after the episodes that feature the biggest drama, and given the way Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 7 ended, we're inclined to believe the drama will be off the rails for our characters as they navigate uncharted waters.
As has been the norm for a while now, new episodes of Fear the Walking Dead will also be available early on AMC+ each week.

Fear the Walking Dead is now poised to outlive the soon-to-end mothership series from which it was spun, thanks to AMC’s renewal for a seventh season. While it’s far too early to speculate on Season 7, since the announcement only arrives shortly after the recent midseason finale of Season 6, the renewal will likely boost the rumor that the show’s original main character, Madison Clark (Kim Dickens), will make a momentous return after her presumed death in Season 4.

Fear the Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 16
When it comes to the zombie apocalypse, even the heartiest survivors are ultimately expendable. That is, unless they’re endowed with magical plot armor. Such is the case with Fear the Walking Dead, which hasn’t killed off a main character since Madison Clark died last season. Since then, the series has gone an impressive (and implausible) 14 episodes without losing another main character. This isn’t to say that Fear’s mortality rate is low—just the opposite is true.
