Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
A Balls to the Wall thrill ride!
I've only seen the original Top Gun film on TV once or twice, so I don't really have much nostalgia for it. This film delivered on so many levels: the story, characters, and fighter jet scenes are all top notch! It's like an adrenaline rush via sight and sound, would highly recommend to any film fan!
Godzilla vs. Kong (2021)
Best film of the Monsterverse
This film delivered everything the trailer promised! Best monster fights on film, and the cgi was great! Unlike the previous Godzilla films the fights take place during the day, and you can see the action clearly. Even the Hong Kong night fight is brilliantly lit with the neon glows of buildings. The human story is meant to drive the plot mostly, but the team that follows Kong is well done. The film doesn't overstay its welcome and moves swiftly to the action scenes we most came for. No politics/preaching just plain fun!
Collateral (2004)
A Hell of a Ride!
Tom Cruise and Jamie Fox put on a Hell of a performance in this Thriller! The night club scene is one of my favorites! The tension in this film is high, Tom Cruise needs to play a Villian more often, he's great as a no nonsense hit man!
Futmalls (2020)
Kinda like "Black Mirror"
Found this series on Netflix. After reading the plot synopsis of people buying items from the future on a ghostly website, I was intrigued. It did not disappoint! The story flows well from episode to episode and the characters are fleshed out well! The series can be broken up into three different sections, but the way how all characters are integrated throughout the entire season. If you enjoy "Black Mirror" Sci-Fi tech caution, you'll probably enjoy this series also. It ends on a cliffhanger, so I hope another season will happen soon!
The Meg (2018)
A loose adaptation of a good novel
This film was in production limbo for a very long time. The plot synopsis was very interesting so I decided to read the Novel it was based off. After finishing the book I was even more excited to see how this would be adapted to film. Unfortunately the movie plays out more like an action/comedy instead of a sci-fi thriller. Some of the characters were not even in the film or changed drastically from the source material. That aside the film was still enjoyable, just not what I expected it to be. If you enjoy Deep Blue Sea, you'll probably enjoy this film also
Shock Waves (1977)
Underwater Nazi Zombies
I've had lasting memories of this film for years, my Grandpa had it on VHS and it was one of the first horror films I saw as a kid. Took me forever to find out the name of it? Watching again as an adult, and it surpassed my expectations! Definitely worth a watch if you a fan of the zombie genre
Valentine (2001)
Worth a watch
If you a slasher fan it's worth a watch. It's got an interesting mystery/revenge story, some good kills, and a lot of hot Babes as main characters!
Slither (2006)
A Great Ceature-Feature
This was clearly inspired by 80' Horror Classics like Night of the Creeps, Society, and The Thing. If you enjoy those films you'll probably like this. It doesn't take itself too serious, some funny dialogue. More creepy than scary, just a fun creature-feature!
The Sopranos (1999)
Still holds up!
This is my fav TV Series of all time! I recently re-visited the series again during the quarantine and for a series made 20yrs ago it still holds up very well! Also cast mates Michael and Steve have started a new podcast called "Talking Sopranos" where they go in-depth about every episode! So now is the time to check this out if you haven't before
Ngo si seoi (1998)
Classic 90's Jackie Chan
One of Jackie's best films. The action was great, the characters were memorable, definitely check it out if you get the chance! I couldn't find it streaming anywhere, had to buy a DVD copy off eBay, worth the purchase
Stan Helsing (2009)
Super funny horror spoof
I watch this movie every Halloween, it has become a guilty pleasure! Just turn off your brain and enjoy all the wacky characters and jokes! Ignore the low ratings, if you like "Scary Movie" you will like this spoof also
