Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)
Entertaining throughout!
Hey people, this is not the Godfather series, so sit back and enjoy it for what it is - a sequel to a movie about a guy who butchers people with a chainsaw!
Cobra Kai (2018)
Entertaining but vastly overrated
If this show didn't have that 'nostalgic' factor tied to it with the three Karate Kid movies from the 80's, I really think people would call it out for the campiness and unbelievable storytelling which it encompasses. It is quick-paced and fun but so predictable and so many of the actors' lines and actions seem so quickly written that they're hardly believable. I consider this a show to not be taken too seriously and to just have fun watching the cheesiness of it all, and try not to focus too hard on how you could have easily written more believable lines, characters' actions and scenarios...
American Horror Story: Winter Kills (2021)
The story goes to Hollywood...
...and I stopped caring. What a wasted opportunity. They had an interesting story going throughout the first 5 episodes and then ended it with a pile of rubbish. What is the goal of the two women anyway in the end--to trigger the apocalypse? Why would the pill creator suddenly want to take on raising someone else's children? Why wouldn't the agent want to keep Harry alive to keep making a fortune off of him? Did I miss something? And last but not least, for an episode (and story) that incorporates screenwriting into it's story and how "most people try and write for the fame" (to paraphrase), you'd think they would go out of their way to finish strong and avoid their own jabs at sounding like "wannabe" writers...
Dopesick Nation: Death Rattle (2018)
A woman gives mouth to mouth to a homeless junkie...
...as the cameraman just stands there and films it. Further, she's on the phone with 911 as they tell her how to give CPR. And boom (what a surprise!!!) the junkie is revived! Nothing like "reality" TV!
The Blair Witch Project (1999)
Vastly Underrated!!!
So much hate for a movie that made a gazillion dollars in profit! Yes, many people thought they were watching a real documentary when it first came out. And those people were probably going, "Oh my god, did you see Blair Witch?!? That sh** was crazy!!" Then once they found out it wasn't an actual documentary, they turned around and said, "This movie sucks!"
Or, "Terrible story, annoying characters, blah blah blah"! How about the fact that thoughtout the 80 minutes (at the time) of original and groundbreaking cinema, there was hardly a moment where you weren't entertained?
People need to chill out and stop expecting The Exorcist or Cititzen Kane every time a movie is hyped or even overhyped for that matter. Just shut up and enjoy the movie. And if you don't enjoy it, then have the decency to give it more than a 1/10, because this isn't The Room or Showgirls!
For me, this film was intriguing, entertaining, pretty scary on some occasions (if you have an imagination), simple and satisfying.
Easy Rider (1969)
Not for the closed-minded
A beautiful masterpiece that captures the times of which it was filmed in. Those who rate it low are people who want to be spoon fed a typical Hollywood story that goes from point A to point B. What a shame.
The Exorcist (1973)
Deserves to be on IMDb Top 250!!!
I'm not sure why this film isn't on IMBb's Top 250 anymore but it deserves to be in at least the top 50 on the list. Maybe it's because millennials rate such beautiful classics lower since they're not getting the jump scares and torture porn of the modern era of horror... Not sure. Either way, this movie is THE horror film, the Godfather of it's genre! Absolute perfection! And it needs to be recognized as such!
