Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV (2024)
Another of South Park's Predictions
Born in 1995 here. This is MY generation, dudes. This was right before the internet really took fire and this was ALL we had!!! Looked forward to each episode every week. And all I can say is I have been waiting to hear STRAIGHT from Drake Bell's mouth for well over a decade at this point, wondering what happened, and now that we're older I see why.
There are scenes in this documentary that took me back to good memories in the first two episodes, showcasing a lot of scenes through the 90's episodes of All That and The Amanda Show. Also being a sort of slow build to the second half. And the second half had me RIVETED.
Drake's interview is nothing short of shocking, and yes he's a child actor but he's definitely not acting anymore.
If you or anyone you know is a Nickelodeon kid like me you and they (IMO) will find this nostalgic, interesting, questioning, and... very, very disturbing.
I just only wished we heard from Amanda in this.
Seinfeld: The Chronicle (1998)
Flash. I dozed off more to this 'sitcom' than I laughed...
I like the bit how a lot of the bits o like are all in the one show. WOOOOOOOOOOOO! Thank God I'm just one full-hour episode away from bein' finally done with this show!! Still don't understand how it ever lasted this long with its jokes and unfunny real-life experiences from the writers!!!
Seinfeld: The Strike (1997)
Strike
I like how Kramer has been on strike for ages but then goes back to work. Then back on strike. I should make a montage of all of the long awkward silence moments on the show...
Seinfeld: The Betrayal (1997)
Freaky
I like the bit where Heidi Swedberg's ''scary'' wig, she is such a wonderful sport
Seinfeld: The Junk Mail (1997)
George: ''I'M FAMILY! I'M HAVING SEX WITH MY COUSIN!''
I like how George's parents are having a ''bang'' in the back of the van. ''Kissing Cousins/Doing It Cousins.''
Seinfeld: The Millennium (1997)
Party
I like how she changes the numbers on the speed dial depending on the circumstances. 'The Millennium' episode gets credit for ''desiccants'' and since there was no ''year 0'', new century starts on 1 no matter what # it begins with.
Seinfeld: The Van Buren Boys (1997)
Peace
I like the bit where The 'Inside Look' for this ep. wuz solely focused on Michael Richards' physical comedy. That's it. Had nothin' ta do the the entire episode...
Seinfeld: The Checks (1996)
Wooooo
Desperado sucks anyway. Witchy woman is heaps better. ''Well, isn't the president allowed to do anything that they want...'' Me; ''Reminds me of the current U.S. President...'', Co-STAN-za, ''Re-TAR-ded!!!''
Seinfeld: The Chicken Roaster (1996)
''Redrum''
I like the bit where this was, yet again, another decent episode in the series. Kudos, 'Seinfeld' writers!
Seinfeld: The Package (1996)
''Bevo go, 'Boom!'''
I like the bit where ''Fake Erased'', Write-Offs, Mail Frayd, the Ad-''Bomb-able'' Snowman, and the ''Timeless Art of Seduction''... ''I remembered I did a whole project solely based on privacy invasion.'' ''Christmas card nipple'' joke, ''At the Newman's co-worker in the mail 'interrogation rm.' looks like me whenever I watch a typical 'Seinfeld' episode; either bored or actually drifted to sleep...'' 'The Bizarro Jerry' wuz 'Art Vandelay', this ep. is 'Dr. Van Nostrund', one of Newman's many long, pointless dialogues that are just non-sense time fillers, this ep. wuz just as dull & dumb as 'Thre Brisk' wuz...
Seinfeld: The Little Kicks (1996)
Dance
I like the bit where Jerry has to video all the movies for that other guy. Illegal bootleggin', guns, short men (RiP, Jerry Stiller) who don't take no guff from the rest of society'! What more could any ''Sein-Fan'' want from a typical 'Seinfeld' episode!! This is America!!! ''George is like a virus; he attaches himself to a healthy host company, and the next thing you know, the entire staff is infected...'' ''People with guns don't understand. That's why they get guns: too many misunderstandings...'' An okay episode, unlike most of this s(h)itcom, which is just plain 'crapolla'... In the Inside Look Jerry says that a mountain-hiker's life wuz saved from a mountain lion cuz of him, literally, screamin', ''YOU WANT A PIECE OF ME!'' Probably cuz it wuz just him screamin' that scared him off... He probably could've just screamed at him, ''GEORGE IS GETTIN' UPSET!'' and that STILL would've caused the mountain lion ta bounce...'The Little Kicks ep.; ''Illegal bootleggin', guns, short men (RiP, Jerry Stiller) who don't take no guff from the rest of society'! What more could any ''Sein-Fan'' want from a typical 'Seinfeld' episode!! This is America!!!''
Seinfeld: The Soul Mate (1996)
''I love prison.'' ''It is fascinating.'' ''Maybe some day...'' Who writes this crap... Who actually likes this crap...
I like the bit where Jerry told George that Humpty Dumpty should've represented him in the model of the conference room and not the red ranger!!! What a mysterious and stupid episode. ''Oh, help me, Rhonda.'', ''Yes, I think I am better than the mollusk.'', George made it look obvious that he purposely gently layed the briefcase before he left that office room, George to Jerry; ''Let me tell you: That Jerry Lewis-- You wonder how people get to the top? It's ideas like this. Brilliant! Ha!'' That's how Larry David suckered/brainwashed the whole ''Seinfeld'' fanbase into liking this show!!! Kramer to Jerry; ''She can bring home the bacon and fry it in the pan.'' ''Rumple. Squink. Galonk...'' ''I once told a woman to shut up and _____ my _____!'' ''I got a vasectomy this morning...'' ''Wow. Newman sure can run for a fat man...'' A whole lotta gibberish and non-sense in this one ep. alone.'' ''This thing is like an onion; the more layer you peel, the more it stinks.'' ... ''Genius (sarcasm)!'' ''Reversed... vasectomy...''
Seinfeld: The Bottle Deposit (1996)
Van
I like the bit where the whole episode should've just been 'The Bottle Deposit' (that's why the writers always name it, right... Or it cuz Jerry told 'em not to spend a lot of time on comin' up with the name n' focus on the stupid stories). So, anyway, yeah. Just Kramer and Newman's adventure is the only storyline that appealed me, which is usually the case. Either one outta the four or none at all. A whole hour episode that has a lot of bull-ish yammerin' like ''Brad Garett's automechanic 1-0-1'', the whole ''downtown'' scene filler, which is a reference only ''Sein-Fans'' would know 'bout cuz they're that old!!! Overall, just like the whole entire series itself: Meh...
Seinfeld: The Calzone (1996)
Tips
I like the bit where the ending was funny, but I won't spoil it for any non-''Sein-Fans.'' Kramer is the funniest character on the show, which isn't sayin' much when it comes to the show. The guess star whose role was the in-store calzone store guy was really funny too. Larry David as fake George ''Big Stein'' Steinbrenner is just annoying. Thank God this was Larry David's last season.
Seinfeld: The Invitations (1996)
Letter
It's funny that George was really happy when Susan died. They've misused Heidi Swedberg (Susan) throughout an entire season... AGAIN!!!''
Seinfeld: The Friars Club (1996)
Far
I like the bit where ''Oh, you go into a department store, put a suit on, and you walk right out. What are you... Some sort of an idiot...'' Me; ''That's what Elaine did with that dress where Kramer sold his clothes ta 'Bania' in that clothing store in 'The Secretary' episode...
'Inside Look' of '(The) Friars Club'; ''Shootin' that 'burlap river' scene could've drown Michael Richards...''
My favourite 'Seinfeld' character would have to be Susan since she had to be like a babysitter and put up with Lil' George. I still don't know how the writers were able ta get away with that...
Seinfeld: The Shower Head (1996)
Del Boca vista
I liked the bit where Mrs. Seinfeld is peein' in one of Jerry's cups... It's like the writers pulled that idea right outta their rear-ends...
Seinfeld: The Seven (1996)
George: ''I'M FAMILY! I'M HAVING SEX WITH MY COUSIN!''
I like the bit where I got disgusted when George says since he could marry Susan's cousin's daughter since she will become Susan's second-cousin??? Typical Seinfeld jokes...
