Chronicles "for all ages"
4 January 2007
Seriously, who can you say this movie is for all ages. I looked at the ratings and people my age give it a 7. It's a children's film, and a poor one in that. The story starts very slow and gives you a look at 4 children who discover a magical world. I only decided to see this movie because of all the positive things I heard about it. But by the time they're going to enter the Witches' castle, I couldn't take it anymore and stopped watching. There's nothing else to say. It's a total waste of time, only music is good. Nothing actually happens, and no, I'm not the guy who only enjoys action flicks. I love slow movies like the Hours for instant. But this is just completely useless. Book = good, for me it's the only reason to believe people actually watched and enjoyed it.

Bloody awful
31 December 2006
I saw this movie going to the sneak. I sat it through because there was no refund. Vin Diesel is an action hero or whatever, but a failed mobster who tries to be funny in a comedy "based on true events". I mean: COME ON. It couldn't get any worse than this gets, bottom 100 for me, I never gave a 1 to a movie, but this movie was a joke. How this movie was even made remains a mystery to me. I didn't laugh one during the entire movie. Story is as lame as it gets, the jury and the judge where the most ridiculous characters I have ever seen except for Mr Diesel himself. Stick to movies like xXx or Chronicles of riddick. Maybe, and just a very very small maybe a movie like 'the pacifier' is acceptable, but please, know where you stand as an actor. The movie also keeps lasting, I was almost asleep at the end and surprised I wasn't. My advice: Don't waste your time on this.

Great Comedy
31 December 2006
OK, most people will say, it's a comedy, let's rate it low, HELL NO! This is one of these rare good comedy's. Road Trip wasn't as good as this one. Scotty doesn't know is an instant classic. Nice change of scenery for Kristin Kreuk even though she just appears briefly. Scott Mechlowicz continues the good performance he had set in Mean Creek, not to be compared of course, but good performances in both. Michelle Trachtenberg is simply fabulous, she amazes me every time, except in crappy movies like Ice Princess or in "Buffy". She shows she can act in Mysterious skin, but just throws her talent away further down the line. As for the story, it's nothing special, title says it all. The only country they miss is Belgium :). It's a comedy people and yes, it's for teens, not a family movie if you want to hear it. You know what you get when you see it, so stop giving bad reviews about this! Simply amazing comedy if you like these kind of comedy's. And please don't go comparing it to American Pie or something like that. Guess that's all there is to say

Abrams and movies
28 August 2006
First of all I have to say: Abrams is one of my favorite producers, but his writing isn't always that good. Alias stays strong along the way, Felicity and Lost both grow worse the further it goes. Not that they become bad, although I'm starting to get pretty annoyed concerning Lost. But one thing you hear pretty often: Abrams and movies do not go together, many people believed/hoped there would be chance with this movie. I can't really agree, not that the writing was bad. But I just think it's a shame he gets involved in a production like this one. Mission impossible never was one of my favorite movies, not by far. But after hearing that Abrams was gonna make it, I was very curious. MI III follows tom cruise again, but this time family life is involved and so on, it's too unbelievable, there's just too many things in the movie that are wrong. I'm not gonna give any spoilers, but I would advise you not to watch, the acting isn't that good. The action is pretty good, nothing out of the blue, as expected. Watch it if you're a fan of either Tom Cruise, Abrams or the MI-merchandise. Just another action flick, as unbelievable as all the others, but at least you can see it's written by Abrams.

Nothing special
21 August 2006
Having heard and read so many good reviews about this movie, I had pretty high expectations. But you can easily summarize this movie in 1 sentence and some cheap sex-scenes. There's really not much to tell, camera work wasn't that good, it's a wannabe movie. They must've been thinking: Cidade the Deus was a big hit, let's make a crappy movie and sell it by comparing it to this masterpiece. Music makes good some things. Emotions are not well worked out, especially for a movie like this. I really don't understand all the fuss about this. Go see it if you want to, but it's a waste of time and money. The acting isn't bad, but it isn't good neither.

Reunion (2005–2006)
Terrible!!
6 January 2006
One of the worst in it's genre, totally overacting;

I was actually expecting quite a bit out of this one but it was cheap as hell, they already blow it in the first few episodes. I watched 3 episodes to see if it would stay that bad. For starters, the storyline looked promising but as I said, they already take that away in the first three. It's still developing indeed but it's a bit ridiculous. No one is going to believe it, not an adult audience at least.

I'm really disappointed cause Amande Righetti has a stupid character, she's really throwing away her talent by taking roles like this and prostituting herself.

So no, I'm not gonna waste any more time on this show. I'll give it * out of ****

Well, at first, I thought this show wouldn't be that good. But I kept in the back of my mind that Martha Kaufman had produced it and since I like Sex and the City a bunch I gave it a chance. My first impression was that it wasn't that good cause I only knew two actresses and I didn't really like Jennifer's performance, I still don't, she's always a bit overacting. But the other three sisters are amazing. Lizzy Caplan stunned me, I really wouldn't have expected this after Mean Girls. But she does a marvelous job. She brings a bit of fire in the show. But off course she wouldn't be able to do it without Kiele Sanchez who makes a breakthrough here and Laura, who really shows she's got it in her.

So, the story's good, put well together so far, it's getting better with every episode. The only hing that also might bother some of you is René, not because she acts bad, but because of the character she has to play, it's just so annoying to watch at. So overall I really love this show but don't expect Sex and the City cause it's completely different, not worse, but I'm sure that it won't last as long as Sex and the City.

A 7.5 out of 10 I say. Watch it!!

A definition of evil
10 December 2005
It's pretty hard to give a definition of evil, but this movie sure puts it in an other perspective. You will remember movies like wild things. This movie can be placed in the same category as that one, and even though it isn't the genre of movies I'm in to, I had to give this movie a nine. Why? you might ask, the performance of Evan Rachel Wood is enough to get you started. A movie like Wild Things has Neve Campbell, but they just push it, so I would give it like a five. But this movie just drags you in with the flashbacks and the repetitions. We also have a beautiful view on the society these days. The Iraqui problems are brought into this perfectly. So yes, go see this movie, watch Evan Rachel Wood transform into a Really Mean Girl, and of course we're not talking about Lindsay here, but a true actress, finally a youngster with real talent. I might ad, a Natalie Portman of these days!

Max Payne the movie
21 May 2005
It's a truly magnificent movie, a really film noir. You've gotta love it, for those who like Max Payne, they'll love the movie. You're really dragged into the story. And I'd have to say BRUCIE IS BACK, I mean, after this movie and hostage. I really hope he keeps on going for several years. and then you got Jessica Alba, she's really a great talent. I even loved her in Honey, even though the movie was terrible. But in this movie I'm the most surprised by the acting talent of Mickey Rourke. I didn't know he had it. Normally I can't really enjoy a movie with him in it. This movie being in B/W really makes it fantastic. You've got some color now and then, but that's what makes it special. I'd have to say, this is one of the best movies I've seen in my entire life, maybe even the best one of em all, and me being a film freak really shows that's hard to achieve. Robert Rodriguez really got it going this time, I just hope he keeps working like this, because this is truly and utterly his best movie, the rest was building up to this one. Of course we gotta give credit to all the other actors too. But you'll remember Jessica, Bruce and Micky, the most. So I'd advice everyone to go and see it, but it is very violent so you've gotta have a strong heart. not for sensitive watchers. But for those who can't stand blood it isn't that bad, because it's all in black and white. But you can surely find the good in this movie. I almost forgot to credit Clive Owen, how could I. It's one of the best upcoming actors. In closer he really shows he can act and in King Arthur he acts pretty well too. but in closer he stands up straight between actors like Natalie Portman and Julia Roberts, we won't say Jude Law, because he's even better then Jude. And now he keeps himself up next to Bruce Willis, one of the greatest of all times. except this few failures, but that's a bit logical I think. You've gotta try everything, surely while you act as well as he does. But you've gotta pay attention to Clive Owen, his voice is also perfect for a film noir. And off course you can look at all the pretty girls. The dancing scene of Jessica Alba was amazing.

Clive Owen and Natalie Portman
15 January 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Clive Owen is truly brilliant in this movie. He really carries the movie together with Natalie Portman, Julia Roberts also does a great job, but she's not brilliant. Jude Law was the only reason why I did'not give the movie a 10. He really ruins it with his baby face and his silliness. He just can't act. But back to Clive Owen, he's the one ho is not so famous and yet he manages to be the best actor in this whole movie. In King Arthur, you could already see what a great actor he really is. But the plot of that movie wasn't nearly as good as this one. He brings humor in the movie, his one-liners, everything he says and expresses is perfect. Off course you also gotta love Natalie Portman, she's so cute, and just perfect to play this role. I hear a lot of people say that she can't act. But I think she has proved herself in the recent garden state and in this movie. I already loved her in Léon and now I even adore her more. But enough about the actors, let's talk about the movie. Very well acted as stated above. But also the script was very good. Sometimes it looked a little like a theater, this was very well done, it supported the movie. Maybe it was good that Jude Law played this role, because he's very pathetic and he doesn't even realize it, just like in real life. Farther the movie is brilliant. You can laugh, you can cry, it's a mix of emotions. I would also recommend Garden State for the one's who liked this movie. Also with a brilliant Natalie Portman :p
