Money Power Respect (2006)
This movie has it all..
Oh yeah. It has bad actors, bad porn scenes, bad shoot ups, bad drug exchanges, bad everything. I don't know why I saw the whole thing, but I guess I needed to kill some time while cooking dinner. Either they're all crack heads trying to change course in life, or they're actors not worthy of they're titles. Drew is acting OK, but the main character should be expelled from further acting duty. The story is OK, but it seems like they have taken the common Italian Mob film, made a black ghetto version of it with minimized budget and low budget actors. I mean, even the "bling" looks cheap in this movie ! Naw, films like these just can't make it without Ice-T he he. Or, throw in Andre 3000 and make a decent comedy out of it, but please, don't do it like this. 'These clowns wouldn't last a day in Brandbergen', to quote a certain genius.
Bad Eggs (2003)
Saaaad
Ok. Sad. Predictable. Not funny. Australian action. I dunno... These are minutes of my life which I will never ever get back.... ever...
sorry.
A Clockwork Orange (1971)
Excellent
Though I've seen it a few times, I felt the urge to give a comment on this masterpiece ! Unbelievably produced in 1971 by mastermind Kubrick, this movie takes you on a journey into the mind of a disturbed mind obsessed with violence. The thing is, that what seemed to be a drastic production of a culture hardly ever seen in 1971, today this film makes an excellent, though a bit overproduced, image of todays society. Take away the silly outfits, the naive community and the classical music, replace these with Doc Martens/bomber jackets/shaved heads/swastika symbols, a hardened society and a Skrewdriver album. Suddenly you have a production of the future to be of some unlucky individuals.
This is a movie of which I have never seen anything like. It's a must-see production !
Willard (2003)
Boring start, interesting ending.
Not a great movie, though could be nice to look at when not having the energy to go rent an ordinary thriller movie. If you're afraid of rats this is the movie to tickle yourself with =)
There is a small reference I feel, to Norman Bates in Psycho, both the actors (son and mother) and the atmosphere in the first half of the movie implies a few parallells. Nice movie, not great but good. They should however get things going a bit earlier than here, you tend to get bored after 20 minutes of weirdness.
Equilibrium (2002)
Matrix meets George Orwells 1964
With Matrix-like effects and the obvious reference to George Orwells literary masterpiece "1964", this movie is bound to become a great success. Great acting, interesting subject and nice effects ! The end though was like a sequence out of Star Wars or "V" which was a bit disappointing, but altogether it was an excellent film !
