iCarly (2021)
Wish it got a proper ending.
With its recent cancellation and the finale of season three being a cliffhanger, I've never been so disappointed with a show cancellation.
The ICarly "Cinematic Universe" lasted from 2007-2023 and only one of the four shows got a proper finale (that being the original ICarly) and it disappoints me that this show can't even get a proper ending.
Sure the first three shows were for kids, but they're still special to people who watched it when they were younger.
This show is fine to say the least. I had watched the first 2 seasons last year and thought they were fun (after binging every other ICarly "cinematic universe" show) but after a year, I kinda forgot what this show was like.
Laugh tracks are constant (like the original) and it makes a show about modern day internet celebrities outdated from the beginning.
The first episode of season three went so fast that I barely knew how to react to any of it, and the laugh tracks didn't help as only some of the jokes landed.
You can tell what would happen next in this final episode but I still feel like we're missing out on the true ending this show needs.
Why doesn't Nickelodeon give this show a special final episode to finish the cliffhanger in the season three finale and end the ICarly "cinematic universe" once in for all. It would be the true ending to one of their biggest shows, and you already know where it's going so you don't have to write as much.
I'd still give it a 6/10 but that's because I've seen the original, if I hadn't, this would just be an outdated comedy show, but for now, it's okay.
The Fantastic Four (1994)
It feels fan-made.
I watched this on YouTube (for free), as I wanted to watch every Marvel film.
It was made to be unreleased and you can tell, extremely low budget, boring plot, and the special effects are so bad, it's distracting.
The movie feels fan-made because of the crappy special effects anyone could make, the more comic book like designs, and the Thing looking like a combination of E. T. and a stereotypical alien.
There's a scene where some doctors come in for blood samples, and to show them being beat up, they spin the frame a few times and play sound effects, and they really like sound effects, which get extremely distracting.
Doctor Doom is a joke but at least he's funny as hell when he tries to be serious, mainly because of the comic book design not translating well into movie form.
Compared to the other Fantastic Four movies, it's the worst, but I would highly suggest not watching any of them, even if the 2000s are goofy and are fun to laugh at.
Compared to Batgirl, this was always meant to be unreleased, with Marvel denying its existence for the longest time, but Batgirl was meant to be released but was cancelled because they thought it would bomb, even though they could've released Batgirl on a streaming service, compared to this mistake of a film.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (2022)
Amazing for any fan of the Guardians movies.
Extremely fun to watch, and it's great to expand Mantis as a character. I would highly suggest watching this for an under 40 minute adventure.
And the animated intro and ending was great.
It's extremely funny and Kevin Bacon is great in this movie. He acts like any celebrity would when 2 alien looking people bust into your house to capture you as a gift.
Mantis exploring Earth is amazing, as it truly shows her fun but curious character perfectly. And Drax just being himself is hilarious and amazing to watch.
So if you're looking for something funny that isn't super lore based, it's here. Great for any Christmas to come.
