Fallout 3 (2008)
Decent
Basically It's and RPG game based after an apocalypse, you've been living underground in a bomb shelter your whole life. Your dad leaves the bomb shelter, you go out to see where he went. And the story begins. I found this game Amazing, Except that I got bored really quick, heres what the game has going for it. 1.) Great graphics 2.) Huge, very detailed post apocalyptic landscape 3.) Good Controls 4.) Unique mix between RPG, and FPS
Things that may work against the game, (rating) 1.) Extremely Violent 2.) Sexual Content 3.) Confusing Questing, No linear progression (-3)
Only problem with this game, the landscape gets a little dull after a while, its hard to determine what to do sometimes, and you find yourself wandering around (Example, "go find this" well you have a whole city to look for it and no clue where to go. so you just end up wandering around looking, there's no real linear progression) . It gets a little boring. so I'm going to give this game a 7 out of 10, because if it wasn't for the lack of descriptive quests and explanation of were to go it would probably rate a 10. but wandering around for hours isn't my idea of a good time.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (2006)
Severely Overrated
A lot of people believe this to be on of the best RPG game's ever, Although this game does have a few things going for it, over all I thought the game was rather mundane compared to other RPG game's I've played. I'll go through my Initial impression of the game and explained why excitement quickly turned to disappointment. when I started the game, I enjoyed the controls, walking with the normal W,A,S,D as normal, but I liked controlling the sword and shield with the mouse to block and attack. which most RPG's auto block and hit for you, as you simply select your target. after escaping the Initial Underground area I was out in the open, and I though the graphics of the game were great, no problem's there. I started out questing, and found the quest system very confusing, the quest's told you to go to a certain place and talk to a certain person, but there were a lot of hidden objectives, that were not covered in your quest log, which left you wandering for hours searching. Another thing I noticed was the map was relatively small for an RPG. I saved up money at the start got myself a horse which is completely pointless as you can open up the map at anytime and instantly move to any point on the map. Exploring would have been cool if not for the fact that you can move anywhere instantly. What Dungeons? you're choices of dungeon's to explore are a few dank holes in the ground and and 1 of 4 randomly selected gates you enter to hell, that just repeat over and over again until you complete the quest. not to mention the game randomly crashes your PC god forbid you should Alt+tab Oblivion considers this sac-religious and will crash. There are several 3rd party patches that you can get to fix the plethora of error's present in the PC version. But lets just steer away from bug's and error's the same could be said for 90% of the Console, PC converts out there. Regardless I was severely disappointed with the lack of content in this game, you can visit a dozen towns/city's they all look a little bland, there's nothing really to explore, and I'm not kidding there's like 4 - 6 randomly selected maps when you enter a gate that you can explore, and memorize because you'll be back to them 100 times, and the few holes in the ground like the random mine or whatever you enter... well I could complain forever, although I cannot say I am completely surprised all the other games in the elder scrolls series ended up the same way. Start the game impressed, then restarting the game as a rogue so I can go steal stuff from all the store keepers at night. and quit. no replay value what so ever.
Don't get me wrong, this game is great for entry-level player's or people that don't commonly play RPG games. As it's not complicated as most RPG's, aside from some of the confusing quest info.
Transformers (2007)
Honest Review
Best movie I've seen in a long time, First movie I've ever went back to the theater to see again, and considered going a third time.
Let me also point out that I've scoured the internet reading all the bad reviews, for anyone reading these reviews Don't bother listening. The movie was great, Transformers managed to keep a good balance of drama, action, and comedy. Which kept me in my seat even though my kidneys were shutting down because I had to pee so bad. All the complaints I've seen on the internet can be easily dismissed. Since all complaints are the focus of 2 things, one people compare it to generation 1. I grew up with G1 I'm glad they changed things, the cartoon was dry, I've watched it again as an adult and if they brought that back to theaters which I was afraid of, the sales would have toped 37 dollars and a piece of lint. If you like G1. then watch the G1 movie. secondly the other complaint people have mad is that the movie is military propaganda, or a car advertisement. Of course the military would be involved in fighting giant invading evil robots. and the auto-bots are cars. what did you expect? the auto-bots don't even have GM symbols on them just the auto-bot insignia, and last time I checked the military hasn't ever had to fight of giant robots. the movie was great entertainment and there was never a time in the theater were I was left bored waiting on the movie to pick up again, also it was one of the few movies were everyone in the theater was laughing or clapping, and also got a round of applause at the end, this movie kills all the other recent flops, the sales speak for themselves, Go see it, you wont regret it. you will want to see it again.
Live Free or Die Hard (2007)
Die hard
I went out to see die hard 4, First let me say that it was the best of the die hard series from my perspective. The only thing I would say is that Its continually been redone. John McClain is in the same situation hes always in, bad guys are being bad. he kills them all. and saves the day. Its nothing original. Its been the same as Die hard 1 in every movie. Although I like the die hard series and believe this is the best one there were times in the theater I was just like "come on, come on! get to the point already" I was never "on the edge of my seat" or excited because its all been done before. its worth seeing but after seeing it, its not my first choice at the box office.
V for Vendetta (2005)
Horrible
I think i could say without a doubt, that this is quite possibly the worst movie I've ever seen in my entire life. and I'm sure ill have 1000 people defending this movie. personally everyone seems to focus on the movie as this god send political message. I personally do not. and seriously i cant really take a super-hero seriously that looks like some mutilated musketeer that chills in an upper-class version of the teenage mutant turtles sewer headquarters, and listens to "chick rock". I think the reason i found this movie so awful is that from my point of view this movie was a sad attempt to give kids another reason to say "down with the man",. and huddle in little groups playing dungeons & dragons and fantasize about how cool "V" is and how it would be if they were that cool.. but honestly I'm to old to be called a kid,. and to young to be accepted as an adult. so I'm in the middle ground here. and i just seriously don't understand how people liked this movie..
If you liked the movie, great. if you didn't, better. but people get to wrapped up in this politics garbage, instead of looking at it for what it is, entertainment. and in this case, its just really poor quality entertainment.
