Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)
"Laugh it up, Fuzzball"
Star Wars has lost its edge. The fantasy, the excitement, the anticipation seems to be in a galaxy far far away. Attack of The Clones was Lucas showing off his CGI muscles and forgetting completely about the characters that many have grown to love.
Naturally Star Wars fanboys will attack my criticism and say that Lucas has produced another masterpiece. Unfortunately, Lucas has lost interest in his characters and now enjoys filming battle sequences. The dialogue is horribly cliche'ed and horribly acted.
Redeeming values are few and far between in this over blown popcorn movie that lacks a heart.
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001)
The epitome of Kevin Smith's World.
Kevin Smiths world consists of long running gags and comic books. His other films for Viewaskew had more of an independent feel, lacking the commercial aspects of Jay and Silent Bob. But by no means does that take away from Kevin Smith's final film in the Jersey trilogy. In fact, this film combines all of the hilarious aspects of all Smith other films, having almost ever character making a small cameo here and there. This film revolves around the two notorious henchman, Jay and Silent Bob. Few believed they could carry their own movie, but with all the cameos and gags, they are able to pull the movie through, creating one of the most original and hilarious comedies ever.
Kidnapped in Paradise (1999)
Garbage
What do you say about a movie that was so horrible that you wanted basically the whole cast to die? I'm not a violent person, but this move was....garbage! The plot was lacking, the actor (and I use that term loosely) were horrible. My advice for everyone who has even remotely thought of watching this, don't! If your looking for a good pirate movie go with my personal favorite, The Goonies, or Hook.
Jawbreaker (1999)
This Is High School, What is A Friend Anyway?
Jawbreaker. Most people would rather break their jaw than watch this film. I first watched this film on video and I was unpleased to say the least. Obviously Rose Mcgowen is good at playing the bad gal because she is a bad gal but even her performance is lackluster. You hate her but not because she killed someone but because you can relate to seeing someone like her in your high school. Thats the only good thing about this film. The fact that you can relate to the girls because they're in every high school. The stuck up snobs who think that the world bows down to them. The plot is as thick as a piece of paper. The most popular and kind girl in school is accidently killed when her friends kidnap her on her birthday as a joke. Now the new leader of the bunch decides to cover it up and make it look like someone else did it. Is It Original? Nope. Is it a good watch? No except for Rebecca Gayheart's performance, she gave a good showing portraying the hero. In The end this movie fails to live up to its potential.
Big Daddy (1999)
What Were They Thinking?
No Offense To Adam Sandler but why? Why would he make a movie like this. This movies jokes were lame yet sometimes funny. Most of the time they were just gross. I'm an avid fan of Adam Sandler, yet this movie doesn't capture his comedy. Sandler should just stick to what he does best, pointless comedy aka, The Waterboy. The Waterboy was dumb yet we watched it, why? Because Sandler was able to bring humor to it. Simply Put, this movie is worth a watch but thats it.
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982)
Classic
No Matter What Anyone Tells Me E.T. Will Always Stand As My Favorite Movie. From The First Time I saw It To Today It Remains Just As Great. Spielberg Defined Himself With This Movie. Everything Was Perfect, The Plot, The Characters, The Setting, Which Equals Up To The Best Movie Ever. The Movie Brings Out The Kid In All Of Us. Such Lines As "E.T. Phone Home" and "I'll Be Right Here" Will Never Be Forgotten, if I Had To Give This A Letter Grade Its Very Simply Put. A+
