In Groundhog Day, Bill Murray wakes up every day in the same Pennsylvania hamlet to repeatedly endure the most provincial of American holidays. In Edge of Tomorrow, Tom Cruise’s day is reset every time he takes a bullet in the head or gets killed by invading aliens. In the new comedy Premature, a teenager is stuck in a similar time loop, but his reset button might be the most excruciating yet: failed—but extremely close!—attempts to lose his virginity.
Dan Beers, who famously landed Murray for his 2008 short, Fcu: Fact Checkers Unit, came up with the idea for Premature with co-writer Mathew Harawitz.

Can you believe Dylan McKay is almost the big 5-0?!Seems like just yesterday we were watching Luke Perry play the high school hottie on the hit '90s soap, "Beverly Hills, 90210." While Perry will always be that cool bad boy in our eyes, he's definitely matured since he appeared on the hit show. The actor's gone on to cameo in a slew of TV shows, and most recently he's starred on "Fcu: Fact Checkers Unit" and "Body of Proof."And every once in a while Luke will reunite with his former Beverly Hills costars -- in 2005 he played Jennie Garth's love interest on "What I Like About You." Dylan McKay's a dad too -- the actor married Minnie Sharp in 1993, but the two divorced in 2003. Perry shares custody of his two children, Jack and Sophie, with his ex. Currently, Luke has several shows in production and just started...

Oz The Great and Powerful is on pace to be the year's first break-out box office hit. Having banked $2 million at midnight screenings, the film is projected to finish opening weekend with around $75 million. The man playing the title role is no stranger. In fact, he may be one of the busiest guys in show business. Oz director Sam Raimi described James Franco as a man who "needs a constant injection of the creative in order to survive." [Vulture] All you have to do is look back at the past year to get a taste of how Franco keeps himself busy. In 2012, he filmed five movies, had a recurring role on the TV soap opera General Hospital, starred on another television series, Hollywood Heights, guested on Fcu: Fact Checkers Unit, volunteered at the Art of Elysium,...

The name Alex Trebek is synonymous with a wealth of interesting trivia, but for a team like the one at 'Fcu: Fact Checkers Unit,' he's so much more.
NBC's 'Fcu' web series has had some pretty fun guest stars, including Donald Faison, Pauley Perrette and Luke Perry, but it was Bill Murray's role in the original short that launched the series that intrigued Trebek enough to say yes to his own cameo. Well, that and some good old fashioned sucking up.
The 'Fcu' has met their match -- and truly their guru -- with 'Jeopardy!' host Alex Trebek, who guest stars in the season finale today (watch it here, above, after the jump). I caught up with Trebek to talk facial hair controversies, being everyone's Uncle Alex, venturing into more comedic roles and which celeb he'd love to quiz on 'Jeopardy!

The guys at NBC's web series, "Fcu: Fact Checkers Unit" are no joke (and yet they're hilarious) as they make sure that every fact published in the series' Dictum magazine is proofed and correct.
One day they may be chasing ghosts in "Beverly Hills, 90210's" Luke Perry's house and another day they're chasing down "Friday Night Lights'' star Zach Gilford dressed as a superhero or stalking Jane's Addiction's Dave Navarro. For "Fcu," it's all in a day's work.
We asked the series' stars Peter Karinen (who plays Russell) and Brian Sacca (Dylan) what tools of the trade any good celebrity fact checker needs to get the job done. Here's their list of must-have tools for celebrity fact checking:
10.) A Black ski hat: Stylish, warm, and just the right amount of "creepy."

He has toured around the world and has also appeared in scores of reality TV series; however even Dave is new to the concept of throwing mini ham sandwiches and screaming about inane stuffs.
Fcu: Fact Checkers Unit is the place or rather the show where Dave would be seen doing what has been mentioned above.

After 10 seasons on the small screen, fans of Fox's primetime soap "Beverly Hills, 90210" (1990-2000) can relive the magic without guilt. After all, the date is 9/02/10.
"Chuck" executive producer Josh Schwartz tweeted a fan-made video of a "Gossip Girl" opening to "Beverly Hills, 90210's" iconic 1990s theme. Star Jennie Garth, who was a regular for the entire 10-season run said via Twitter, "Love to the original cast and crew. And the new kids too."
Logo from Season 1 The original hourlong drama introduced us to a slew of stars (and two-time Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank) both past and future, and a decade after the show ended its run, several castmembers went on to other projects. But would they be able to sustain success in their post-"90210" careers?
The biggest surprise -- and possible discovery -- was Swank's 16-episode arc as Steve Sanders' (Ian Ziering) girlfriend Carly Reynolds in the ninth season.

Fact Checkers Unit is a scripted comedy following two overzealous fact checkers at a magazine who will stop at nothing to check the most absurd of celebrity facts. The series is based on an award winning short film from the 2008 Sundance Film Festival with YouTube celebrities, Peter Karinen and Brian Sacca, playing the fact checkers, who break into Bill Murray’s house to check whether he always drinks a glass of warm milk before bed. Each episode of Fcu: The Series, the fact checkers will have to check a different, equally as dangerous, equally as absurd fact.
Starring series regulars Peter Karinen, Brian Sacca and Kirsten Schaal, Fact Checkers Unit also features guest appearances from Luke Perry, Donald Faison, Alex Trebek, Zach Gilford, Pauley Perrette, Jon Heder, Dave Navarro, and Karolina Kurkova

NBC continued its roll out Tuesday of the web series "Fcu: Fact Checkers Unit" with a special appearance by Zach Gilford ("Friday Night Lights"). Gilford guests as an aspiring superhero with a pretty embarrassing costume. "Fcu" centers on a group of overzealous fact checkers at the celebrity magazine Dictum. The co-sponsorship from Samsung explains the rather heavy handed product placement.

The showrunner behind "Fcu: Fact-Checkers Unit" explains the art of product integration and the power of celebrity.
Does Alex Trebek shave against the grain? Does Karolina Kurkova use Spf 125? These are the do-or-die details magazine underlings Russell (Peter Karinen) and Dylan (Brian Sacca) must confirm in the new eight-episode NBC Digital series Fcu: Fact-Checkers Unit. [Ed. note: We feel their pain.] We called executive producer Tom Bannister, whose production company, Sxm, also helmed NBC's well-received Web series Ctrl (starring Arrested Development's Tony Hale as an office-worker with a magical keyboard), to get the inside scoop on Fcu, which debuted this week.
Fast Company: Fcu is based on a 2007 short film of the same title. How did you decide to turn the standalone movie it into a series?
Tom Bannister: All of our branded shows so far have come from short-form pieces of content--films, Web videos, etc.--that we have seen and fallen in love with.

Fcu: Fact Checkers Unit first debuted as an Official Selection of the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. Starring Peter Karinen and Brian Sacca (aka comedy duo Pete and Brian), the nine-minute short quickly gained attention from The Washington Post and anyone who likes to watch awesome things online. - By choice, Bill Murray doesn't make that many films a year - he averages about 1.5 films per 12 months. In case you might be wondering what the .5 is ... here is a prime example. About a million people before me have already seen the film (I'm not sure where I was all this time) but just recently, Spout's Karina Longworth pointed out a factoid that I had just discussed (read here) once the Sundance's short film selection was announced: is it really worth showcasing a film that has already been downloaded in the 7 figures? While we are on the subject of Bill - here is the list of films he'll be appearing in shortly commencing with a role in Warner Bros.' Get Smart- he plays Agent 13...he is currently filming (as the lead role) the book to film adaptation of City of Ember about a futuristic society that might

- It’s no coincidence that the Sundance Festival Short Film Program had to sift through a lot more short films this year – video filmmakers are popping out from everywhere and filling the web with viral video content. A whopping 5,107 submissions were submitted and a total of 83 were programmed for the upcoming edition of the 08 fest. While more doesn’t necessarily mean better, the stuff I’ve seen at the last two editions easily demonstrates that there is some great talent to explore and in the case of Apple's iTunes Movie Store, Xbox Live and the Netflix – talent to exploit. The trio of companies will promote the films throughout the year, but for those not going to the fest you can check for daily uploads at www.sundance.org/festival Among the already popular submissions are a pair of new works from Ken Wardrop, Julia Kwan - a Canadian filmmaker
